3 THE MOTOR VEHCLES NDUSTRY Factory shipments reported by plants manufaçturing motor vehicles in Canada were valued at 767, in The value of motor vehicles in this total amounted to 670,901,744, while automobile parts and miscellaneous products accounted for the remainder, or 96,453,240. The number of cars, trucks and buses shipped from plants during the year was the highest on record totalling units, an increase of 4 per cent over the previous high of 415,420 units in Factory shipments of passenger cars in 1952 totalled 263,534 units, including 245,443 units made 1932 for sale in Canada, and units made for export. The number of trucks shipped from plants totalled units, of which 111,920 units were for the Canadian market and 37,691 for export. Output of buses numbered 565 units, all for the domestic market. Actual exports of Canadian-made vehicles during 1952 totalled 79,934 units valued at 92.5 millions, and imports amounted to 38,993 units worth 61.2 millions. TABLE 1.
