There were 4,520 cars, trucks and buses sold for 44,929,567 in Canada during October of this year compared with 3,936 which sold for V4,222,337 in October, 1935, and 4,55 1 for 4,841,943 in September, The number of vehiclee aold in October, , registered an increase of 15 per cent over the corre8ponding month last year and the decline from September about one per cent was less than 8ea6onal. The 1936 tenmonth total of car8, trucks and buses was 98,046, as againbt 89,360 for the corresponding period la8t year, a gain of 9.7 per cent. Clearance of 1936 models, in anticipation of the early introduction of new models, resulted in an increase over September in the passenger car market for the second year in 8ucces6ion. New passenger cars sold in Canada totalled 3,441, a gain of 10 per cent over September and an increase of 16 per cent over October last year. The increa8e over September was noted in all provinces with the single exception of British Columbia, where 8ales declined about 2 per cent. Improvement over October last year, evident in all provinces except Alberta, ranged frcm 56 per cent for Manitoba to 2 per cent for British Columbia. Commercial vehicle 8ales fell below the September level. There were 1,079 trucks and buses disposed of for 41,144,329 during October. The gain over October of last year was 10 per cent in number and 18 per cent in retail value. In this field, Alberta is the only province to show a decline from last year.
