3 Key Dates Project History On July 10, 2007, City Council directed GWP to develop a long term plan for smart meters On October 23, 2007, City Council endorsed GWP s three-phase plan to transition to smart meters On September 23, 2008, GWP reported to City Council that the business case was positive, and that GWP was issuing an RFP for smart meters On November 12, 2008, GWP issued an RFP to select a smart meter vendor

4 Key Dates Project History On July 21, 2009, City Council approved GWP to contract with Itron to implement its smart meter program On August 6, 2009, GWP applied for a $20,000,000 DOE Smart Grid Grant On October 27, 2009, GWP was notified that its $20,000,000 grant application was approved On March 2, 2010, the City Council authorized GWP to receive $20,000,000 to support the GWP AMI- Smart Grid project
