WARNINGS Please read the fllwing befre installing r cnnecting this appliance RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK All electrical cnnectins must be perfrmed by a licensed electrician and must cnfirm t all natinal, state and lcal electrical cdes in effect at the time f installatin. The appliance shuld be supplied thrugh a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual perating current nt exceeding 30mA. The appliance must be cnnected t a suitable rated and weather prtected pwer supply. Water temperature in excess f 38 C may cause hyperthermia (heat stress). It is the spa manufacturer's and/r installer's respnsibility t select suitable lads and cnfigure lad shed settings (if required) t ensure the system des nt exceed its rated maximum ttal lad. 9 TM Spa Pack Installatin Flr munting prcedure WATER FLOW WATER FLOW 4 ADVANCED SPA CTROL variable heater Due t its flexible design the spa pack can be installed n either the suctin side r the discharge side f the filtratin pump. Select a suitable lcatin n the spa base and firmly secure spa pack t base using fur (4) x screws f apprpriate length backed with flat washers. Each screw shuld be psitined in the mulded cut uts f the munting feet (refer abve & aside). The spa pack shuld be fixed using ALL fur screw lcatins t prvide adequate supprt (tw screws n each side f the spa pack). IMPORTANT NOTE The spa pack is NOT intended t be used utdr. The spa pack must be installed in indr envirnments nly and shuld be installed in an enclsure s that all electrical cnnectins cannt be accessible withut the use f a tl (ie. under spa cabinet). NOTES Only use pan, rund r truss head screws with flat washers DO NOT use cuntersunk screws. They may damage r crack the mulded munting brackets The spa pack must be installed with the heater tube hrizntal and shuld be psitined as lw as pssible in the pipe wrk f the spa. The spa pack must be plumbed s that water flws frm left t right fr crrect water detectin and accurate temperature sensing. When cnstructing a spa care shuld be taken t minimise vibratin frm the pumps transferring t the spa pack thrugh the base, frame r pipe wrk. Extended perids f vibratin may lead t early cmpnent failure. The spa pack shuld be lcated at least 10cm (4") abve ptential fld level. If spa flr is n grund level the spa pack shuld be raised 10cm (4") abve spa flr level. Install spa pack in a suitable psitin t prevent water dripping nt the unit. In particular avid installing spa pack directly underneath keypad munting lcatin. 7

10 TM Spa Pack Installatin Wall munting prcedure Due t its flexible design the spa pack can be installed n either the suctin side r the discharge side f the filtratin pump. Select a suitable lcatin under the spa and use tw (2) x (2x4) treated timber beams r ther suitable timber r metal materials t cnstruct an adequate supprt structure t munt the spa pack t. 11 Keypad Installatin All Mdels (SV2.T / SV3.T / SV4.T) Centre t Centre mm SV2.T Select a suitable keypad lcatin that is abve maximum water level and that is easily accessible t the spa user. Befre drilling the cut ut fr the keypad, hld the keypad in place and check there is sufficient cable length t reach the spa pack withut the cable being stretched r pulled against sharp edges. Drill tw 76mm diameter hles spaced 71mm apart frm centre t centre (as illustrated aside). Cut ut the residual material between the tw hles (as illustrated). Clean munting surface t be free f dirt and dust particles, il and grease. T ensure the keypad adhesive bnds t the spa well the shell must have a clean, smth and dry surface. Peel paper backing frm adhesive gasket ensuring all f the adhesive is expsed. 76 mm 76 mm Feed cable thrugh pening, align keypad and press firmly nt munting surface. Ensure keypad is adhered well t surface by pressing evenly arund the utside edge f the whle keypad. IMPORTANT NOTES SV3.T / SV4.T The keypad munting lcatin shuld have adequate drainage t prevent accumulatin f water n r arund the keypad area. If keypad is t be munted under a spa cver allw sufficient clearance t prevent cver resting directly n keypad. 13 Electrical Wiring (Terminal Blck Cnnectins) AUS / NZ / Eurpean Mdels ( V AC) Tls Required: Wire Strippers, Phillips head screwdriver, flat head screwdriver Remve five (5) x Phillips screws frm mains lid t access terminal blck. Cut away apprpriate length f uter insulatin frm mains pwer cable and strip away 25mm (1") f wire insulatin frm the end f each wire. Rute mains cable thrugh ne f the tw snap ut hles prvided and secure the cable with a gland t prvide adequate cable strain relief (Tighten gland with use f a tl t ensure supply line anchrage pint cannt be remved by hand).. Push the wires int the crrect terminals as labelled. Refer wiring guide belw r n the sticker inside the terminal blck area. Tighten all screws n the terminal blck with a flat head screwdriver and check t ensure each wire has been firmly secured. Then screw mains lid back n. 14 DIP Switch Settings System Cnfiguratin Basic spa cnfiguratin is achieved by setting dip switches. The dip switches determine pump cnfiguratin and select the number f input phases wired t the spa pack. The installer must crrectly cnfigure the dip switches t match the pump and pwer cnfiguratin cnnected t the spa pack. The dip switch bank (illustrated aside) has six individual switches. Switches set t the tp f the switch bank are in the psitin. Switches set t the bttm f the switch bank (clsest t the numbers) are in the psitin. The heartbeat LED flashes t indicate the current health/status f the spa pack. When the spa pack is functining crrectly with n errrs t reprt the heartbeat LED emits a single flash in a cnstant pulse much like a heartbeat (,,, ). If the spa pack encunters a fault the heartbeat LED will begin flashing in sequence with the errr cde number being experienced (ie. ER2 =,;,; ). The heartbeat LED is lcated beside the bttm left hand crner f the dip switch bank and will emit its red flash thrugh the tinted lw vltage cnnectin cver, making it clearly visible frm the frnt f the spa pack. 12

16 P Pwer Outlets V AC Output Multiple pwer utput sckets are prvided t run spa accessries. Each utput scket is clearly labelled including the maximum current fr that utlet. In additin the maximum current per phase is labelled. When cnnecting accessries the installer must cnsider the current draw f each appliance t be cnnected and ensure the system des nt exceed the maximum lad limits. The utput sckets are wired with three sckets per phase (refer table belw). The nly exceptin is phase 1 which als pwers the heater element (a scket is nt prvided, the heater is wired internally). Each phase circuit is prtected by a fuse. P Pwer Outlets The sum ttal current draw f all appliances cnnected t a phase shuld nt exceed the maximum current limit f that respective phase. Refer t ratings infrmatin labels n spa pack fr current limits. In single phase applicatins the utlet sckets are still gverned by the fuse/current limit f each phase. When cnnecting accessry devices be sure t push crdset firmly int scket and ensure bth side lcking taps have been secured and latched in place (refer illustratins aside). P Outlets Cver Firmly secured and latched in place P Outlets Cver 12 Fr installatins where there is insufficient depth under the spa skirt fr the cable radius f an ver mulded plug the installer can pt t fit the amp utlet cver and use nn ver mulded plugs t achieve a tighter cable radius. If accessries are cnnected with nn ver mulded P plugs the P utlet cver MUST be installed and fixed with screws. t The P utlet cver features snap ut sectins t be cut away at pint f install t suit quantity f crds in use. 14

17 Lw Vltage Cnnectins 12V AC The lw vltage cnnectins are lcated n the tp right hand crner f the spa pack. RJ45/RJ11 sckets are used fr cnnectin and are lcated inside the spa pack enclsure. The lw vltage cnnectins cver must be fitted and secured with screws fr water prfing seal t wrk. Prt current sensing in pl temperature sensr The SV series spa packs mnitr the RMS current drawn frm the lw vltage prts at all times. 12V current drawn by keypads, in pl temp sensrs, expand prts and lights are measured. If the current is abve 1.1A the cntrller will shut dwn and latch fault cde (Er6-12V verlad). Digital expand prt A PC cmmunicatins and general purpse digital interface prt. Mst suited t interfacing t ther digital equipment such as steres, remte cntrls etc Analg expand prt clur LED spa light An analg expansin prt that cntains tw analg inputs and a digital I2C bus. 18 Prgram Circuit Breaker Rating Fr variable element peratin Press & hld + Current sensing Each VH (variable heater) mdel f SV cntrller cntains mains current measurement hardware that allws the cntrller t mnitr the RMS current draw. The current sensing hardware is nly installed n Phase 1. Phases 2 and 3 can als be mnitred if they are wired t terminal CS f the mains terminal blck (refer wiring infrmatin n page 10). 31 A SA SU MO TU WE TH FR Press Press C.LMT SA SU MO TU WE TH FR t enter adjustment 32 A SA SU MO TU WE TH FR t cnfirm & save 33 A SA SU MO TU WE TH FR Current measurement is used fr variable element peratin. The purpse is t autmatically adjust heater size t match the residual current available when accessry devices (ie pumps and/r blwer) are perating. The aim is t maximise heating input whilst spa is in use, but still remain within the current limit f the cntrller. The OEM menu item C.LMT (current limit) shuld be set t match the rating f the circuit breaker that feeds the spa pl. T take full advantage f the variable element and maximise heater size when spa in manual use the circuit breaker rating must be prgrammed crrectly. The SV cntrller will shut dwn and latch fault cde (Er10 - ver current) if the SV cntrller detects a mains current abve 110% f C.LMT. The actual current draw f the spa pack can be viewed at anytime via the diagnstics menu r by using the SpaNET Link PC applicatin. The default current limit (C.LMT) values fr each mdel are as fllws: Mdel Default C.LMT IMPORTANT NOTES The installer must prgram the C.LMT (current limit) setting t match the rating f the circuit breaker that feeds the spa pl fr crrect cntrller peratin and safe pwer management. The C.LMT (current limit) setting is stred in nn vlatile memry (EEPROM) s it is remembered when pwer is turned ff. The C.LMT setting nly needs t be prgrammed nce. C.LMT value is nt adjusted by EEPROM reset. If the C.LMT (current limit) setting is nt matched t the circuit breaker rating crrectly the spa wner may experience either tripping circuit breakers r Er10 Over Current latching errrs. A ten (10) secnd idle menu time ut perid exists. 20 OEM Cnfiguratin Menu Menu item details L.SHD Lad Shed Cunt V.ELE Variable Element Operatin This setting determines the lad shed behaviur f the heating element. Lad shedding is gverned by the lad shed cunt (1 t 7). Lad shed cunt = number f lads required t be turned fr the heater t lad shed and turn. The filtratin pump is nt cunted as a lad, the blwer and all ther pumps are. Example: Lad Shed Cunt = 2 When any tw lads in additin t the filtratin pump are turned the heater lad sheds and turns. The L.SHD setting ranges frm 1 t 7. 1 = maximum lad shed (default) 7 = lad shed disabled Variable element peratin allws the SV cntrller t autmatically adjust the heater pwer level t match the residual current available when accessry devices (ie pumps and/r blwer) are perating. The benefit f this feature is the element can autmatically reduce its size and remain n instead f lad shedding and turning ff when spa is in manual use and jet pumps have been activated. The setting chices are: variable element enabled (default) variable element disabled Nte: If disabled the heating behaviur is the same as a standard element. Lad shed settings may need t be cnfigured t ensure the spa pack des nt exceed its maximum current limit. SANI Sanitiser ( 3/uv) Operatin V.MAX Maximum Variable Element Size Determines hw the sanitiser pwer utlet perates during manual spa use. The setting chices are: sanitiser with pl use sanitiser with pl use (default) If variable element peratin is enabled the installer als has the ability t limit the pwer level supplied t the heating element (30 t 100%) via the V.MAX menu item. This enables the installer t reduce the heater size where available pwer is limited, withut the need t replace the heater element r spa pack. It als allws fr the heater t be returned t maximum size if mre pwer became available. C.JET Circ n with Jet Pump The V.MAX setting ranges frm 30% t 100% Default setting = 100% Determines behaviur f circ pump when jet pump is turned n fr manual spa use. The setting chices are: F.CYC circ pump frced with jet pump use circ pump cntrlled autmatically (default) Filtratin Cycle Blcks Filtratin cycles can be prgrammed t run as ften as every hur r as little as nce every 24 hurs. Use this setting t adjust the frequency f the filtratin cycle perids. The F.CYC setting chices are fr filtratin t ccur every 1,2,3,4,6,8,12 r 24 hurs. 18 x.llm Lad Limit Settings (Phases 1/2/3) This setting allws the installer t select the maximum number f lads (1-5) allwed t run at the ne time. Different lad limits can be set fr each phase. 1.LLM = Phase 1 Lad Limit 2.LLM = Phase 2 Lad Limit 3.LLM = Phase 3 Lad Limit Example: 1.LLM = 2 This will allw 2 x accessries (pump(s) and/r blwer) t run at the ne time, but as sn as yu try and turn the 3rd accessry n the buttn will nt wrk until yu turn ne f the ther accessries ff first. Adaptive hysteresis cntrl tunes the temperature sensing t that particular spa pl and envirnment. It is particularly advantageus when in heater temperature sensing is emplyed. The A.HYS menu item allws the installer t set the maximum range that hysteresis can be adjusted. The A.HYS setting ranges frm 0 t 20 C A value f 0 disables adaptive hysteresis Default = 20 C S 24 Sanitiser (24 hurs) The setting allws the sanitiser pwer utlet t be pwered 24 hurs per day The setting chices are: C 24 sanitiser pwer utlet always sanitiser pwer utlet autmatically cntrlled (default) Circ Pump (24 hurs) The setting enables the circ pump utlet t be pwered 24 hurs per day The setting chices are: CAL C r F circ pump pwer utlet always circ pump pwer utlet autmatically cntrlled (default) Calibratin Adjustment Submenu Every SV cntrller is calibrated fr mains vltage and current measurement during prductin. Hwever, shuld the SV cntrller readings nt agree with a multi meter reading they can be adjusted. Field calibratin f the current reading shuld fllw the fllwing prcedure: 1) Stp any current draw by discnnecting any fixed 230V lads and switching ff heating, pumps, blwer etc 2) Zer the current reading using C.ZER. 3) Apply maximum pump lads and measure the current draw using a gd quality multi meter. 4) Adjust current reading using C.ADJ t match multi meter reading. The SV measures the mains current that flws frm Phase 1 terminal t phase 1 lads (heater, blwer, zne, circ). Any ther lads cnnected via the CS terminal are als measured. x.ser Service Timers These settings are used t enable and adjust service timers. A value f 0 results in the timer being disabled. Maximum timer value is 52 weeks. Independent cunters are stred in R and therefre reset t 0 at pwer up. Cunters fr each service timer are incremented everyday at 8am. When the cunter is greater r equal t the service timer value x 7, the tuch pad will beep and scrll a message twice every 60 secnds. 1.SER message = "SERVICE FILTERS" 2.SER message = "SERVICE 2" 3.SER message = "SERVICE 3" The particular cunter is reset by pressing the OK buttn whilst the service message is scrlling. 19
