1 Prfessinal Drivers: 2018 Rules, Instructins & Infrmatin NEW FOR 2018 A few items listed in the guide are new fr this year; please make a nte f them Appearance f Cntestants The Gergia Truck Driving Champinship is a prfessinal event which displays the skills f Gergia s best prfessinal drivers. T that end all cntestants must adhere t the event s appearance and attire guidelines. Failure t d s, will result in disqualificatin. Appearance: All cntestant s hair shall be f a natural clr (i.e. blnd, black, brwn, red r grey) and nt such that wuld diminish the prfessinal unifrm. Flurescent r similar dyed hair clrs are prhibited. Attire: Every Cntestant must wear the recgnized unifrm f his/her mtr carrier during cmpetitin. If the cntestant s cmpany des nt have a unifrm, cntestants are expected t dress in such a way that prjects a psitive and prfessinal image. All cntestants must wear a cllared shirt and shuld wear a belt as n sagging f pants will be acceptable. N T-shirts, N sweatpants, N gym shrts. Deadlines and Punctuality: All participating cmpanies, managers and cntestants must meet required deadlines and be prmpt fr all events. Failure t meet the deadlines and/r tardiness will result in disqualificatin. Receipt f infrmatin sheet each driver must sign and submit that they received the rules packet and facts fr driver s bk. Driver Orientatin: all drivers must be present fr rientatin at the Grand Hall Friday at 10:00 am. Written Test: Friday at 8:10 am at the Grand Ballrm Drivers need t sit in the sectin marked with their class f cmpetitin. D NOT bring ANYTHING with yu t the written test. Drivers may nt sit next t r acrss frm drivers frm their same cmpany After drivers cmplete their written exam drivers are t turn in their test and quietly leave the testing rm and head t the Grand Hall t prepare fr rientatin. NO CELL PHONES, NO CAMERAS, NO RECORDING DEVICES, n devices that can receive data, send data and/r signal ntificatins ARE ALLOWED AT REGISTRATION, IN THE GRAND HALL, IN THE GRAND BALLROOM, ON THE COURSE, OR IN THE DRIVERS POSSESSION DURING ANY PHASE OF THE COMPETITION (Registratin Friday End f cmpetitin Saturday). This includes smart watches, fit bands r any device viewed as questinable by TDC Officials. Participants having these devices in yur pssessin will be disqualified. This includes Friday mrning at registratin! Yu will nt receive yur badge t participate if yu have an electrnic device n yur persn! N Practicing: Cntestants must finish all practice fr the cmpetitin prir t 12 nn Thursday. Participants fund practicing after 12 Thursday will be disqualified. N Peeking: N ne is allwed in the TDC Curse area, Grand Hall Lt r Pavilin unless it is during Registratin, the written exam r the cmpetitin. Anyne fund in the restricted areas befre r after hurs will be subject t disqualificatin f themselves and/r their cmpany. This includes drivers, spuses, children, friends, cmpany fficials r anyne wh shuld nt be in the Cmpetitin area. Driver Hlding: All drivers will be assigned hlding grups and apprx. cmpetitin times. While in hlding, yu will be given further instructin fr the cmpetitin. Once yu have cmpleted yur event fr Friday yu are free until Saturday mrning then yu must reprt back t the hlding area by 8:15 am. Saturday driving, and pre-trip activities will begin at 8:30 am. Free Time & Driver Discussin: During free time, yu can watch the cmpetitin, but yu are nt allwed n the curse r in the pre-trip area. If yu are bserved vilating any f these regulatins, yu will be disqualified frm the cmpetitin. Yu shuld nt discuss the details f the curse, pre-trip r written exam with ther cntestants. License Restrictin: Drivers cannt have a manual transmissin restrictin listed n their CDL. Badges: Yu will be given a badge at registratin, yu will need t wear them during the cmpetitin

3 CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION Driver Registratin: Friday at 7:15 am Driver Registratin & the Legacy Ldge Grand Ballrm, drivers wh are nt present fr registratin will be disqualified. Written Test: Friday at 8:10 am at the Grand Ballrm Parking: There will be n parking at the Grand Hall. There will be a shuttle at the htel that will bring yu t the Grand Hall. If yu chse t drive, parking is available nly in the water park parking lt t the right f the entrance t Grand Hall. Fllw the signs and please park in the assigned areas. Weather: Cme prepared. All events will be held rain r shine! Dn t Get Lst! Please nte the directins t Lake Lanier Islands, Legacy Ldge and the Grand Hall, and the times and rules fr all events. Families with children: We want t keep the cmpetitin family-friendly hwever children shuld nt be riding skatebards, thrwing balls r ding anything arund the curse that may cmprmise their safety r distract the cmpetitrs. Please advise the families with children t mnitr their activity arund the curse. Running Order: We will pst the running rder in the htel lbby Thursday afternn. ONSITE ACTIVITIES, BANQUET & AWARDS CEREMONY Banquet: The awards dinner begins at 6:30 pm n Saturday, May 12, at Peachtree Pint Attire: Dress fr the dinner may be casual but n t-shirts, shrts r flip- flps. PLEASE. Banquet Tickets: All driver entry fees cver the driver s cst and that f a guest fr the banquet. Everyne drivers, spuses, all children, guests and cmpany representatives must have a dinner ticket (wrist band) t enter the pavilin. Space is limited t the first 500 guests. Dinner tickets purchased after April 13th (if available) will be general admissin nly and seating will nt be with the cmpany s reserved tables. Awards Ceremny: The 2018 Awards Ceremny will be held at the Peachtree Pint Amphitheatre and is pen t all friends and family f the drivers. Presentatins fr the Gergia Fleet Safety Awards, Safety Prfessinal f- the-year, Driver f-the-year, and Gergia's Driving Champins will begin at apprximately 8:00. N tickets are needed, but seating at the ceremny will begin fllwing dinner. DRIVER REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS Facts fr Drivers: This is yur guide t the cmpetitin and study guide fr the written test. Each driver will receive ne frm their cmpany. If yu wuld like additinal cpies r a electrnic versin t listen t in yur vehicle yu may purchase them frm Endrsements: Yu must have the prper endrsement fr the class yu want t cmpete in. Drivers cannt have a manual transmissin restrictin listed n their CDL. Driver Infrmatin and Entry & Release Frms: Each cntestant must cmplete a typed infrmatin frm (frnt and back) and return t GMTA by April 23rd n exceptins. Submissin & Acceptance Guidelines fr Driver Frms: Driver frms must be typed n handwritten frms will be accepted. Submit Cmpleted frms paper clipped tgether in this rder r electrnically scanned and sent: Receipt f infrmatin driver must sign and submit that they received the rules packet and facts fr driver s bk. Driver Infrmatin Sheet this is the frm that must be typed Entry and Release must be signed by driver and cmpany fficial Current MVR must have been ran in 2018 CDL License cpy driver must have the prper endrsements fr the class entered t be eligible. Participating drivers must nt have a manual transmissin restrictin n their CDL. If a drivers CDL expires befre the cmpetitin, a new license will need t be prvided befre they are eligible t cmpete. If yu change classes befre April 23rd, a new signed entry and release and registratin frm must be submitted. N class r driver changes will be accepted after the 23rd f April this includes nsite. Each cmpany fficial must cnfirm with each participant their prper class fr registratin and have their signed cnfirmatin frm submitted befre the start f business n April 23rd!
