2 ADVANCED HYDRAULICS Case CXB crawler excavators have three hydraulic working odes offering higher breakout forces, faster swing speeds and iproved slew torque, resulting in rapid cycle ties and a 5 % increase in productivity. Power boost function is autoatically engaged in Auto ode. The CX230B is powered by the latest fuel efficient coon rail engine, eeting Tier III eission regulations with a reduction in fuel consuption, despite an increase in power output. FIRST CLASS CAB The B series cab has increased glass area offering iproved visibility all round the achine, including a single window on the right of the operator for an unobstructed view across the achine. With three ties the structural rigidity of the previous odel, the CX230B cab provides reduced internal levels of noise and vibration. An ergonoic control console akes it easy to choose the right operating ode for the job, boosting efficiency and reducing unnecessary fuel consuption. Low noise and vibration. High output achine.

3 OPERATOR FOCUS The new cab structure has 60 ore leg and foot space, with a 60 % increase in glass, contributing to a spacious working environent for the operator. The ergonoic layout, with intuitive controls and short cofortable joysticks, ensure axiu cofort. Lower internal noise levels and viscous fluid cab ountings contribute to a reduction in stress and fatigue, boosting productivity throughout the day. Consoles have four positions, with return to pre-set on the left hand console, to suit all operator sizes. Coplete cofort. Ergonoic design. DURABILITY BUILT IN Increased hydraulic perforance is atched by a redesigned upperstructure, to ensure the legendary Case reputation for durability and reliability. Both the boo and dipper ar have forged brackets and reduced tolerances, prooting increased coponent life and less downtie. New resin side shis on the boo and dipper contribute to reduced wear and longer service intervals. High perforance synthetic hydraulic filter reduces syste containation, reducing service costs and boosting achine longevity. Robust undercarriage coponents have been designed to work longer. Reduced downtie. Lower ownership costs. OPERATING PERFORMANCE A 20 % increase in fuel tank capacity and reduced fuel consuption, result in up to two days working between refuelling. Standard high flow electric refuelling pup with auto stop feature. Extended Maintenance Syste (EMS) bushes provide 1,000 hour greasing intervals for further reduction in downtie. Green oil drain plugs provide environental benefits and ease aintenance. Best in class service ties and ground access to all filters result in axiu uptie and reduced ownership costs. 4 ENGINE Advanced low speed four cylinder engine uses coon rail technology, four valves per cylinder and exhaust gas recirculation to eet Tier III regulations, preparing the way for further eissions reductions in the future. Robust engine block with ladder frae construction and alost the sae ass as the previous six cylinder engine, provides guaranteed durability and longevity. Low rev cooling fan contributes to a 5 % drop in noise levels, further boosted by low sound exhaust uffler. Radiators and oil coolers are ounted side by side for iproved throughput of cooling air, while fuel cooler controls the teperature of fuel entering the injection syste, boosting perforance. Auto and one-touch idle speed control for greater operator control. HYDRAULICS The CX230B uses a hydraulic pup torque variable control syste, to aintain optiu engine rp during heavy load work. The control reacts rapidly to operator deand, resulting in a further 5 % fuel saving. Iproved piston pups with tighter tolerances are eployed, reducing hydraulic syste losses and contributing a further 2 % fuel saving. The swing relief syste also offers a 2 % fuel saving, fro reduced flow. Super Fine synthetic fibre full flow hydraulic filter offers containation reduction, with no need for additional filters when operating hydraulic breakers. Upgraded hose burst control valves are ounted behind the ain lift cylinders, for increased safety. RH CONSOLE, ENGINE THROTTLE Centralised switch layout in easy to read console. Luinosity sensor ensures that graphics can be read in any light conditions, day or night. Fully adjustable consoles house short, cofortable joysticks, to iprove achine controllability. Up to 10 auxiliary hydraulic flow settings can be prograed into the CX230B s eory, to pre-set up to 10 powered attachents, further increasing versatility and reducing downtie. The operator can change between hydraulic attachent settings fro within the cab. Advanced engine throttle control deterines working ode selection, with Power Boost on in Auto ode at all ties.

5 OPERATOR S CAB Stronger cab has reduced width pillars and 60 % ore glass, including a single piece window to the right of the operator. The CX230B cab is 30 % stronger and cobined with viscous fluid cab ounts results in greatly reduced internal noise and vibration levels, eliinating operator fatigue. Four positions for each console and a return to pre-set on the left hand console, standard air conditioning with nine outlet louvres, longer seat slides, a fully reclining seat and 60 ore foot space, ensure that all operators reain cofortable. Cup holders, a clock, obile phone holder, a built-in coolbox and nuerous storage copartents contribute to a stess-free work shift.

6 MAINTENANCE All filters and regular service points can be easily accessed fro ground level in a centralised position, reducing service tie and increasing safety for technicians. Green engine oil drainer helps reduce environental ipact. Centralised electrics positioned within the cab, behind the operator s seat, to ensure cleanliness and dry operating conditions. The larger fuel tank has a drain cock and reovable aintenance plate, aking it easier to clean out in case of containation. A high flow refuelling pup, twice as fast as the previous odel, includes an auto stop function to ake refilling faster, further reducing downtie. UNDERCARRIAGE CXB track coponents are designed for extended durability and long service life. Case sprockets are heat treated for iproved longevity and the durability of track guides and track links has been further iproved, with M-shaped seals and increased pin hardness further extending operating hours. Track rollers have a revised shape and are designed for reduced wear, with an iproved O-ring design extending service life and boosting the Case reputation for durability, reliability and long service. IMPROVED PIN AND BUSHING LIFE Extended Maintenance Bushings (EMS) are fitted as standard on all CXB achines (previously only on achines above the CX330). The EMS bushings provide 1,000 hour greasing intervals on all pins except the bucket linkage, which retains 250 hour intervals. Anti-friction shis at the boo foot and head liit friction and noise in operation by cutting free play, increasing durability and reliability and reducing ownership costs. 7 ATTACHMENTS/BUCKETS CX230B custoers can choose fro a variety of ain boos and dipper ars to suit different applications, all of which are constructed of heavy duty steel box section with internal baffles to increase torsional rigidity. Deep groove welding ensures that the boos and ars can withstand the stress of high breakout forces, heavy lifting and attachents such as hydraulic breakers, copactors, deolition shears and crushers. With a different choice of boos and dipper sticks, along with a range of buckets fro , there is a configuration to eet the requireents of every custoer s job site.
