4 ENGINE The Case CX800 is equipped with a proven Isuzu AH-6WG1X diesel engine, providing 495 hp (369 kw) of power at an unstressed 1800 rp. With high pressure coon rail fuel injection, this electronically-controlled engine eets the requireents of the EU directive 97/68/EC Tier 3A on engine eissions. The Case Intelligent Coputer Coand Control Syste (ICCCS), working with electronic engine control, optiises the fuel injection to eet the load on the engine and hydraulic cylinders. This results in a high level of responsiveness for the operator and ore efficient use of the engine, reducing fuel consuption and engine eissions. The engine incorporates an autoatic war-up syste, which increases engine speed gradually as the correct operating teperatures are reached, preventing preature wear of engine coponents. HYDRAULIC SYSTEM Case excavators offer the power and speed to perfor, whatever the application. Using an Intelligent Coputer Coand Control Syste (ICCCS), the CX800 provides the optiu balance of speed, power and fuel efficiency to eet the operator s needs. Boo priority perits faster cycle ties in loading operations as the hydraulic oil is prioritised to the ain boo circuit during the raise function. The energy created by oil returning fro the boo and the dipper ar is regenerated to increase the excavating speed. In addition there is an auto power boost function which autoatically increases the syste pressure by 8-10 per cent to power through heavy ground, or to help with heavy lifting duties. The CX800 features an ultra-clean 1 icron hydraulic filter, which provides an exceptional level of filtration, even reoving water fro the oil. This results in extended hydraulic oil life, with change intervals now set at 5000 hours, reducing downtie and cutting operating costs. OPERATING MODES The CX800 enables the operator to have a choice on how the achine is operated. Siply choose the work ode that atches the achine output to the job application. Four operating odes are available. H Mode (Heavy) For heavy excavation or whenever you need extra power. S Mode (Standard) For standard digging and loading operations reducing fuel consuption. L Mode (Light) For lifting and other operations that need fingertip accuracy. Auto-Mode The ost revolutionary approach to axiizing power & fuel efficiency available today. Just select the Auto-Mode with the switch panel. Using actual working pressure readings, ICCCS instantly changes odes assuring the best cobination of speed and power while you can stay focused on the work at hand. 4

5 OPERATOR S CAB As befits a range-topping achine, the CX800 s cab offers high levels of cofort, low noise and a cliate-controlled working environent. The entire cab is ounted on six shock absorbing rubber and fluid ounts, reducing vibration and noise in the cab for the operator. A fully adjustable suspension seat is standard equipent, offering height, reach and rake options to ensure that all sizes of operator can find their ideal working position. Autoatic cliate control aintains the desired teperature in the cab whatever the weather outside. The cab is a full 1 etre wide, with plenty of roo for the operator to store coats and bags out of the working area. Large windscreens and side glazing, along with low bodywork to the rear of the achine, provide excellent all round visibility fro the cab. Rear view safety irrors are also included in the standard specification. 5

6 UNDERCARRIAGE/TRANSMISSION As the biggest achine in the Case range, the CX800 continues a long tradition of durable, highly productive ining and heavy earthoving excavators. A odified X-style carbody is welded internally for added strength, and the turntable bearing hub extends down through the top plate of the carbody for additional structural integrity. The achine has two speed travel otors, with a top speed of 4.2 k/h, aking it easy to reposition on site when necessary. The track otors will downshift autoatically when clibing, and copact high torque final drives ensure traction on the steepest grades. MAINTENANCE/ACCESSIBILITY There are large, wide opening doors to both sides of the achine, aking it easy for technicians to access the engine and hydraulic coponentry. The CX800 is equipped with a hydraulically-driven cooling fan, which can be reversed on start-up to blow dust and debris away fro the excavator s cooling pack. The achine benefits fro a 900 litre fuel tank, to axiise working tie. An auto-stop electric fuel pup is fitted as standard to the achine, to reduce refuelling ties and ake life easier for the operator. IMPROVED PIN AND BUSHING LIFE All boo pins (except the bucket pins) are extended aintenance syste (EMS) chroe plated for increased hardness, with lubricated brass bushings fitted through the boo and dipper. Dust seals are double structured to prevent the ingress of dirt and dust on site. This cobination akes it possible to extend lubrication intervals on the boo pins to six onths/1000 hours of operation, cutting downtie and ensuring that the achine keeps working longer. 7 ATTACHMENTS/BUCKETS CX800 custoers can choose fro a variety of ain boos and dipper ars to suit different applications, all of which are constructed of heavy duty steel box section with internal baffles to increase torsional rigidity. Deep groove welding ensures that the boos and ars can withstand the stress of high breakout forces, heavy lifting and attachents such as hydraulic breakers, copactors, deolition shears and crushers. With a choice of two ain boos and four dipper sticks, along with a range of buckets fro , there is a configuration to eet the requireents of every custoer s job site. 7
