2 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WARNING Do not exceed GVWR or GAWR ratings as found on the driver-side vehicle door cornerpost. CAUTION Read this document before installing the strobe lights. Install Brackets and Lights 1. Park the vehicle on a smooth, level, hard surface, such as concrete. Turn the vehicle ignition to the "OFF" position and remove the key. 2. Position the driver-side strobe light bracket at the rear of the hopper as shown. Align top of bracket with molding seam. Molding Seam CAUTION Use standard methods and practices when attaching spreader and installing accessories, including proper personal protective safety equipment. Strobe Light Bracket Lit. Using the bracket as a template, mark the location of the four bracket mounting holes on the hopper and drill pilot holes using a #2 or 5/32" drill bit. 1" Hole #10 x 1-1/2" Pan Head Screw Strobe Light Bracket 4. Drill 1" holes at the locations shown. Harnesses will be fed through these holes. 3" Hole Hole placement is the same on driver's side and passenger's side. Passenger-Side Hole Placement 2.0" 1" Hole 1" Hole 2.0" 5. Install the bracket to the hopper using the supplied #10 x 1 1/2" pan head screws. 6. Repeat Steps 2 4 for the passenger-side bracket. 4 7. Feed the electrical connector and leads from one of the LED strobe lights through the large hole in one of the brackets. Install the LED light and gasket to the bracket using the supplied #6 x 5/8" machine screws and #6 locknuts. Install Harness and Relay/Fuse Assembly Passenger-Side Harness Routing: 1. Feed the two-way trailer plug end of the longest harness into the drilled hole behind the passenger-side strobe light bracket. Thread the plug end through the hole on the inside of the hopper rear leg (located just above the conveyor motor). 2. Run the harness across the back of the hopper, following the conveyor motor's cable assembly. 3. Feed the harness into the hole drilled on the inside of the driver's side leg (located just above the electrical enclosure). Thread the plug end out of the 3" hole, and into the electrical enclosure. #6 x 5/8" Machine Screw LED Light Gasket #6 Locknut Strobe Light Bracket 8. Repeat with the other LED light and gasket. 4. Plug the strobe light connector into the strobe light harness. Using the cable ties as needed, secure the harness to the strobe light bracket and existing motor cable. Driver-Side Harness Routing: 1. Feed the two-way trailer plug end of the shorter harness into the drilled hole behind the driver-side strobe light bracket. Thread the plug end through the 3" hole and into the electrical enclosure. 2. Plug the strobe light connector into the strobe light harness. 5 Mounting the Relay/Fuse Assembly: 1. Mount the relay/fuse assembly to the electrical enclosure box by pushing the connector clip on the back of the assembly into one of the holes in the top of the electrical enclosure box. Relay/Fuse Assembly Mounting Hole Electrical Connections 1. Plug the strobe light harness connectors into the matching connectors on the relay/fuse assembly harness. 2. Remove the cover from the isolated stud block. Electrical Enclosure Isolated Stud Block Relay/Fuse Assembly* * Wires not shown. 3. Connect the relay/fuse assembly harness red wires to the POSITIVE (+) terminal and the black wire to the NEGATIVE ( ) terminal. 4. Replace the cover, being careful not to pinch any wires. 5. Connect the single-pin terminal on the relay/fuse assembly harness (yellow wire) to the white wire coming from Port A of the spreader module. Lit. No , Rev September 1, 2016
