2 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WARNING! Turn engine off and allow all exhaust components to cool completely before proceeding. Disconnect battery before servicing. Wear gloves to protect your hands during installation. REMOVE THE RECOVERY TANK AND HEAT SHIELDS 1. Drain the recovery tank completely and shut off the solution tank valve. 2. SEE IGURES 1-4. Open the recovery tank by releasing the latch (A) located between the solution and recovery tank and tip open until support cable is tight.. Disconnect the squeegee hose from the tank and unplug the vacuum fan connector from the main harness. NOTE: If the extended scrub kit has been installed you will also need to disconnect the Wiring Connector (B) and Hose (C). 4. Unlatch the support cable (D). 5. With the help of an assistant tip the tank away from the machine and carefully lift the recovery tank off of the machine hinges (E) and set it aside. 6. Remove the two Heat Shields ( and G) to better access the exhaust pipes. Note that only three of the six screws (H) are shown in igure. 3 REMOVE THE EXISTING EXHAUST SYSTEM 7. Remove the Exhaust Blankets from the Head Pipe, Silencer and Tail Pipe. 8. If installing kits that come with a Catalytic Converter Blanket, then remove and discard the Catalytic Converter Blanket. 9. SEE IGURE 5. If applicable, remove the Oxygen Sensor from the Head Pipe (LEV models only). or LEV Models only (Kit ) IGURE 5 If applicable, remove the Oxygen Sensor from the Head Pipe IGURE SEE IGURE 6. Remove the clamp securing the Tail Pipe to the machine. NOTE: Save a Washer and Screw for installing the new Tail Pipe. Silencer Tail Pipe Remove the clamp securing the Tail Pipe to the machine 11. SEE IGURES 7 and 8. Remove the Head Pipe from the Catalytic Converter. NOTE: Save the hardware for installing the new Tail Pipe. 4 INSTALL THE NEW EXHAUST PIPE IGURE SEE IGURE 9. If applicable (LEV Models only), remove the old Gasket and install the new gasket (5) supplied with Kit LEV Models 5 mu 1. SEE IGURES 10 (LEV Models) and 11 (all other Models). Using the hardware previously removed, connect the new Tail Pipe to the Catalytic Converter but do not tighten the hardware at this time. 5 INSTALL THE NEW EXHAUST PIPE (CONTINUED) 14. SEE IGURE 12. Properly align the bottom half of the Tail Pipe to the machine and secure the Tail Pipe Hanger (4) to the machine using a previously removed Screw and Washer as shown. 15. Secure the Tail Pipe to the Catalytic Converter. 6 INSTALL THE NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER SHIELD (INSTRUCTIONS OR CUSTOMERS WHO REQUIRE OR ORDER INDIVIDUALLY THE OPTIONAL CATALYTIC CONVERTER BLANKET) 17. SEE IGURES Install the new Catalytic Converter Blanket as shown. 7 INSTALL THE NEW HEAT SHIELD 18. See igure 18. Loosen the two screws shown IGURE 18 Screws IGURE SEE IGURE 19. Hang the Head Shield onto the machine (like a picture frame) using the two screws loosened in step Using an Open End Wrench, securely tighten the two screws securing the Head Shield Place Shield over screws (like a picture frame) REINSTALL THE EXISTING HEAT SHIELDS 21. SEE IGURE. Reinstall the Exhaust Heat Shields that were removed in step 6. NOTE: Heat Shield (G) must be installed so that it is between the exhaust system and Heat Shield (H) as shown. REINSTALL THE RECOVERY TANK AND TEST THE MACHINE OR PROPER OPERATION 22. Reinstall the Recovery Tank that was removed in steps Reconnect the Battery. 24.
