This two-ferrule esign ensures constant an outstaning leak-tight connections. Superlok tube fitting users also benefit from a prouct which offers enhance flow characteristics ue to the exceptional internal surface finish of the fitting. 5

6 SUPERLOK Installation Instruction 1. Installation uner 1 inch or 25MM SUPERLOK Fittings are elivere to the customer in the assemble state, reay for immeiate use with only finger-tightening. Disassembling the prouct prior to use can be a cause of leakage or allow contamination to enter the tube fitting. Do not use with poor quality tubing, which can cause of leakage or functional eterioration. SUPERLOK Fittings are installe in three easy steps: Step 1 1. Insert tubing into the SUPERLOK tube fitting. Ensure that the tubing abuts firmly on the shouler of the fitting boy an that the nut is finger-tight.. Step 2 Before tightening the SUPERLOK nut clearly mark the nut at the 6 o clock position. Step1 Step 3 While holing fitting boy steay with a back up wrench, Note: For 1/16, 1/8, an 3/16 in.; 2, 3, an 4 mm tube fittings, tighten the nut 3/4 turn to the 3 o clock position. Installation in High-PressureSUPERLOK Fitting is installe accurately. After 1-1/4 revolution of the SUPERLOK nut by fingertightening, make sure whether it is sufficiently tightene using by the Gap Inspection Gage. Step2 Step3 6

7 2. IInstallation in High Pressure Applications or where High Safety Margins are require Follow steps 1 an 2 of the SUPERLOK Fitting Instructions. Tighten the nut until the tubing cannot rotate freely by han. Follow steps 3 an 4 of the SUPERLOK Fitting Instructions. Pic.1 Pic.2 Assembly Safety Gauge On initial installation, the SUPERLOK gap testing gauge shows that a fitting has been sufficiently tightene. Position the SUPERLOK gap inspection gauge next to the gap between the nut an boy. If the gauge will not enter the gap, the fitting is sufficiently tightene. If the gauge enters the gap, aitional tightening is require. Pic.3 3. Reassembly Instructions 1. Shows the isconnecte position of fittings. 2. Insert tubing with pre-swage ferrules into the fitting boy until the front ferrule seats.. 3. Finger-tighten the nut, then rotate to the original position with a wrench. At this point, a significant increase in resistance will be encountere. Tighten slightly with a wrench. Note: Do not use the gap inspection gauge with reassemble fittings. Coefficient of Tubing to calculate Temperature/ Pressure Change. Multiply the allowable working pressure in by the coefficient in the Table aboce in orer to calculate allowable pressure at high temperature. 58 Mounting Dimensions for O-Seal Connectors SOSC *ALLOW CLEARANCE FOR FULL THREAD Installation Instructions In orer to prevent leakage with SUPERLOK O-Seal Fittings, the surface perpenicular to the axis of the threa shoul be flat. When installing an O-Seal fitting, turn it until finger-tight.(the squeeze on O-Ring can be felt uring the last 1/4 turn). After finger-tight installation, snug lightly with a wrench. When connecting the tubing to the SUPERLOK connector, always use a back-up wrench on the O-Seal fitting hex so it oes not turn while the nut is being tightene. Also use a back-up wrench when isconnectiong a tubing connection. For a raise surface, such as Figure 1, it is recommene that the flat surface have a iameter at least as large as imension A for the various size O-Seal fittings. This iameter is sufficient to allow metal-to-metal contact outsie of the O-Ring sealing iameter an to prevent O-Ring extrusion at high pressure. Figure 2 is an O-Seal fitting using a counter bore or recesse hole. In this case, the iameter B is sufficient to allow the roun shouler of the O-seal to clear for proper installation.
