Arranging Loose Brackets What is a loose pipe bracket? A loose pipe bracket is a bracket which allows axial movement of the pipe, to allow stress free compensation of temperature changes an compensation of any other operating conition changes. Arranging fixe points What is a fixe point? A fixe pipe bracket is a bracket which prevents the pipe from moving in any irection. The aim of which is to control system stresses cause by temperature changes. NOTICE Construction of fixpoint This shoul not be one by simply clamping the bracket onto the outsie of the pipe! This can cause eformation an physical amage to the pipe, amage that sometimes only later becomes visible. It shoul be one either by using pipe brackets locate between two fittings or a ouble bracket must be use.(ouble-sie fixe point). Placing a pipe bracket ieiately ajacent to a fitting restricts movement ue to changes in length to one irection (one-sie fixe point). The inner iameter of the bracket shoul be larger than the outsie iameter of the pipe to allow free movement of the pipe. The inner eges of the brackets shoul be free from any sharp contours which coul amage the plastic. If the brackets insie iameter is not larger than the pipe then the bracket shoul not be fully tightene, thus allowing the pipe to move. Another metho is to use brackets with spacers which also avois clamping the bracket on the pipe. ouble-sie fixe point one-sie fixe point Information: Pipe brackets must be robust an mounte firmly to be able to take up the forces arising from changes in length in the pipeline. Hanging brackets or KLIP-IT pipe brackets are unsuitable for use as fixe points. KLIP-IT pipe brackets These robust plastic pipe brackets can be use not only uner rigorous operating conitions, but also where the pipework is subject to aggressive meia or atmospheric conitions. They may be use for all materials of pipes. Don't use KLIP-IT pipe brackets as fixe points! Spacer to avoi clamping Axial movement of the pipeline must not be prevente by fittings place next to pipe brackets or by any other component affecting the iameter of the pipe.
