3 1. Park Sants, Twn f Sušice, Czech Republic Park Sants is lcated near t the city centre by the riverside. Ttally, 36 ples are placed in tw supply sides (see red and red/blue lines). Area functinality Urban frest park was funded n the island f Sants befre the first Wrld War and during the First Republic became the centre f scial life in Sušice. After the war, it began t deterirate due t the lack f maintenance but remained a ppular place fr recreatin. In 2013, it was renvated and is nw a ppular place f relaxatin and leisure activities. Als it acts as a link between tw parts f the city and the histric centre fr pedestrians and cyclists. It is therefre imprtant link in the city Analysis f the built envirnment and layut, zning The area cnsists f several buildings (grunds) built during pervius century (mainly in latest 5 decades) and within the park frm entertainment cmplex fr sprt and leisure time. The public swimming pl, athletic stadium, indr stadium, tennis curts, htel and restaurant are lcated in this area. The defined area has been surveyed t arrive at an verview f the current situatin. Fig.2 depicts a basic land use pattern and zning f the site. As it can be bserved this area is predminantly recreatinal with sparse sprts fields. Stakehlder analysis This sectin carefully analyses the different stakehlders and users in the study area and their specific demands and needs t ensure the fulfilment f fulfil the requirements f all the users. It identifies which stakehlders are dminant r which stakehlder demands are imprtant. Thrugh the integratin f stakehlders int the lighting plan, the lighting plan can respnd t the cntext and users f the space. The identificatin f prblems, needs, expectatins and desires frm public lighting f the different stakehlder is identified by using the fllwing methds: - Questinnaires aimed at the users Investigatins int the level f awareness, knwledge and acceptance f dynamic lighting cntrl systems fr public lighting. Investigatins int the site specific prblems, needs and expectatins f the different users at the specific pilt site. - Questinnaire aimed at the municipalities - Investigatins int the level f awareness, knwledge and acceptance f dynamic lighting cntrl systems fr public lighting applicatins. - Field bservatins t investigate the use f the part during the year (Number f users, Time f use, frequency, Activities as a functin f time). Cnducted during the Spring Ttally 7 tracked days, 4 wrking days, saturday and sunday. The designed questins, in bth questinnaires, were measureable and cmparable. Fr that reasn, the questins have a yes/n frm r very shrt pen questins. The cntrlled interviews were used t filling up the questinnaire t ensure prper fulfilment f all relevant questins/infrmatin. Ttally, 29 questinnaires have been cllected (tw frm municipal representatives, tw frm restaurants and 25 frm general public attending park Sants). All the data were taken during spring, 2017 in the Sants park, Twn f Sušice. 7 Frm the general pint f view, Twn f Sušice has remarkable interest in dynamic public lighting utilisatin but raising frm cnducted survey, municipal representatives mentined several cre pints which are stressed in frm f shrt SWOT analysis belw. Amng the remarkable strengths belngs the municipal interest in future implementatin backing with high energy saving ptential and imprving feeling f security and safety at night, up. On the ther hand, cre general weaknesses are a decisin-making prcess (plitical), investment csts and lack f awareness f lcal pliticians and general public. Leading pprtunity in Twn f Sušice (as well as in Czech Republic as a whle) are seen gvernment incentives fr implementatin f dynamic lighting; as main threat is taken int cnsideratin the ecnmic demands f the investments int dynamic public lighting aviding municipal representatives t d s. The Twn f Sušice is already aware f dynamic lighting cntrl strategies as well as is aware f the advantages ffered by a dynamic lighting cntrl system fr public lighting. Overall, municipal representatives have enugh infrmatin and knwledge abut dynamic public lighting. This is given by their lw expectatin abut public lighting quality partly. At the same time, mre than 40 % f park users are nt using it during the night-time, therefre they d nt care. Regarding the purpse which have the citizens attending the park, bserved purpses are almst equal t each ther (thanks fr the lcatin f the park in the city centre, mainly). 10 The interesting results were received regarding citizen s satisfactin with the quality f illuminatin in the park. Mstly the peple were satisfied, especially the elderly peple, wh were cmpletely satisfied with the current lighting situatin because they usually visit the park during the daytime. Only 24 % f respndents are unhappy with the quality f public lighting. Anther 24 % answered that they are smewhat aware which in general might mean that these peple have just heard smething abut that r they cnsider smething different but nt the public lighting. The cnclusin is that nly 1 frm 6 citizens is aware abut dynamic public lighting (see figure belw). 11 Analysis f final users Accrding t results f the survey, the majrity f respndents use the park ''Sants'' a few times per week (52 %) fr all types f activities such as cycling r walking, relax meeting with friends fr a dinner r drink, walking and playing with children and dgs, jgging and ther sprts.16 % f the respndents visit ''Sants'' park everyday but nly in a day time. This is an imprtant issue which shuld be held in mind when designing the dynamic public lighting. The results shw that 95 % f respndents visit the park during the summer as it is a ppular place fr leisure activities. The autumn time is quite similar t spring time. The same peple cme back frm wrk/study between 17 and 20 hurs. The ppular time fr active leisure activities and recreatin is between 8 and 20 hurs. At this time mthers usually visit the park with babies fr walking and play n a playgrund, elderly peple cme fr walking and peple f all ages use the park fr cycling. After 15 clck the park is used fr meetings after wrk. 15 3. Built envirnement 3.1. Analysis f changing lighting requirements in space Street, walkway and pedestrian zne gemetry The area in urban park f twn Sušice is used by pedestrians, cyclists and by ther residents fr varius free time activities. Whle area cntains walkways f width by 4 meters alng a river and int a frest park. In Sants Park are placed a playgrund, small pedestrian zne trugh urban greenery with benches and pen area near the restaurant. Prminent pen spaces, Primary traffic rutes Inside the specified area there are n prminent pen spaces except the playgrund. A traffic rute is placed n edge f the Park. The traffic rute cnnects tw parking lts with a main rad Pedestrian rutes- Resident mvement, ffice wrkers, recreatinal, turists etc. Pedestrian rutes are used primary by residents during afternn and night fr relaxing activities. In summer are pedestrian rutes used by city visitr and turist especially during city celebratins. Rutes in the park can be seen in Fig. 16. All used LED luminaires will be equipped by autnmus driver t ensure dynamic cntrl. Used LED mdules in the luminaires have t use a technlgy t ensure cnstant luminus flux f LEDs in the prcess f aging. The dynamics cntrl will be prvided by several methds. The base methd is the driving f luminance r illuminatin accrding t time schedule. The time schedule is variable in time and is dependent n the seasn. Time schedule f the lighting pints can be different. Page 22

23 The ther cntrl element is an ambient illuminance sensr (twilight sensr). Each grup f light pints in ne zne will be cntrlled separately. If it is needed the grup f light pints culd be equipped by additinal twilight sensr sensrs. The next cntrlling is based n presence sensr (light and mtin sensr). The presence sensr ensures several tasks. The sensr detects the ccurrence f peple in the viewing area. Next task is tracking the directin f mvement and analysis (predictin) f directin f further mvement. The predictin is calculated by cntrl gear f dynamics lighting. The last task f the mvement sensr is recrding the number f passing-thrugh peple. 24 4. Lighting analysis and cnditins survey 4.1. Analysis f the existing lighting cnditins Street lighting system is installed alng walkway f 4 meters width, mainly. The lighting ples are 6 meters high withut arms. Mre than half amunt f the ples is lder than 30 years (Fig. 30). Almst all ples are placed in ne line between full-grwn trees. Several light ples are placed ut f the lcatin where are needed and it must be shifted (see Fig. 24.). Fig. 30. Mrever, the luminaires are shaded by trees (Fig.30) In luminaires, 70-watt high pressure sdium lamps are installed with cnventinal electrmagnetic ballast. In park Sants, 19 pieces f these lamps are installed at all. Part f the park Sants is renvated; the lighting systems with mdern luminaries is installed, as it is shwn in Fig. 31. Ttal amunt f this luminaires is 17 and are equipped by 70-watt metal-halide reflectr lamps. This part f lighting system will be partly renvated. It is suggested that electrmagnetic ballast will be changed fr dimmable electrnic ballast with daily system cntrl. Finally, whle lighting system will be equipped by ther sensrs and autnmus cntrl gear. The existing lighting system is nt cntrlled anyway. Page 24
