Excise & Taxation Minister (Sh. Vinod Kumar Sharma): Sir, (a) There are no Protected Forests located on the lands of Farmers. However, the land adjoining the Agricultural fields on either side of Rail, Road, Canal is a protected forest, details of which are given in Annexure-A. (b) The district-wise, year-wise and species-wise details of numbers of trees and their volume released to the farmers in lieu of their claim between April, 1999 to March, 2005 is given in Annexure-B. The claim has been released only in terms of the number and volume not of trees and not in value.

Mostly people of villages in Tosham are purchasing potable water. Mr. Speaker Sir, I would like to ask the Hon'ble Minister as to what steps are being taken by the Government to form coordination between Power, Public Health Irrigation Departments to provide proper power supply to this area so that potable water can reach to the people concerned? 72 would like to inform the Hon'ble Members that sometimes there is some genuine difficulties on account of some lack of coordination. Speaker Sir, if there is no power, we cannot run our stations. Consequently, at that time they will not be able to supply the drinking water. Similarly, Speaker Sir, we are largely based on the water supply being given by the Irrigation Department which has also its own problem. We are seriously examining this issue and where there is a need, we are tryinpo coordinate with each other. I am certain that the problem would be sorted out very soon. The Government is still new. We are looking into the problems particularly which the Hon'ble Member from Tosham has mentioned. We know the entire Bhiwani district does face the same problem. This problem is also in the Southern Haryana belt. Speaker Sir, we have also devised a new scheme particularly for the Southern Haryana. If, I remember correctly it is about Rs. 4,005 crores there is a scheme which will serve the water primarily to Mewat and to its adjoining areas, through Rainy Well which are going to dig near Sonepat on the Yamuna belt. Speaker sir, this is a unique scheme that our Chief Minister has devised. Consequently, we will be taking pipe water to a distance nearly 40 to 50 kilometers. The phase-1 of this scheme is over. 200 crores rupees have been sanctioned. Tenders have also been given. I think work will start very soon.
