Thi new mobile inverter mot importantly feature native CAN communication (including SAE J13) a well a the widet DC input voltage range on the market. The EC-30/38-B180 erie, that bring Rotrex' two bigget compreor range into the high-power operating regime, with electrical compreor power of up to 60kW. General decription of the E-charger compreor ytem Due to recent uccee with an electrification of the Rotrex Supercharger portfolio, Rotrex i now able to offer complete E-Charger compreor ytem for variou indutrial, proce engineering, educational, automotive, mobile and green energy application. The E-Charger i equally well uited for permanently intalled indutrial application, reearch and development on mobile olution in laboratory environment, a well a mobile and automotive application in the field. Typical application for the automotive/mobile ytem are: Air pump for fuel cell (10kW - 1MW output), prebooter for downized turbocharged engine, forced exhaut ga recirculation, particle filter regeneration ytem etc. The E-charger prototype i available in two ditinct phyical package, baed on either the type "B-138" electric motor (approximately 20kW power output) and the type "B-180" electric motor (with approximately 60kW power output).

2 Page 2 of 7 The Rotrex E-charger compreor are baed on Rotrex traction drive technology, and come in four different ize. Thee are the C8, C1, C30 and C38. Each of thee traction drive ize are available with typically 2-4 different centrifugal compreor etup, known a ub-trim. With a total of four different traction drive ize and no le than 12 different tandard ub-trim, a ub-trim can be found to match nearly any aerodynamic operating point, reulting in the highet poible compreor efficiency for each application. E-charger baed on the Type-B138 electric motor are available in the entire C8, C1, C30 and C38 range, while only the C30 and C38 variant are available with the Type-B180 electric motor. For application requiring very high ma flow at low compreion ratio, which cannot be obtained with the EC8 and EC1 E-charger, a combination of Type B138 motor and overized C30 and C38 compreor can be excellent olution. A compreor dataheet on each traction drive ize, including compreor map for each ub-trim, i available for download at (under technology/technical data). Cutomized aerodynamic etup can alo be developed. The compreor themelve feature an integrated dual-action oil pump, that work a a dry ump cavenging pump in addition to being the oil upply pump. A mall oil filter and oil caniter i mounted externally by the ytem deigner, along with an oil cooler. An oil radiator (cooled by fan air) or optionally a water cooled oil cooler (liquid-liquid heat-exchanger) i required for keeping the oil temperature within the allowable range. 3 Page 3 of 7 The Rotrex C-type compreor ha been developed and extenively teted with the pecial Rotrex traction fluid. To maintain performance and durability it i very important that the unit i run excluively with the pecial Rotrex traction fluid. Full attention mut be paid to enure that the oil inlet temperature to the compreor i never exceeded (maximum 80 C oil in temperature). The high peed permanent magnet ynchronou motor (PMSM) in the E-charger are joined to the compreor head unit through a high peed direct drive coupling ytem. The reult i a mall, fully encloed, compact and rugged E-charger unit, with an IP67 ingre protection claification and no expoed nagging or rotating mechanical part to look out for. Mechanical vibration are nearly abent due to the direct-drive connection, the lack of toothed gear and the extreme peed of the centrifugal compreor. The E-charger i upplied with rubber hock dampener to protect the E-charger from external hock and vibration. The NEW RPCS730 automotive rated mobile inverter Rotrex alo proudly preet a brand new RPCS 730, IP67/IP6 automotive rated mobile inverter from REFUdrive. Notable feature of the RPCS 730 are the native CAN SAE J13 communication along with the widet DC input voltage range on the market: VDC (with the output power till governed by the maximum output current). The RPCS 730 i water cooled, imilarly to the Type-B138 and Type-B180 electric motor. Combined with the liquid-liquid heat-exchanger oil cooling option, the entire ytem i completely ealed from dirt and contamination, capable at operating in extreme engine compartment environment, with no preventive maintenance required. Specification for the RPCS 730 can be found on the lat page. Thi preently available RPCS 730 i in the range of ~60A output current 60VDC), and more powerful verion are currently under development. 4 Page 4 of 7 The Parker AC30 inverter range for "indutrial" application The compreor characteritic of the E-charger make them quite applicable for a wide range of tationary application in the indutrial egment where 3-phae VAC i commonly available. A the E- charger outperform all other compreor technologie in the low preure egment, with repect to compreor efficiency and power denity, the E- charger can be ued in uch divere application a green houe praying, granulate tranport, cooling, drying, wate water treatment, fuel cell backup power, UPS ytem etc. Sytem limitation and condition With E-Charger prototype ytem being offered a reearch and development ytem, a number of limitation and condition are aociated with the ue of thee ytem. The Parker AC30 inverter (reproduced with permiion) The ytem developer i olely reponible for the proper electrical wiring of the component, including the fulfillment of all local and national electrical regulation and law. Furthermore, both the motor and the inverter mut be properly grounded to Protective Earth (PE) in tationary intallation. Rotrex cannot take reponibility for the electrical characteritic of cutomer intallation. All cable and cable acceorie (between the E-charger and the inverter) are delivered along with the E-charger ytem, but ome minor manual cable aembly work i required. Aembly guide are a part of the tandard information and documentation package accompanying the E-charger. The maximum power output of the E-charger i dependent on the combination of a number of factor uch a compreor ize, cooling water temperature, inverter input voltage, inverter current limit and motor winding temperature. Regardle of how the ytem developer run the E-charger, the maximum motor winding temperature on both motor type i 130 C. Both inverter type are fitted with a trip ytem, that hut down the E-charger in the event of exceive motor winding temperature, preventing permanent ytem damage. A wide range of incident can effectively be prevented with thi afety ytem, a the common root caue i exceive winding temperature. The E-charger unit i fundamentally deigned to keep all internal rotating part contained in a wort cae cenario mechanical failure, but proper meaure mut be taken by the ytem developer to enure that no human injury can occur in the unlikely event of a complete mechanical failure. Any E-Charger ytem mut be allowed a full 10 minute de-energizing period after complete removal of power, before any mechanical work on the E-charger ytem can commence. Deviation from the tandard Rotrex oil circuit component can damage the E-charger. Rotrex offer the E-Charger ytem a laboratory type development kit for highly killed and experienced peronnel, requiring that the ytem developer i obliged to treat it a uch. The Rotrex E-charger ytem and all ubytem are old a a ubytem for integration into other product and are therefore not to be conidered a finihed product in themelve. Rotrex i currently only offering limited warranty on the E-charger ytem. Thi i a conequence of the E- charger being in continuou development, where cutomer are offered early acce to the technology, in exchange for contributing in field trial of the ytem. The growing internal Rotrex databae on E-charger extended endurance teting indicate a very rugged and dependable ytem, however it ha not yet been releaed for production durability. In general, durability and life time depend heavily on the duty cycle of the application. Pleae contact Rotrex for more information on duty cycle conideration.
