3 Calculation FILTER SIZG THE CORRECT FILTER SIZG HAVE TO BE BASED ON THE TOTAL PRESSURE DROP DEPENDG BY THE APPLICATION. FOR EXAMPLE, THE MAXIMUM TOTAL PRESSURE DROP ALLOWED BY A NEW AND CLEAN RETURN FILTER HAVE TO BE THE RANGE bar. The pressure drop calculation is performed by adding together the value of the housing with the value of the filter. The pressure drop pc of the housing is proportional to the fluid density (kg/dm ); all the graphs in the catalogue are referred to mineral oil with density of 0.86 kg/dm. The filter pressure drop pe is proportional to its viscosity (mm /s), the corrective factor Y have to be used in case of an oil viscosity different than 0 mm /s (cst). Calculation: pc = 0.0 bar (see graphic below) Δp bar MPT 0 - Length * G / Flow rate l/min housings p pressure drop. The curves are plotted using mineral oil with density of 0.86 kg/dm in compliance with ISO 968. p varies proportionally with density. In case the allowed max total pressure drop is not verified, it is necessary to repeat the calculation changing the filter length/size. 8 LMP GENERAL FORMATION Description Technical data Low & Medium Pressure fi lters Maximum working pressure up to.5 MPa (5 bar) Flow rate up to 000 l/min LMP95, LMP95 and LMP95 are ranges of low pressure fi lter with large fi ltration surface mainly suitable for lubrication, off-line fi ltration of the reservoirs and fi ltration equipment. Multiple LMP950 filters are connected to a manifold to reduce the pressure drop caused by the fi lter media and to increase the life time of the fi lter. They are directly connected to the lines of the system through the hydraulic fi ttings.
