3 Calculation FILTER SIZING THE CORRECT FILTER SIZING HAVE TO BE BASED ON THE TOTAL PRESSURE DROP DEPENDING BY THE APPLICATION. FOR EXAMPLE, THE MAXIMUM TOTAL PRESSURE DROP ALLOWED BY A NEW AND CLEAN RETURN FILTER HAVE TO BE IN THE RANGE bar. The pressure drop calculation is performed by adding together the value of the housing with the value of the filter. The pressure drop pc of the housing is proportional to the fluid density (kg/dm ); all the graphs in the catalogue are referred to mineral oil with density of 0.86 kg/dm. The filter pressure drop pe is proportional to its viscosity (mm /s), the corrective factor Y have to be used in case of an oil viscosity different than 0 mm /s (cst). Calculation: pc = 0.0 bar (see graphic below) Δp bar MPT 0 Length * G / Flow rate l/min housings p pressure drop. 8 LDP & GENERAL INFORMATION Descriptions Technical data Low & Medium Pressure fi lters Maximum working pressure up to 6 MPa (60 bar) Flow rate up to 0 l/min LDP is a range of versatile low pressure fi lter for transmission, protection of sensitive components in low pressure hydraulic systems and fi ltration of the coolant into the machine tools. They are also suitable for the offline fi ltration of small reservoirs. They are directly connected to the lines of the system through the hydraulic fi ttings. Available features: Female threaded connections up to /, for a maximum return fl ow rate of 0 l/min designed in accordance with DIN 550 regulation Fine fi ltration rating, to get a good cleanliness level into the system Water removal s, to remove the free water from the hydraulic fl uid Bypass valve, to relieve excessive pressure drop across the fi lter media Visual, electrical and electronic differential clogging indicators Common applications: Delivery lines, in low pressure industrial equipment or mobile machines is a range of versatile low pressure duplex fi lter with integrated changeover function to allow the fi lter replacement without the system shutdown. They are directly connected to the lines of the system through the hydraulic fi ttings.
