2 President s Notes Hello Everyone, I hope that you had a great April and are getting ready for more car events in May and our BIG event in June.

3 Mother Nature put a dent in our first event this year with a threat of rain that never materialized and the day was a very nice one. Looks like we ll try that one again at AIM bank sometime after our annual car show. We can talk about it at the upcoming meeting. There are several events, as Mike has outlined in the newsletter and on the web that are occurring in May. The Snyder show and the Hub City swap meet are a couple of the local area events that bring a lot of interest. As far as our show, just a reminder that get those freebies, promotional items from businesses that we can add to our ditty bags. Pens, note pads, letter openers, air gauges, we need whatever you can get. Also, please pick up some door a door prize so that we have some good items to give during the day at Wayland. Hope you can join us on May 5th at Red Zone. Mike's Thoughts Welcome to May, and one month closer to our car show. The Blue Ribbon Rally was a success for the Family Guidance & Outreach Center again with our club parking 303 cars in less than 3 hours. Many thanks to all who came out to help. There were a bunch of Mustangs there and the Lubbock Mustang Club was well represented. As usual, you can check out all the coming events for May on the web site coming events page, but two of special interest to us are The 2 nd Annual Hub City Swap Meet & Car Show at the O Reilly Warehouse & The Sonic Car Cruise to Awesome 98 Summer Splash at Buffalo Lake. The Swap Meet & Car Show benefits local veterans and some of us will be helping out with that. Anyone interested in helping, let me know. The Summer Splash that evening provides a police escort to the lake and special parking for the music and festivities that night. Our club is listed in the advertising as attending. A lot more information on both events will be coming on the web site and Facebook page in the days to come. I have to repeat what John said about goodies for our Car Show. We would like for every family to be able to bring one door prize. This can be car related or not, look for tools or other stuff on sale where you shop, or someone you shop with might donate something. We also need small stuff for the ditty bags. It s actually good advertising for a business that already has pens or other promotional items on hand, so don t be shy about asking. You can start bringing stuff to the next Meeting.

4 Last but not least, don t forget the Boogie Party on the Playground next June 4 th and, of course, our 34 th Annual Lubbock Mustang Club Mustang Roundup & Car Show is the following Saturday, June 11 th. Coffee & Cars for May is Saturday the 7 th and our meeting is Thursday the 5 th. APRIL MEETING MINUTES President John Robison called meeting to order----we had 28 members and 4 guests present. 1. Minutes were read and approved for March 2016.

5 2. Ronnie gave budget report---we have $5, with all bills paid. 3. Talking to Racer Car Wash about being a major sponsor. 4. Mustang birthday party for April 16th---Larry needs help cooking---aim Bank will supply the meat. 5. Dennis gave report for the MCA. 6. Talked about club paying for officers membership for MCA. 7. Posters for the car show in June are here flyers will be done. 8. The tee shirt art work in done---larry working with company that will be doing our shirts this year. Shirts will be black in color this year. Mike has awards ordered--- goodie bags, door prizes and cooking will be taken care of. 9. Ronnie is looking into the club getting debit card---(approved). 10. Mike talked about the Birthday Party and Challenger Little League opening date April 9th. 11. Meeting adjourned.
