3 PRESIDENT'S NOTES Happy Valentine s Day! It s February and our meeting with be February 4 th at Red Zone café. We have some great news in that we have a new major sponsor, Brad Birdsong Automotive, Frankford. I ve known Brad for many years and he s an excellent mechanic and has expanded his business. He hopes to make the February meeting to give us all the details on his operation and get to know the members. We have AIM bank and Pollard returning this year and hope to continue with NAPA as a major sponsor. If you have anyone that would be interested in being a sponsor, from just a small ad to a major one, please let one of the officers know. We are now 5 months, including February till the new Car Show date so Chuck and his crew are moving ahead with all aspects of the show. We need your input so please make an effort to attend. 4 It s great to have Birdsong automotive on board as a major sponsor. Brad is a good man and is the one who is finishing the red 64 ½ convertible that Charlie Ricks had done such great work on. His contribution is most welcome and will help us do more good in the community. Our major sponsors, Aim Bank, NAPA Pollard Ford and now Birdsong Automotive are the ones that make what we do possible. We also have associate sponsors, All Star Embroidery, Legal Sheild, Rock 101 and our friends at Wayland Baptist University. Please remember all these businesses when spending your hard earned money and promote them when you have friends needing their services. Our membership meeting for February is this Thursday the 4 th and I hope to have some examples of car show trophies to show for your consideration. Coffee & Cars is Saturday the 6 th and the Decatur Swap Meet is end of the month. Check out the web site Coming Events page for all upcoming car events. I add them as soon as I find out about them. JANUARY MEETING MINUTES President John Robison call the meeting to order----we had 28 members at this meeting---good crowd. We had a guest from one of the original Lubbock Mustang Club---John talked to him. The man told John this club would be 50 years old, our club started in I was a member of another Lubbock Mustang Club back in 1968 when we met a Pollard Ford down town Lubbock---I can t remember any of the members from back then. 1. John reminded everyone that dues for membership are due this month----pay them to Ronnie or send to mail box. 2. Ronnie gave finical report after all bills and scholarships have been paid--$4, in our account. 3. John talked about the number of members in the Lubbock Mustang Club members------this is great. 4. John visited with a man that said he was in the original Mustang Club here in Lubbock.

5 5. John asked the members if we needed to raise the sponsorship amount----the amount will be left as it is now. 6. Ronnie will check on insurance for our car show----in case we have rain that weekend. 7. The Lubbock Mustang Club Birthday car show at Aim Bank on Slide Road will be held Saturday April 16 th. Larry Rasco will be cooking hamburgers again for this event. 8. The 18 th Blue Ribbon Rally will be held on April 30 th. 9. Dennis Quattlebaum gave report on what is going on with MCA---they are working towards getting all Mustangs involved on the weekend of April 16 & 17 th. We need to send a new roster of our club members to MCA. 10. Dennis talked about the Mustang Fest October 1 st -----the Mustang run from Mustang Oklahoma to Mustang Island Texas. The membership fee for the MCA is $ The 34 th Annual Lubbock Mustang Club Mustang Roundup & Car Show will be held June 11 th. 12. Chuck & Jeff talked about redoing the graphics for the posters and flyers, and using the new graphics for our new tee shirts---larry told Chuck to let him know ASAP about what we are putting on our tee shirts so we can get that started. 13. Mike has the judges already lined up---jeff has the rooms for these judges, Mike will get the trophies for the car show. 14. Chuck & John discussed the sound system with the group----everything should work correctly this year. 15. John discussed adding more venders this year---this will be looked into by several members. 16. Slaton Bakery will be contacted about being a vendor Tommy & Linda will check on this. 17. Jeff will work with the radio DJ. 18. Gordon has Lubbock Mustang Club Cards----we use these cards to put on Mustangs when you see one around the area----this is an invitation to join our club. 19.
