3 Hi to all again, Well, the year is fast coming to an end and the club has only one more club day at Boonah to go, then we have until the 16th February to get our cars all checked over. So far this year we have had pretty good attendances in the way of cars and people helping out on the days but more are always welcome so thanks to all those who participated. Over the last few months we have had quite a few new members join our club and that is boosting our car numbers to a very healthy level back to where it was several years ago, as you would be aware some cars have been sold and gone interstate while others have stayed here. On Saturday 3rd November at Boonah the HSAA presented our Chief Steward, Brian Farley with a Life Membership award as we all know Brian spends an awful lot of his time preparing and maintaining the track to give us a great venue on which to have fun. Congratulations Brian on your award. The last few months I have been coping a lot of flack over some of the rulings from Speedway Australia regarding seat belts, helmets and now the use of arm restraints or window nets. I have to agree with the seat belt and helmet ruling as I think my life is worth more than a few hundred dollars (some might disagree), but not totally agree with the need for nets or arm restraints in the vintage movement. This means if you wish to run on a Speedway Australia controlled track these rulings MUST be abided by. Should any person have an issue with anything involving the club, please do not hesitate to contact me so that it can be resolved and put to rest and not let fester out of proportion. Life is too short and while here, I intend to make the most of it. To all those members and friends who have not been in the best of health in recent times I wish you all the best in your recovery and hope to see you soon. As this will be the last newsletter this year I would like to wish all members and your families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
