9 SLIM-SPLIT-BEARING Technical escription escription of shape A thin ring bearing generally means a single-row bearing, which has unepenant of the bore iameter stable quaratic cross-cuts within one type series. The main characteristic features of these bearings are their extremely thin-walle bearing rings. The KMF SLIM-SPLIT-BEARING is a four point contact ball bearing, which is able to take loas from all irections, such as axial, raial an moment loas, ue to the pressure angle of 90. Operating conitions The temperature limits of the stanar bearing in continuous operation are -40 C an +100 C, for short perios up to +10 C. For special applications with higher temperatures or for example in clean room, vacuum or meic technical ifferent options are possible; ceramic balls or aitional cage alternatives with ifferent materials like Teflon, PEEK, PTFE or PVF are also available. Sealing The bearing rings are manufacture by a special manufacturing process, which profiles, harens an bens the rings in one single operation without any mechanical work. The bearing rings are not close, but remain opene. That s why they have characteristics of wire ball bearing insert elements, but it is more easy to assemble complete units. The KMF-SLIM-SPLIT-BEARING is not seale. If a sealing system is necessary, it can be integrate irectly in the surrouning construction. Alternatively to conventional sealing systems in the market, KMF offers profile seals as yar-goos mae of Perbunan in many ifferent styles an shapes. (see page 86 Accesoires Sealing Profiles). The opene bearing rings enable the integration of a cage strip with hole an guie balls. A raceway system with more an bigger balls coul be realise. Compare with the classic thin section bearings, higher static an ynamic loa capacities can be achieve. Materials The KMF-SLIM-SPLIT-BEARINGS are manufacture in stainless steel. Precision The bearing rings of the type series SLIM-SPLIT-BEAR- ING are very accurate in shape. The ifference of the even-thickness between raceway an insie or outsie iameter is really small. That s why the axial raial precision of the bearings is greatly influence by the precision of the connecting parts. The connecting parts shoul be constructe in a way that all iameters an faces that stay in relation to each other are machine in one spanning operation, if possible. These iffrent colors make it easy to fin the most suitable bearing version. Lubrication In orer to increase the nominal service life, Lubrication is an important criteria. For 90 % of all bearing applications in stanar operations, grease is sufficient. Grease of the consistency-class an 3 (acc. to IN 51818) is preferre. The grease prevents the irect contact between rolling element, raceway an cage an minimises therefore the friction. This minimises the abrasion an increases lifetime. As the lubricant for KMF-SLIM-SPLIT-BEARING has not the function to protect the bearing from corrosion, relatively small amounts of grease is sufficient for a reliable function. The KMF-SLIM-SPLIT-BEARING is equippe stanarly with a pregreasing using ALVANIA EP (Shell), which functions as a permanent lubrication at normal operating conitions.
