9 FEATURES OF YOUR HYUNDA 1. FEATURES OF YOUR HYUNDA B010A01O-GAT FUEL RECOMMENDATONS Use Unleaded Gasline NOTE: Fr sme cuntries, Hyundai vehicles are designed t use leaded gasline. When yu are ging t use leaded gasline, ask t Hyundai dealer whether leaded gasline in yur vehicle is available r nt. Octane Rating f leaded gasline is same with unleaded ne. B010B01A-AAT What Abut Gashl? Gashl (a mixture f 90% unleaded gasline and 10% ethanl r grain alchl) may be used in yur Hyundai. Hwever, if yur engine develps driveability prblems, the use f 100% unleaded gasline is recmmended. Fuels with unspecified quantities f alchl, r alchls ther than ethanl, shuld nt be used. 1 B010A01FC-1 Unleaded gasline with a Pump Octane Rating f 87 (Research Octane Number 91) r higher must be used in Hyundai vehicle. f leaded gasline is used, it will cause the catalytic cnverter t becme ineffective and the emissin cntrl system t malfunctin. This can als result in increased maintenance expense. T avid accidental use f leaded fuel, the large nzzle used with leaded gasline at service statins can nt be inserted int fuel tank pening f Hyundai vehicle. Use Diesel Diesel fuel f 52 t 54 cetane is used in Hyundai vehicle. f tw types f diesel fuel are available, use summer r winter fuel prperly accrding t the fllwing temperature cnditins. Abve -5 C (23 F)... Summer type diesel fuel. Belw -5 C (23 F)... Winter type diesel fuel. Watch the fuel level in the tank very carefully : f the engine stps thrugh fuel failure, the circuits must be cmpletely purged t permit restarting. CAUTON: D nt let any gasline r water enter the tank. This wuld make it necessary t drain it ut and t bleed the lines t avid jamming the injectin pump and damaging the engine. n winter, in rder t cut dwn incidents due t freezing, paraffin il may be added t the fuel if the temperature drps t belw -10 C. Never use mre than 20% paraffin il. B010D01S-AAT D nt Use Methanl Fuels cntaining methanl (wd alchl) shuld nt be used in yur Hyundai. This type f fuel can reduce vehicle perfrmance and damage cmpnents f the fuel system. CAUTON: Yur Hyundai's New Vehicle Limited Warranty may nt cver damage t the fuel system and perfrmance prblems that are caused by the use f methanl r fuels cntaining methanl. B010E01A-AAT Gaslines fr Cleaner Air T help cntribute t cleaner air, Hyundai recmmends that yu use gaslines treated with detergent additives, which help prevent depsit frmatin in the engine. Determine that acceptable fuel is available. B020A01S-GAT BREAKNG N YOUR NEW HYUNDA During the First 2,000 Km (1,200 Miles) (Gasline Engine) N frmal "break-in" prcedure is required with yur new Hyundai. Hwever, yu can cntribute t the ecnmical peratin and durability f yur Hyundai by bserving the fllwing recmmendatins during the first 2,000 km (1,200 miles). Dn't drive faster than 88 km/h (55 mph). While driving, keep yur engine speed (rpm, r revlutins per minute) between 2,000 rpm and 4,000 rpm. Use mderate acceleratin. Dn't start, depress the acceleratr pedal fully. Fr the first 300 km (200 miles), try t avid hard stps. Dn't lug the engine (in ther wrds, dn't drive s slwly in thigh a gear that the engine "bucks": shift t a lwer gear). Whether ging fast r slw, vary yur speed frm time t time. FEATURES OF YOUR HYUNDA Dn't let the engine idle lnger than 3 minutes at ne time. B030A01A-AAT KEYS B030A01E Fr greater cnvenience, the same key perates all the lcks in yur Hyundai. Hwever, because the drs can be lcked withut a key, carrying a spare key is recmmended in case yu accidentally lck ne key inside the car.

11 B030B01A-AAT Recrd Yur Key Number FEATURES OF YOUR HYUNDA B880A01A-GAT MMOBLZER SYSTEM (f nstalled) The immbilizer system is an anti-theft device, designed t deter autmbile theft. B880C02A-GAT Key Numbers B880B03A-GAT Keys B030B01E A cde number is stamped n the number plate that came with the keys t yur Hyundai. This key number plate shuld nt be left with the keys but kept in a safe place, nt in the vehicle. The key number shuld als be recrded in a place where it can be fund in an emergency. f yu need additinal keys, r if yu shuld lse yur keys, yur authrized Hyundai dealer can make new keys if yu can supply the key number. AX10020A-1 All f the lcks fitted t the vehicle are perated by the same key. Hwever, since it is pssible t lck the drs withut the use f the key, care shuld be exercised t ensure that the key des nt becme lcked inside the vehicle by mistake. NOTE: f yu make yur wn duplicate key, yu will nt be able t cancel the system r start the engine. AX10030A-1 The vehicle key number is recrded upn a metal tag attached t the keys when the vehicle is first delivered t yu. The key number shuld be recrded and kept in a safe place in case the need t rder further keys arises. New keys are available frm any Hyundai dealer by quting the relevant key number. n the interest f security, the metal tag attached t the keys which bears the key number shuld be remved frm the key ring after yu receive yur new vehicle. n additin, key numbers cannt be prvided by Hyundai fr security reasns. f yu need additinal keys r if yu shuld lse yur keys, yur authrized Hyundai dealer can make new keys. 1-3

12 B880D02A-GAT Limp hme prcedures 1-4 B880D01FC n case the immbilizer warning indicatr blinks fr five secnds when the ignitin key is turned t "ON" psitin, this indicates that the immbilizer system is ut f rder. And yu cannt start the engine withut the limp hme prcedures with ignitin key. The fllwing prcedure is hw t start the engine with the functin f the limp hme. (0, 1, 2, 3 as a sample passwrd). NOTE: Yu can get the limp hme passwrd when the vehicle is first delivered t yu. f yu d nt have the passwrd, cnsult yur authrized Hyundai dealer. 1. T set the passwrd yu may turn the ignitin key "ON" and then turn it "OFF" accrding t the digit numbers, then the immbilizer indicatr will blink alng with the FEATURES OF YOUR HYUNDA peratin f the ignitin key. Fr example, turn the ignitin key nce fr digit number "1", and twice fr "2", and s n. Hwever, fr the digit number "0", yu must turn the ignitin key fr 10 times. 2. Wait fr 3~10 secnds. 3. Yu may set the remaining number f digits by fllwing the same prcedures 1 and f all f fur digits have been tried successfully, turn the ignitin key "ON" and check that the immbilizer indicatr illuminates. Frm this time, yu have t start yur engine within 30 secnds. f yu start yur engine after 30 secnds, yur engine will nt start. NOTE: f the engine dies while driving after limp hme prcedure, yu can start yur engine within 8 secnds withut limp hme prcedure again. 5. f the immbilizer indicatr blinks fr five secnds, yu have t try the limp hme prcedure again frm the beginning. After ding the limp hme prcedure, yu have t cnsult with yur authrized Hyundai dealer as sn as pssible. CAUTON: f yu fail t try the limp hme prcedure with the sequence f three times, yu have t wait fr abut ne hur t d the limp hme prcedure again. f yu cannt start yur engine in spite f limp hme prcedure, have yur vehicle twed by an authrized Hyundai dealer. B040A02Y-AAT DOOR LOCKS WARNNG: Unlcked drs can be dangerus. Befre yu drive away (especially if there are children in the car), be sure that all the drs are securely clsed and lcked s that the drs cannt be inadvertently pened frm the inside. This helps ensure that the drs will nt be pened accidentally. Als, when cmbined with the prper use f seat belts, lcking the drs helps keep ccupants frm being ejected frm the car in case f an accident. Befre pening the dr, always lk fr and avid ncming traffic. n case f accident the dr is unlcked autmatically (f installed) B040B01A-AAT Lcking and Unlcking Frnt Drs With a Key LOCK UNLOCK HFC2004

13 The dr can be lcked r unlcked with a key. Lck the dr by turning the key tward the frnt f the vehicle and unlck it by turning the key tward the rear. B040C01FC-GAT Lcking Frm the Outside FEATURES OF YOUR HYUNDA T prtect against theft, always remve the ignitin key, clse all windws, and lck all drs and the tail gate when leaving yur vehicle unattended. B040D01FC-GAT Lcking Frm the nside LOCK B040E03A-AAT CHLD-PROTECTOR REAR DOOR LOCK UNLOCK HFC2009 The drs can be lcked withut a key. T lck the drs first push the inside lck switch t the "LOCK" psitin, s that the red mark n the switch is nt visible, then clse the dr. The dr will nt lck if the key is left in the ignitin switch when the frnt drs clse. This is nrmal. (f installed) NOTE: When lcking the dr this way, be careful nt t lck the dr with the ignitin key left in the vehicle. B040D01FC T lck the drs frm the inside, simply clse the dr and push the lck switch t the "LOCK" psitin. When this is dne, neither the utside nr the inside dr handle can be used. NOTE: When the dr is lcked, the red mark n the switch is nt visible and the character "LOCK" n the switch is visible. HFC2006 Yur Hyundai is equipped with a "child-prtectr" rear dr lck assembly. When the lck mechanism is engaged, the rear dr cannt be pened frm the inside. t's use is recmmended whenever there are small children in the rear seat. T engage the child-prtectr feature s that the dr cannt be pened frm the inside, mve the child-prtectr lever t the " " psitin and clse the dr. Mve the lever t the ppsite directin f the " " psitin when nrmal dr peratin is desired. f yu wish t be able t pen the dr frm the utside, the utside dr handle will functin nrmally. 1-5

14 B040G01FC-GAT Central Dr Lck (f nstalled) 1-6 B040G01FC The central dr lcking is perated by pushing the driver's dr lck switch tward the frnt r rear f the vehicle. f the passenger and rear drs are pen when the switch is pushed, the dr will remain lcked when clsed. NOTE: When pushing the switch tward the rear, all drs and tail gate will unlck. When pushing the switch tward the frnt, all drs and tail gate will lck. When the dr is unlcked, the red mark n the switch is visible and the character "LOCK" n the switch is nt visible. The central dr lcking is perated by turning the key (with theft-alarm system: driver's dr and passenger's dr, withut theft-alarm system: driver's dr nly) tward the frnt r rear f the vehicle. FEATURES OF YOUR HYUNDA B040H02L-GAT Speed Sensing Aut Dr Lcking (f nstalled) When the speed f the vehicle keeps abve 40KM/H fr 2-3 secnds, it will autmatically lck all drs fr driver and passenger's safety. But, the ignitin key is remved, it will autmatically unlck all drs. B070A01A-AAT THEFT-ALARM SYSTEM (f nstalled) This system is designed t prvide prtectin frm unauthrized entry int the car. This system is perated in three stages: the first is the "Armed" stage, the secnd is the "Alarm" stage, and the third is the "Disarmed" stage. f triggered, the system prvides an audible alarm with blinking f the turn signal lights. B070B01O-GAT Armed Stage LOCK UNLOCK HFC2003 Park the car and stp the engine. Arm the system as described belw. 1) Remve the ignitin key frm the ignitin switch. 2) Make sure that the engine hd and tail gate are lcked. 3) Lck the drs using the transmitter f the keyless entry system. After cmpletin f the steps abve, the turn signal lights will blink nce t indicate that the system is armed. NOTE: 1) f any dr, tail gate r engine hd remains pen, the system will nt be armed. 2) f this happens, rearm the system as described abve. CAUTON: D nt arm the system until all passengers have left the car. f the system is armed while a passenger(s) remains in the car, the alarm may be activated when the remaining passenger(s) leaves the car.

15 B070C01FC-GAT Alarm Stage The alarm will be activated if any f the fllwing ccurs while the car is parked and the system is armed. 1) A frnt r rear dr is pened withut using the transmitter. 2) The tail gate is pened withut using the transmitter. 3) The engine hd is pened. The alarming hrn will sund and the turn signal light will blink cntinuusly fr 27 secnds (E.C nly/ Except E.C 3 times). T turn ff the system, unlck the dr r tail gate with the transmitter. B070D02O-AAT Disarmed Stage FEATURES OF YOUR HYUNDA After cmpletin f the step abve, the turn signal lights will blink twice t indicate that the system is disarmed. NOTE: Once the system has been disarmed, it can nt be rearmed except by repeating the arming prcedures. CAUTON: Only the transmitter can disarm the armed stage. f the transmitter des nt disarm the system, it is necessary t take the fllwing steps; 1. Unlck the dr with the key, which will cause, the alarm t be activated. 2. nsert the key in the ignitin key cylinder and turn the ignitin key t "ON" psitin. 3. Wait fr 30 secnds. After cmpleting the steps abve, the system will be disarmed. Unlcking drs 1. Push the "UNLOCK" buttn n the transmitter. 2. At the same time all drs unlck, the turn signal light will blink twice t indicate that the system is disarmed. B070E02HP-GAT Replacing the battery When the transmitter's battery begins t get weak, it may take several pushes n the buttn t lck r unlck the drs, and the LED will nt light. Replace the battery as sn as pssible. Battery type : CR2032 Replacement instructins: 3A9BA21 The system will be disarmed when the driver's r passenger's dr is unlcked by depressing the "UNLOCK" buttn n the transmitter. B070F01A-GAT Keyless Entry System (f nstalled) Lcking drs 1. Clse all drs. 2. Push the "LOCK" buttn n the transmitter. 3. At the same time all drs lck, the turn signal lights will blink nce t indicate that the system is armed. Screwdriver MSO Separate the case with a blade screwdriver as shwn in the illustratin. 1-7

16 FEATURES OF YOUR HYUNDA Case T raise r lwer the windw, turn the windw regulatr handle clckwise r cunterclckwise. B050A01A-AAT WNDOW GLASS 1-8 Battery MSO Remve the ld battery frm the case and nte the plarity. Make sure the plarity f the new battery is the same(+side facing dwn), then insert it in the transmitter. B050A01FC WARNNG: When pening r clsing the windws, make sure yur passenger's arms, hands and bdy are safely ut f the way. B060A01E-AAT POWER WNDOWS (f nstalled) (1) Clse Open B060A01FC The pwer windws perate when the ignitin key is in the "ON" psitin. The main switches are lcated n the driver's armrest and cntrl the frnt and rear windws n bth sides f the vehicle. The windws may be pened by depressing the apprpriate windw switch and clsed by pulling up the switch. T pen the windw n the driver's side, press the switch(1) dwn. The windw mves as lng as the switch is perated. HFC2013 n rder t prevent peratin f the passenger frnt and rear windws, a windw lck switch is prvided n the armrest f the driver's dr. T disable the pwer windws, press the windw lck switch. T revert t nrmal peratin, press the windw lck switch a secnd time. Aut-Dwn Windw (Driver's Side) The Aut-Dwn windw is mved t its fully pen psitin by pushing the switch. T stp at the desired psitin push the switch again. WARNNG: 1) Be careful that smene's head, hands and bdy are nt trapped by a clsing windw. 2) Never try t perate the main switch n the driver's dr and the individual dr windw switch in ppsing directins at the same time. f this is dne, the windw will stp and cannt be pened r clsed.

17 3) D nt leave children alne in the car. Always remve the ignitin key fr their safety. B080A01FC-GAT ADJUSTABLE SEATS WARNNG: Never attempt t adjust the seat while the vehicle is mving. This culd result in lss f cntrl, r an accident which may cause death, serius injury, r prperty damage. B080B02FC-GAT FRONT SEATS Adjusting Seat Frward and Rearward FEATURES OF YOUR HYUNDA find the psitin yu want, release the lever and slide the seat frward r rearward n its track until it lcks int the desired psitin and cannt be mved further. WARNNG: T ensure the seat is lcked securely, attempt t mve the seat frward r rearward withut using the lck release lever. B080C01A-AAT Adjusting Seatback Angle WARNNG: T minimize risk f severe injury in the event f a cllisin r a sudden stp, bth the driver and passenger seatbacks shuld always be in an upright psitin while the vehicle is in mtin. The prtectin prvided by the seat belts and airbags in a frntal cllisin may be reduced significantly when the seatbacks are reclined. There is greater risk that the driver and passenger will slide under the seat belt which may result in serius injury if a crash ccurs when the seatbacks are reclined. The seat belt cannt prvide full prtectin t an ccupant if the seat back is reclined. B080D02A-AAT Adjustable Headrests HFC2024 T mve the seat tward the frnt r rear, pull the lck release lever upward. This will release the seat n its track s yu can mve it frward r rearward t the desired psitin. When yu HFC2025 T recline the seatback, lean frward t take yur weight ff it, then pull up n the recliner cntrl lever at the utside edge f the seat. Nw lean back until the desired seatback angle is achieved. T lck the seatback int psitin, release the recliner cntrl lever. Lck knb HFC2028 Headrests are designed t help reduce the risk f neck injuries. 1-9

18 T raise the headrest, pull it up. T lwer it, push it dwn while pressing the lck knb. WARNNG: Fr maximum effectiveness in case f an accident, the headrest shuld be adjusted s the tp f the headrest is at the same height as the tp f the ccupant's ears. The use f a cushin that hlds the bdy away frm the seatback is nt recmmended. D nt perate the vehicle with the headrests remved as severe injury t an ccupant may ccur in the event f an accident. Headrests may prvide prtectin against severe neck injuries when prperly adjusted. B080E01O-AAT Lumbar Supprt Cntrl (Driver's Seat Only) (f nstalled) FEATURES OF YOUR HYUNDA T adjust the lumbar supprt, turn the handle n the utbard r left side f the seat. T increase the amunt f lumbar supprt, pull the lever frward. T decrease it, push the lever tward the rear. B080F01S-AAT Seat Cushin Height Adjustment (Driver's Seat Only) (f nstalled) HFC2026 T raise r lwer the frnt part f the seat cushin, turn the frnt knb frward r rearward. T raise r lwer the rear part f the seat cushin, turn the rear knb frward r rearward.
