The Prismalume Enclosed fixture comes standard with safety features such as tool-less entry into the optics and it also meets the safety requirements for containing non-passive lamp failures. Our standard prismatic glass reflectors provide superior vertical and horizontal illumination on the work plane. 4 Ease of Maintenance The combination of the glass reflector and enclosed optics minimizes the dirt depreciation of the fixture. A simple wiping of the smooth inner surface of the glass reflector and the top and bottom surface of the tempered glass door will restore efficiency to near initial output. Stainless steel latches on the hinge door enclosure provide easy tool-less access to the lamp and a tight gasket seal. Ease of Installation The ballast assembly installs quickly with the pendant mounting plate which threads onto DN20NPT (.75 ) conduit and easily slides into the ballast key way. The optional quick disconnect box or thru-way wiring box can be ceiling mounted or threaded onto DN20NPT (.75 ) conduit. The integral hinge design allows for the simple attachment of the ballast assembly. Quick install pendant mounting plate threads onto DN20NPT (.75 ) conduit, and housing slides onto the keyed plate. Seven stage pre-treatment of the housing is followed by a sprayed on polyester powder paint, cured and baked on at 218 C. This exceeds ASTM standard practice for hardness, humidity, impact and salt spray resistance to prevent cross hatch creep, fading, cracking and other environmental related deterioration. UL listed - 55 C damp location as standard. Optional 65 C available. Vibration tested at 0.5g to withstand conditions in harsh environments. A variety of malleable iron hooks and loops to accommodate various mounting requirements. 11 Performance Specification Complete luminaire shall be Holophane catalog number. The luminaire shall consist of two sub-assemblies: ballast assembly containing the electrical components, mounting hardware and reflector attachment latches; and optical reflector. It shall have passed 0.5g accelerated fatigue vibration test, high ambient temperature test of and low ambient temperature test of -3C. The complete luminaire shall be listed by Underwriter Laboratories, Inc. as suitable for use in damp location ambients of up to 55 C as standard and be CUL listed. The die cast aluminum ballast housing shall be protected against corrosion by a seven stage pretreatment process followed by a sprayed on white polyester powder paint, cured and baked on at 218 C; which exceeds ASTM standards for hardness, humidity, impact and salt spray resistance to prevent cross hatch creep, fading, cracking, and other corrosion related deterioration. Mounting hooks and loops shall be self lubricating malleable cast iron and protected against corrosion with zinc plated chromate finish. All other hardware shall be zinc plated steel for corrosion protection. Optical Assembly Glass reflector shall be Endural prismatic borosilicate glass with a minimum wall thickness of 3 mm (.13 ) and be supported from a die cast socket housing with three 5 mm (.19 ) minimum diameter steel rods bolted to a bottom retaining ring made of 16 gauge zinc plated clear chromate steel. The tempered glass bottom closure shall hinge from this retaining frame. When bottom closure is latched at each support rod, it shall enclose the optical housing. Optional Mounting Methods (Choose One) P Pendant The separable DN20NPT (.75 ) threaded conduit mounting plate with integral set screw shall provide quick install luminaire slide on attachment. Housing shall be balanced and suitable for support from hooks, loops or conduit. A wireway cover shall enclose the wiring chamber which is suitable for 9C supply wire. N Non-Disconnect Pendant and Thruway Wiring Box The die cast aluminum pendant and/or thru-way integral wiring box shall contain provisions for both DN20NPT (.75 ) conduit and direct ceiling mounting. It shall contain an integral hinge which connects with the die cast aluminum hinge pin on the housing to support the luminaire while electrical connections are made. It shall have the same corrosion resistant finish as the housing. It shall have two cast in side knockouts, four ceiling mount drill points, DN20NPT (.75 ) conduit threaded top opening, and be UL listed for up to five #10 AWG conductors for thru-way wiring. The fixture housing shall swing up and connect to the N box by latching the captive J bolt and wing nut without use of tools. Q - Quick-Disconnect Pendant and Thruway Wiring Box The die cast aluminum pendant and/or thru-way quick disconnect wiring box shall contain provisions for both DN20NPT (.75 ) conduit and direct ceiling mounting. It shall contain an integral hinge which connects with the die cast aluminum hinge pin on the housing to allow the luminaire to hang free with electrical disconnect. It shall have the same corrosion resistant finish as the housing. It shall have two cast in side knockouts, four ceiling mount drill points, DN20NPT (.75 ) conduit threaded top opening, and be capable of carrying up to five #10 AWG conductors for thru-way wiring. The fixture housing shall swing up and connect to the Q box by latching the captive J bolt and wing nut without use of tools. A dead front female receptacle shall be mounted inside the Q box which will make an electrical connection with the pre-wired male plug on the fixture housing. The receptacle shall be UL and CUL listed for connection to lighting branch circuits which can then be energized before the housing is attached. The grounding connection shall be the first to make contact and the last to disconnect. It shall be CUL Listed and listed per UL-1059 (Panel Board Accessory) and UL-98 (Enclosed and Dead Front Switches) permitting the fixture to be disconnected while under load to meet OSHA requirements for relamping. EGH (Remote Ballast) Optical specification shall be identical to that of the Prismalume Enclosed; however, it shall mount to a cast wiring box. This box shall permit circuit leads to be attached to socket leads while in a hinged position. Optical assembly then latches to the closed position. Wiring box may be pendant mount, suspended with loop, hook and cord, or ceiling mount with DN20NPT (.75 ) threaded side entry. To be used with Holophane Remote Ballasts. 17 HALT Holophane Automatic Lamp Time-out (patent pending) H: Designed for metal halide fixtures operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, the HALT device will extinguish the individual luminaire s lamp for 15 minutes, once per week at random times, complying with lamp manufacturer s turn-off recommendations. HALT reduces the potential for non-passive end of life lamp failure while eliminating the inconvenience of switching on and off. 19 AERS Options AERS luminaire AERS Low voltage control wiring 12 Volt or 24 Volt Low Voltage DC Control Wiring (Class II) Control Module Line Voltage Feeds Sensor Locations The standard Holophane luminaire is designed with a modified ballast and relay. The modified ballast is designed to operate the lamp at two input wattages: HPS, normal input like a standard luminaire, and a reduced input, either 35% or 50% of full input; metal halide, normal input and a reduced input of 50%. The relay is wired to an occupancy sensor (or some type of contact closure) through a control module allowing the luminaire to switch between the two input wattages. The relay signals the ballast which input wattage to supply the lamp at any time. Low voltage control The AERS system can be installed separately from the main power distribution using low voltage DC control wiring. Each control module is designed to handle up to six zones. This system is ideal for adding to installations with existing power distribution. Line voltage control AERS is also available using line voltage control wiring. Line power and control wiring can run together through the same conduit. (Not available with Q, CDP or PHCB).
