4 INDOOR LIGHTING Chemical Plants Two criteria when designing lighting for an industrial area are safety and performance. The Prismalume Enclosed luminaire comes standard with safety features such as tool-less entry into the optical assembly and the fiberglass gasketed husk. This product meets the safety requirements for containing non-passive lamp failures. Our prismatic glass reflectors provide superior vertical and horizontal illumination on the work plane resulting in a uniformly lit area utilizing a smaller quantity of luminaires. Natatoriums Another nice feature of the Prismalume Enclosed luminaire is its ruggedness. It can withstand the environmental conditions specific to this application such as humidity. Steel rods connect the optics to the ballast housing and our polyester powder paint can stand up to harsh chemicals such as chlorine. No shadows, no glare, no worry - your athletes can concentrate on their performance, not ours. Paper Mills The combination of the glass reflector and enclosed optics minimizes the dirt depreciation of the luminaire. A simple wiping of the smooth inner surface of the glass reflector and the top and bottom surface of the tempered glass door will restore efficiency to initial output. Stainless steel latches on the hinged door enclosure provide easy tool-less access to the lamp and a tight gasket seal. Retail Consumers are seeking more aesthetically pleasing environments. Therefore, retailers must consider the manner in which they display their goods. Performance Specifications Complete luminaire shall be Holophane Prismalume Enclosed catalog number. The luminaire shall consist of two subassemblies: ballast assembly containing the electrical components, mounting hardware and reflector attachment latches; and optical reflector. It shall have passed 0.5g accelerated fatigue vibration test, high ambient temperature test of and low ambient temperature test of -30 C. The complete luminaire shall be listed by Underwriter Laboratories, Inc. as suitable for use in damp location ambients of up to 55 C as standard and be CUL listed. The cast aluminum ballast housing shall be protected by a phosphate pretreatment followed by a sprayed on and cured polyester powder paint. This finish is tested in accordance with ASTM standards for hardness, humidity, impact and salt spray resistance to prevent cross hatch creep, fading, cracking, and other corrosion related deterioration. Mounting hooks and loops shall be self lubricating malleable cast iron and protected against corrosion with zinc plated chromate finish. All other hardware shall be zinc plated steel for corrosion protection. Optical Assembly Glass reflector shall be Endural prismatic borosilicate glass with a minimum wall thickness of 3 mm (.13 ) and be supported from a die cast socket housing with three 5 mm (.19 ) minimum diameter steel rods bolted to a bottom retaining ring made of 16 gauge zinc plated clear chromate steel. The tempered glass bottom closure shall hinge from this retaining frame. When bottom closure is latched at each support rod, it shall enclose the optical housing. Luminaire to breathe through a non-deteriorating fiberglass gasket between the optical assembly and the ballast housing. Distributions 6611, Wide Optic 6612, Narrow Optic EGH (Remote Ballast) Optical specification shall be identical to that of the Prismalume Enclosed; however, it shall mount to a cast wiring box. This box shall permit circuit leads to be attached to socket leads while in a hinged position. Optical assembly then latches to the closed position. 13 HOLOPHANE Mounting Options PD - Pendant The separable DN20NPT (.75 ) threaded conduit mounting plate with integral set screw shall include a quick install slide on attachment. The housing shall be balanced and suitable for support from hooks or loops. A slide on wireway cover shall enclose the wiring chamber which is suitable for 90 or 105 C building wire. ND - Non-Disconnect Pendant and Throughway Wiring The die cast aluminum pendant and/or throughway integral wiring box shall contain provisions for both DN20NPT (.75 ) threaded mounting conduit and direct ceiling mounting. It shall contain an integral hinge connecting the die cast aluminum pin on the housing to support the luminaire while electrical connections are made. The mounting shall have the same corrosion resistant finish as the housing. The mounting shall consist of 2 cast knockouts, 4 ceiling mount drill points, DN20NPT (.75 ) conduit threaded top opening, and be UL/CUL listed and CUL certified for up to five #10 AWG conductors for through wiring. The housing shall swing up and connect to the ND box by latching the captive J bolt and wing nut without use of tools. Options and Accessories Auxiliary Lighting Emergency and standby options provide sufficient lighting during failure or interruptions of the normal power supply. 14 INDOOR LIGHTING QD - Quick-Disconnect Pendant and Throughway Wiring The die cast aluminum pendant and/or throughway quick disconnect wiring box shall contain provisions for both DN20NPT (.75 ) threaded conduit mounting and direct ceiling mounting. It shall contain an integral hinge connecting the die cast aluminum pin on the housing to allow the luminaire to hang free with electrical disconnect. The mounting shall have the same corrosion resistant finish as the housing.
