2 Keene MAKES LIGHT WORK Softbay is a durable performer in light-to-moderate industrial environments and an enduring star in the world of big-box commercial retail stores. Softbay makes light work with very high downlighting efficiency, while casting a pleasant upward glow of soft, comfortable light, ensuring employees, visitors and customers enjoy a welcoming and safe environment, whatever the application or activity. From the loading dock to work centres and assembly lines; from linens to outerwear to sporting goods, these spaces are ours to employ and enjoy, spaces taken to sparkling new levels by Softbay. Lighting Design Flexibility The Keene Softbay complements or enhances interior designs with colour accent finishes and efficient, soft, low brightness light. Softbay is available in four sizes to suit any application with a choice of lens options for continued versatility. Standard Strap Lock design with stamped in position markings allows for simple yet precise positioning of reflector to accommodate a variety of spacing criteria. 3 Softbay Series Decorative Options Enhance Architectural Designs Decorative bands are available to match colour schemes (standard finish is white) for architectural impact. Bands and all exposed metal components are finished in Duraplex II electrostatic powder coat. Also available for the 12" model are a white cord set and a brass chain and cord set. Prismatic Reflector Optics Keene s Softbay refractor is injection molded from U.V. stabilized, crystal clear, heat and impact resistant acrylic, guaranteed for 10 years against yellowing. A wide light distribution and an uplight component (up to 28%) combine to provide high horizontal and vertical illumination while maintaining low brightness. High vertical candlepower values help to achieve spacing ratios up to 2:1. Interface Reflector Model Injection molded microcellular foamed acrylic reflector achieves 89.5% overall luminaire efficiency. Downlight levels are increased and uplight at 17% or lower still eliminates cave effect. Highly reflective surface produces a soft glowing appearance and blends with light coloured ceilings. Cool Operating Ballast The Keene "Tilt 2" ballast housing is constructed of die-cast aluminum and provides maximum heat dissipation. Combined with deep cast-in fins, the Softbay is rated for operation in ambient temperatures as high as 55 C. This cool operating design allows for standard 90 C supply wiring. User friendliness is enhanced by a pre-wired hook and cabtire or threaded quarter-turn hub for mounting via 3/4" conduit pendant. Easy Maintenance The self-cleaning ventilated design for natural flow of air reduces contaminants collecting on the reflector wall and lamp. When cleaning is needed, a simple wiping will restore the acrylic refractor to full efficiency. Specialized Mounting For unusual applications requiring specialized mounting the Softbay is available with a Low Profile bracket, where the ballast assembly is mounted beside the optical assembly or a Wall Mount Arm, allowing the luminaire to be mounted to virtually any vertical surface. Wall Mount Arm not suitable for use with 25" SBXL model. Approvals CSA approved; Damp locations. Standard open model up to 400W suitable for 55 C ambient, Standard Open model up to 1000W suitable for 25 C ambient. Enclosed model up to 400W suitable for 25 C ambient.
