2 SL0M-M venetian blind Technical specifications The ScreenLine venetian blind SL0-M with built-in Brushless motor for application in insulating glass is manufactured in accordance with high technical specifications and production standards. The intelligent electronic equipment, the use of cutting-edge technologies and the gearmotor made of top materials enable perfect operation and longer lifespan. The Hall precision sensors fitted inside the Brushless motor send the most accurate position information to the electronic control board. This function coupled to the position control system ensures maximum synchronism regardless of blind size and weight. The rare-earth magnets and the high number of polar shoes of the Brushless motor generate a powerful braking effect (Cogging) upon motor shutdown. This feature is essential to keep track of the motor revolution number, to stop the blind with high precision and prevent the unpowered blind from moving downwards due to gravity. The innovative system developed for this model enables easy control in common two-wire mode (based on polarity inversion) and also very high-precision control in three-wire mode. The two modes are switched automatically according to the control selected. The bidirectional data line actuated by a third wire enables the user to set the control parameters and provides accurate information on blind position (position, angle of slats, etc.). This enables achieving a perfect sun tracking, optimal sun protection and utmost energy saving.

3 The control parameters that can be set up using the third wire allow the user to adjust blind operation or rewrite a new software release (bootloader function), without having to remove the insulating glass. The virtual end stops set to self-learning mode allow the blind to stop without forcing its components (cords and mechanical stop) uselessly. The two operating speeds (slow during adjustment and next to the end stops, higher during up/down movement) enable accurate adjustment of slats and slow movement towards the end stops. The corner key with co-moulded integrated contacts enables fast and airtight electrical connection between external power supply and internal board, thus maintaining the hermetic seal of the insulating glass. A special mechanical end stop housed inside the head rail ensures a safety stop of the blind at the lowest position. The design of the cord-winding system results in greater precision of the parallel function of the blind bottom rail. The interweaved structure of lift cords and ladder tapes keeps them in the same guided position, containing light passage through slat holes, thus improving slat parallelism. 0. technical features Motor group Power supply voltage: 4 V DC, maximum consumption: 0.45A. Warm edge spacer bars The Pellini-TGI Warm Edge spacer bar, obtained by co-extruding stainless steel and polypropylene, allows the improvement of the thermal performance of double glazing units incorporating ScreenLine blinds and can be used on all of the four sides of the DGU. The two side projections of the spacer bar provide it with the rigidity and stability that are necessary for the handling and working stages of the production process of the DGU. Such projections prevent light from passing through the edges of the blind on the four corners of the DGU and allow both manual and motorised ScreenLine blinds with -mm cavity to be housed inside the DGU. The internal part of the two projections contains a special slot designed to incorporate specific aluminium supports that secure the head rail to the blind. The stainless steel part to be found inside the projections ensures the long life span of the supports (and, consequently, of the blind). The external parts of the projections are slightly protruding to the outside compared to the base of the spacer bar so as to minimise possible leakage of butyl and are equipped with longitudinal lines designed to conceal possible bubbles or defects when in contact with glass. The stainless steel covering the spacer bar from outside ensures excellent diffusion tightness to gas and optimal adhesion to all the primary and secondary sealants used during the assembly of double glazing units. The spacer bar is covered by a patent. 4

The two side wires belong to the power line while the middle one is dedicated exclusively to data transmission. We recommend you connect and bring the three wires next to the control unit in order to facilitate future modifications/ updates of motor board software. Then, we recommend you push the connector into the special housing of the corner key to enable optimal current passage. Finally, pick up any excess cables between the window frame and the insulating glass before closing the glass bead. If the window frame is fitted with mobile contacts use magnetic contacts to prevent short-circuits (see also Chaprter 04. below). Blind operation This model must be connected to the special power supply that provides 4-Vdc constant voltage, the required current and the necessary protection to the motor. The electronic board fitted inside the head rail controls the various functions of the blind, including those related to its stopping (end stops) when extreme positions are reached. The specifically designed software provides two operating speeds to facilitate slat adjustment and to stop the motor slowly next to the end stops. Blind operation is provided by power source polarity inversion. Such inversion can be achieved and, therefore, blind can be moved using a couple of push-buttons fitted on the wall or via a rocker switch (also installed on the wall) or remote control. If the blind is operated via a rocker switch (such as Vimar s Idea series item 645), the latter is connected to the blinds that you intend to control simultaneously by means of two wires. Should you intend to use push-buttons available on the market, you must use the special control units supplied. The buttons should always be of NO type; all blinds (maximum 4) that you intend to control simultaneously can be connected to the control unit by means of two wires only. In case the remote control is utilised, you must use the control unit following the same procedure as for pushbuttons. To tilt the blind slats, keep the relevant button pressed until the slats reach the desired inclination angle. The initial slow operating speed enables accurate tilting adjustment. Should you use a rocker switch, the position is maintained steady; therefore, to carry out the adjustment you must quickly switch from one extreme position to the middle position of the switch. To raise or lower the blind, the push-button must be pressed throughout the tilting movement and released upon high speed activation. This operating mode increases the system lifespan because it reduces the number of undesired 5
