Prir t the first drive, carefully read the chapter "Safety Infrmatin as well, in rder t ensure yu a safe wrking with the machine. Yur wn safety, as well as the safety f thers, depends t a great extent n hw the vehicle is mved and perated. Befre using the equipment fr the first time, read this riginal manual thrughly, act accrding t the infrmatin cntained and keep it in a safe place fr future reference r subsequent wners. The manual prvides valuable infrmatin abut peratin, service and maintenance. The warning symbls as used in this manual identifies items relevant t safety. Please bserve the safety prvisins (see chapter "Safety Infrmatin ). Yur authrised Hak dealer will be pleased t answer further questins regarding the vehicle r the peratin and maintenance manual. Please be advised explicitly that we cannt accept any legal issues ut f the cntents f this manual. If repair wrk has t be perfrmed make sure that nly genuine spare parts are used; nly genuine spare parts may guarantee a dependable machine. We reserve the right fr technical imprvement. This machine is intended fr cmmercial use, fr example in htels, schls, hspitals, factries, shps, ffices and rental businesses. Using the machine beynd this scpe f applicatin will be deemed imprper use; The manufacturer cannt be held liable fr cnsequential damages; the user alne bears the risk. The term f prper use als includes peratin, maintenance and repair wrk t be perfrmed in cmpliance with the manufacturer's specificatins. The Scrubmaster B30 may nly be perated, serviced and repaired by persnnel wh are familiar with the wrk invlved and are aware f the risks. The applicable accident preventin laws must be bserved and any generally accepted health and safety directives must be maintained. Based n the cnceptin, design and cnstructin f the mdel intrduced nt the market by us, the machine cmplies with the applicable basic safety and health requirements stipulated in 2

3 Intrductin the EC directives (refer t the Declaratin f Cnfrmity). The EC Declaratin f Cnfrmity is n lnger cnsidered valid in the event f mdificatins t the machine nt authrized by us. The manufacturer is nt deemed liable fr any damage resulting frm unauthrized mdificatins t the machine. Ntes n warranty The terms f the sales cntract apply. Damages are nt subject t warranty if they are due t nn-cmpliance with the maintenance and service prvisins. The maintenance wrk has t be perfrmed by an authrized Hak service center and cnfirmed in the "Maintenance certificate" which is the warranty dcument. The fllwing is excluded frm warranty: fuses, natural wear, damages caused by verlad, inexpert handling and unauthrized mdificatin f the machine. Mrever, any claim fr warranty cannt be accepted if damages f the machine are caused by fitting parts r accessries withut Hak's prir and explicit cnsent r by nn-cmpliance with the maintenance instructins. Acceptance f the machine Upn arrival, check machine fr pssible damages in transit. Fllw unpacking instructins n shipping pallet. Each unit has been tested and thrughly inspected befre shipment. Any damage is the respnsibility f the delivery carrier wh shuld be ntified immediately. Dispsing f the machine Render the machine inperable. It must nt represent a surce f risks t children. Dispse f the machine in accrdance with the applicable lcal regulatins. Fr further infrmatin n dispsal and recycling, cntact the authrized Hak dealer where yu purchased the machine. Used batteries with the recycling symbl cntain reusable cmmdities. The heavy metals cntained simultaneusly represent a serius risk t health and t the envirnment. Never pen batteries r damage them. Never tuch, inhale r swallw any material inside batteries. Health hazard! Never allw batteries t pllute the envirnment. Risk f cntaminating the grund and water! In accrdance with the symbl with the crssed ut bin, these batteries must nt be dispsed f in dmestic waste. 6 Safety infrmatin General Prvisins Apart frm the prvisins cntained in this instructin manual, the general safety prvisins and the accident preventin regulatins as impsed by law have t be cmplied with. Befre taking yur machine int peratin, carefully read the instructin manual as well as ther separate instructins fr accessries r attached implements and cmply with all pints mentined there during wrk. Persns being trained by qualified Hak technicians nly are authrised t perate, service and repair the machine. This vehicle is nt intended t be used by persns (including children) with limited physical r mental capabilities r persns withut sufficient experience and ability. Yu are advised t thrughly study the safety instructins since precise knwledge nly helps aviding errrs during peratin f the machine and thus guarantee faultless usage f the machine. The perating instructins have t be at hand at the place f use f the machine, and therefre have t be kept readily available at the machine. When selling r letting the machine fr rent, hand ut these dcuments t the new wner/peratr and have the transfer certified! The warning and instructin plates attached t the machine cntain valuable advice abut safe peratin. Immediately replace incmplete r illegible labels. As far as safety standards are cncerned, spare have t equal genuine spare parts!

7 Safety infrmatin 1.3 Operating infrmatin Befre starting the machine up fr the first time, the battery t be used must be fully charged, prperly, by implementing the initial battery charge rutine. Please pay attentin t the perating manual prvided with the charging unit as well as the manual frm the battery manufacturer. Hak assumes n liability fr damage t the battery caused by a fault when the battery is charged fr the first time. Check the peratinal safety f the machine each time befre starting it up! Clear any faults immediately! Befre starting wrk, the peratr must be fully familiar with all adjustment, perating and cntrl elements as well as their respective functin! It is t late t d this when the machine is actually in peratin! Always wear heavy duty, nn-slip ftwear when wrking with the machine. The machine may nly be driven n and the equipment used n thse surfaces which have been apprved by the cntractr r persn appinted by him. When using the machine, it is essential t pay attentin t third parties, especially children. Start driving immediately after switching n the brush head drive therwise imprints f the brush culd be prduced n the flr. Only use cleaning agents suitable fr the vendr (nn-faming) and bserve all the use, dispsal and warning infrmatin prvided by the cleaning agent manufacturer. Only pen empty recvery tanks. The machine is nt suitable fr clearing up hazardus, inflammable r explsive fluids, dust r substances. It is frbidden t use the machine in ptentially explsive atmspheres. T prevent unauthrized use f the machine, remve the key frm the main switch (Scrubmaster B30 CL) nly). When transprting the machine, the squeegee and brush head must be raised. The way f driving must be adapted t the lcal cnditins. The machine has been cnceived fr use n level surfaces with a maximum gradient f 2%. 7

8 Safety infrmatin Maintenance infrmatin Operating persnnel must cmplete the necessary daily and weekly maintenance wrk. All ther maintenance wrk must be cmpleted at yur nearest Hak service center. The maintenance wrk and maintenance intervals prescribed in the perating manual must be adhered t. Suitable tls must be used fr cleaning and maintenance wrk. The machine must be inspected by a recgnized technical expert in respect f peratinal safety, within the terms f the applicable accident preventin laws, at reasnable intervals (we recmmend at least nce a year) and fllwing mdificatin r repairs. Spare parts must cmply with the minimum technical requirements stipulated by the manufacturer! This is ensured by the use f riginal spare parts. Befre cleaning and servicing the machine r replacing parts, switch ff the mtrs and main switch (Scrubmaster B30 CL nly). T prevent unauthrized use f the machine, remve the key frm the main switch (Scrubmaster B30 CL nly). Always discnnect the battery terminal befre starting any wrk n the electrical installatin. When wrking in the area f the raised recvery tank, it must be hinged pen fully t prevent it being kncked shut r further pen and dwn unintentinally. It is nt permitted t clean the machine with a pressure washer r steam blaster. It is nt permitted t use aggressive and crrsive cleaning agents. Allw the machine t dry after being cleaned, e.g. ver the weekend. Only start the machine up when all the safety equipment has been installed and brught t its prtecting psitin.

9 Safety infrmatin 1.5 Particular risks Electrnics In the case f defects in the electrical installatin, switch the vehicle ff immediately and clear the fault. Wrk n the electrical equipment may nly be carried ut by electricians wh have received the necessary training and in accrdance with the electrical engineering regulatins. The vehicle's electrical equipment must be inspected/checked at regular intervals. Defects, such as lse cnnectins and cable damage, must be rectified immediately. Only use riginal fuses with the prescribed amperage. Batteries Observe the infrmatin in the perating manual prvided by the battery manufacturer. Befre charging the batteries, read and take heed f the safety infrmatin regarding the charging area/ charging statin. Batteries may nly be handled and changed by qualified service persnnel. The unit is set up fr running n maintenance-free and sealed batteries. Use maintenance-free batteries nly! Due t a change in the center f gravity, nly batteries apprved by Hak may be installed at the intended psitin. Never lay any metallic bjects r tls n batteries - risk f shrt circuit! Ensure sufficient ventilatin in the charging area when charging the batteries risk f explsin! Fr further safety infrmatin, refer t flyer Infrmatin n Driving Batteries. Infrmatin n the pwer plug Only take hld f the pwer plug and pwer cable when yur hands are dry. Never insert the pwer plug in the scket if the base is wet r damp. Never immerse the pwer cable r pwer plug in water r ther fluids clean them in running water. Risk f electric shck! Dry any pwer plugs and pwer cables which have becme damp with a dry clth befre cnnecting them in pwer sckets. Pay attentin that the pwer scket is dry. We recmmended the use f splashprf pwer sckets cmplying with DIN VDE Pay attentin that n water r fluids can get n t live machine parts. If water shuld penetrate t such parts, discnnect the pwer plug immediately and have the vehicle checked at an authrized Hak service center. The pwer cnnectin cable must be inspected fr signs f damage at regular intervals. If damage is detected, the cable must be replace prir t further use. 9

10 Safety infrmatin 1.6 Infrmatin fr Prtectin f Envirnment Fr safe use f substances inheriting a danger t health and envirnment specific knwledge is required. Observe the legal directives and lcal regulatins fr dispsal f detergents. Used batteries labelled as recyclable cntain reusable ecnmic gds. Accrding t the crssed dustbin label these batteries must nt be added t the nrmal waste. 10

13 First Operatin 2 First Operatin 2.1 Instructin Instructin is required befre first peratin. First instructin int handling f the machine must be held by a qualified persn sent by yur lcal Hak cntract dealer. Yur Hak dealer will be infrmed by the manufacturer upn delivery f the machine and will cntact yu t make a date fr instructin. 2.2 Initial charging prcedure Befre first peratin f the machine, fully charge the battery with an initial charging prcedure and cmply with the perating instructins f the charger as well as with thse f the battery manufacturer. Hak cannt be held liable fr damages resulting frm an insufficient initial charge. 2.3 Befre Putting int Operatin Cmplete the fllwing inspectins befre taking the machine int peratin: 1. Check the area arund the machine fr signs f leakage. Hses, lines and tanks must be free frm any leakage r damage. 2. Install brushes and squeegee, see maintenance chapter. 3. Install batteries and cnnect battery plug, see maintenance chapter. 4. Check battery charge and prceed t re-charging f batteries if required. Generally prceed t initial charging befre first peratin f the machine. 5. Empty recvery tank and clean it if required, see maintenance chapter. 6. Refill slutin tank and add cleaning agent accrding t the manufacturer's recmmendatins. Use nly cleaning agents suitable fr autmatic machines (lw-faming) and cmply with the instructins fr use, dispsal and with the warning infrmatin specified by the cleaning agent's manufacturer. 13

14 First Operatin 2.4 Switching the machine n Befre switching the machine n, please read the safety infrmatin in Chapter 1. Carry ut the fllwing preliminary wrk s that the machine is ready t perate: If necessary, discnnect the pwer plug f the charging device frm the scket and place it in the hlder. If the pwer plug is nt inserted prperly in the hlder (Fig. 3/1), the machine is nt ready t perate! Switch the machine n by actuating the switch (Fig. 4/1) frm psitin (0) t psitin (1). 15 First Operatin 2.5 Operatin Scrubmaster B30 1. Switch the machine n at the main switch. The suctin turbine is switched n. 2. Lwer the squeegee using the squeegee lever. 3. Lwer the brush head using the ft pedal. 4. Draw back the bar n the bail system. The brush head drive and slutin supply are switched n. 5. Set the slutin quantity with the hand valve. 6. Push the machine. The pwer flw f the brush head drive supprts the frward drive. Start driving immediately after switching n the brush head drive therwise imprints f the brush culd be prduced n the flr. Raise the brush head when driving ver threshlds. Scrubmaster B30 CL 1. Switch the machine n using the key switch. All the units are in Standby 2. Lwer the squeegee using the squeegee lever. The suctin turbine is switched n. 3. Lwer the brush head using the ft pedal. 4. Pull the dead-man's switch n the bail system. The brush head drive is switched n. 5. Set the slutin quantity using the buttn n the perating panel. 6. Set the driving directin and speed using the bail system. 7. T alter the cleaning intensity f the cleaning prcess, use the buttns n the perating panel t change the slutin quantity and switch the slutin supply n and ff. Start driving immediately after switching n the brush head drive therwise imprints f the brush culd be prduced n the flr. Raise the brush head when driving ver threshlds. 15

16 First Operatin Useful tips Befre beginning wet cleaning, sweep the flr. This nt nly imprves the cleaning effect but als reduces the machine's liability t wear. The flr shuld be treated twice in the case f particularly dirty flrs r t remve wax (thrugh cleaning). During the first cleaning prcess, the flr is scrubbed with a cleaning agent dsage apprpriate t the degree f siling, whereby the squeegee is raised. The cleaning agent is left t act n the flr fr apprx. 5 t 10 minutes accrding t the manufacturer's instructins, then scrub the flr again and, after that, treat it with the squeegee lwered. fam. Infrmatin n dsage is prvided n the cleaning agent cntainer. Use the manufacturer's infrmatin as an initial basis. Practical experience will ensure that yu quickly find ut which is the right Hak cleaning agent and the ptimum dsage t suit yur needs. Imprtant infrmatin: pay attentin t the crrect dsage f the cleaning agent. The crrect dsage helps t reduce csts and prtect the envirnment. The develpment f excessive fam impairs the machine's functin. It indicates there is t much cleaning agent r the wrng ne has been selected fr the cleaning prcess being cmpleted. Unused cmpnent parts f a cleaning agent which end up in the waste water lead t the develpment f 16

18 First Operatin 2.6 Stpping and switching ff the machine Scrubmaster B30 1. Stp the drive and release the safety switch: - The brush drive and slutin supply are switched ff 2. Raise the brush head. 3. Raise the squeegee. 4. Switch ff the machine with the main switch. Scrubmaster B30 CL 1. Release the safety switch: - The tractin drive, brush drive and slutin supply are switched ff. 2. Raise the brush head. 3. Raise the squeegee. - The suctin turbine cntinues t run apprx. 10 secnds. 4. Switch ff the machine with the key switch. 5. The machine must be prtected and secured against being started up accidentally and uncntrlled mvements. 2.7 After cmpleting wrk 1. Drive t an apprpriate maintenance area. 2. Stp the machine and switch it ff. 3. Empty the recvery tank and flush it. Observe the applicable laws and lcal regulatins when dispsing f cleaning agents. 4. Check the slutin filter. 5. Check the sealing strips and suctin hse. 6. Check the electrical equipment, functins and settings. 7. Clean the machine. 8. Charge the batteries. If the machine is t be shutdwn fr a lnger perid, the slutin tank must be emptied. It is nt permitted t clean the machine with a pressure washer r steam blaster. 18

19 First Operatin 2.8 Transprtatin and lashing pints When running the machine t the site f use, the squeegee and brush head must be raised. When the machine is t be transprted n anther vehicle r trailer, it must be secured against rlling away. Lash the machine dwn securely. T d this, it must be secured at the frnt (n bth sides) and rear at the hld pints (Fig. 5/1). 1 1 Fig.5 Scrubmaster B30 19

20 Operatin 3 Operatin 3.1 Methd f peratin General infrmatin The Scrubmaster B30 is a scrubber dryer fr the wet cleaning f hard flrs Brush head The brush in the brush head (Fig. 6/1) is driven by an electric mtr. The brush head is lwered by means f the brush pedal. The flr is cleaned by the rtary brush and cleaning agent. The brush can be remved fr maintenance purpses by pressing a buttn Slutin tank The slutin tank (Fig. 6/2) is filled thrugh a detachable filling neck. The Scrubmaster B30 slutin tank has a vlume f apprx. 30 liters. The fill level can be seen thrugh a transparent hse. The cleaning agent quantity can be regulated. 2 1 Fig.6 Scrubmaster B30 20

21 Operatin Squeegee The squeegee (Fig. 7/1), which is hked in and can mve, is lwered by means f a hand lever and adapts perfectly t the flr thrugh the sealing strips. The suctin turbine vacuums up the waste water frm the flr Recvery tank The waste water which is vacuumed up is fed frm the squeegee t the recvery tank (Fig. 7/2) via a suctin hse. A hand-held suctin hse is available as an ptin t clean and vacuum up slutin frm inaccessible areas Pwer flw / tractin drive The hand-guided Scrubmaster B30 is ptimally supprted by the pwer flw f the brush drive. The Scrubmaster B30 CL is prvided with a cntinuusly adjustable tractin drive. The driving speed, driving directin and dynamic deceleratin are cntrlled by the electrnic drive cntrl. 2 1 Fig.7 Scrubmaster B30 21

22 Operatin Batteries and charger The machine is equipped with maintenance-free batteries (Fig. 8/1), a fully autmatic battery charger (Fig. 8/2) and a ttal discharge signal transducer (TSG) t prtect it against ttal discharge. Pay attentin here t the safety infrmatin. 24 Operatin Indicatr field (Fig. 9/1) The indicatr field prvides a central functin mnitring facility and indicates all perating states. Operating hur cunter After switching n, the sftware versin, last service cde and current number f perating hurs appear briefly in the indicatr field. Then the charge status is indicated. Service indicatr The service indicatr lights up when an errr has ccurred in the system and the cleaning r driving prcess is interrupted. In additin t the service indicatr (wrench), a fur-digit service cde appears in the indicatr field. The dts in the service cde flash. Clear the fault r nte dwn the service cde and infrm yur authrized Hak dealer. Charge status indicatr After switching n, the indicatr field displays the charge status indicatr. The fur icns indicate the current battery charge status during peratin. 4 icns: charge level 100%-60% 3 icns: charge level 60%-40% 2 icns: charge level 40%-20% 1 icn: charge level less than 20% Battery icn flashes = three minutes until OFF. Charge the batteries, refer t sectin

25 Operatin Charge mde indicatr (Fig. 9/2) Fur green LEDs indicate the charge mde with reference t the current charging stage. If the battery is discharged, the tw bttm LEDs light up. While charging, the ther LEDs light up ne by ne. The number f LEDs lit up crrespnds t the fllwing charge status: 1 LED: Sft start, battery pre-charge cycle 2 LEDs Main charge cycle - battery is being charged 3 LEDs Trickle charge - charge level 80% 4 LEDs Charge cycle cmplete - charge level 100%. Charge retentin is enabled Flashing f the bttmmst LED is indicative f a fault. See charger manual. Hak chargers are designed t wrk cntinuusly, i.e., at the end f the charge cycle, the charger autmatically enables charge retentin t ensure that the battery is always perfectly charged. T get the mst frm yur battery and ptimize its service life, it is best t always fully charge the battery (fur LEDs n). Main switch (Fig. 9/3) The main switch is used t switch the electrical system n and ff. Bail system switch (Fig. 9/4) Letting g f the bail system switch during peratin stps the brush head drive and the slutin supply. The suctin turbine remains switched n. Pulling up the bail system switch enables the brush head drive's pwer flw effect t supprt the machine drive. Brush ejectin buttn (Fig. 9/5) Press the brush ejectin buttn t eject the brush fr maintenance purpses, see paragraph

T adjust the slutin quantity, press the buttn until the required level is indicated. Cnditins t set the slutin quantity: Main switch is switched n Brush head is lwered Pull up the bail system switch Brush ejectin buttn (Fig. 10/13) The brush can be remved fr maintenance purpses by pressing a buttn. Eject brush: Raise the brush head. Press the buttn fr apprx. 5 secnds when the brush head is raised. Brush ejectin is indicated in the indicatr field by fur icns which light up successively. Attach brush: Switch the machine n again using the main switch. Psitin the brush centered under the raised brush head. Lwer the brush head. When the brush head drive is switched n by means f the bail system switch, the brush is autmatically attached. Slutin supply n/ff buttn (Fig. 10/12) The buttn serves t switch the slutin supply n and ff. When the brush is switched n, the last slutin quantity set is autmatically reactivated but this setting can be altered, hwever, with the slutin dsage buttn. 42 Maintenance and Service Charging batteries Cmplete an initial battery charge cycle t prperly charge the batteries prir t running the machine fr the first time. Hak assumes n liability fr damage t the battery caused by a fault when the battery is charged fr the first time. Ensure sufficient ventilatin in the charging area when charging the batteries risk f explsin. Befre charging the battery, wait until at least ne charge status indicatr bar has extinguished after perating the machine. The battery is charged by the integrated n-bard charger (Fig. 12/3): 1. Turn the machine ff. 2. Remve the pwer plug (Fig. 12/4) frm its receptacle n the right-hand side. 3. Plug the cnnectr int a 230V mains utlet. Charging will start autmatically. The charge mde indicatr (Fig. 12/2) shws the prgress. Pay attentin t the infrmatin in the perating manuals supplied with the charger and the battery. Yu cannt turn n the machine while charging. The machine will nt be ready t perate until the pwer plug has been returned t its receptacle (Fig. 12/5) Charge status indicatr Check the indicatr field (Fig. 12/1) fr the current charge status f the batteries during peratin. The charge status indicatr is cnnected t a ttal discharge signal transducer (TSG) in the machine cntrl unit. Fur segments n the display are indicative f the batteries being fully charged. The segments extinguish ne by ne as mre pwer is drawn frm the batteries. At the discharge limit, the battery icn starts t flash and the TSG turns ff the cleaning functins t prevent ttal battery discharge (machines with a tractin drive can still be mved at reduced speed). 51 Maintenance and Service Adjusting the sealing strips Angle adjustment The angle adjustment is decisive in cntrlling whether the squeegee's sealing strips lie evenly n the flr. 1. Park the machine n a level surface and lwer the squeegee. 2. Lsen the cunternut n the adjusting blt (Fig. 16/3) and adjust the squeegee with the adjusting blt until the ends f the sealing strips just make cntact with the flr. Fig. A Turn the adjusting blt clckwise: Distance between sealing strip and flr is decreased in the middle. Fig. B Turn the adjusting blt cunterclckwise: Distance between sealing strip and flr is increased in the middle. 3. Switch the machine n and check the suctin pattern.
