February was filled with great rides. We rode to the Pirate Festival, it was cold and a bit wet but two souls made their way to this event, we will try to schedule it again next year. The event was small but interesting! The History Hunt was also well attended and a great ride with lots to be learned with regards to our local history. Thank you again Road Captain Don Stadtler for the time and energy spent putting this ride together for us. Future rides to consider: Our annual ride to Rolling Thunder in May, the leaders are putting together a possible trip to York after Rolling Thunder to visit the Harley Davidson Plant. Key West will be in November again this year, this is a 4 day 3 night event. Gene Colvin is working on a September trip to the York Plant, this would be a 5 day trip. If you are interested in any of the above rides please sign up at the next chapter meeting! Signing up only shows interest, it is not a commitment! If you have any ride ideas please contact me! This is your Chapter so your ideas matter! And it is always fun to find a new ride adventure!! Do you wonder where you can get ride information, there are several places the events page on our website, our monthly newsletter, our ride eblast and always remember to call the HOG Line before the ride to ensure there have not been changes or cancellation. March holds lots of riding for us, of course, many will be participating in Bike Week in Daytona, don t forget, Space Coast Harley Davidson will be hosting events and fun the entire time of Bike Week so stop by there for some fun too! We have our Ride around Lake Okeechobee, two Pin Stop Rides scheduled to Daytona. Several Day off Rides, a breakfast and lunch or two! AND don t forget, without Space Coast Harley Davidson we would not have a Chapter so please stop in and say Thank You to the staff there! 2 From the Desk of the Assistant Director To all members I would like to inform all that effective immediately H.O.G. members now enjoy complimentary admission to the Harley-Davidson Museum year-round. Extended till the end of 2016 all Military and First Responders can attend the Harley Riding Academy for free. In an article from December Chapter Officer News states" Ride". Over thirty years ago the Harley Davidson Owners Group was formed. It was formed as a RIDING GROUP. Not a charity group, not a social group, not a political or religious group. Jersey Jim here with a few words about "Lane Changes" when riding in a group on a multi lane highway. We'll assume here that the group is riding in a staggered formation with a two second interval between the motorcycles that are following each other, and a one second interval between the motorcycles to the left or right of each other. It's been suggested by The Motorcycle Safety Foundation ( MSF ) that lane changes should be kept to a minimum and performed in the following fashion : 1- The lead rider should signal his or her intention to change lanes with their blinker and or hand signal. 2- The riders behind the lead rider should pass the signal back to the sweep rider ( ideally the lead rider and sweep rider will be in communication via two way radio, but this is not always possible ). 3- DO NOT MOVE OVER TO THE NEXT LANE YET!!!!!!! 4- The sweep will move over to secure the lane that the group is maneuvering into. 5- When the lane is secure, and it's safe to change lanes, the lead rider will move over and the riders behind him can start to move over, BUT ONLY AFTER THE RIDER IN FRONT OF YOU DOES. Moving over before the motorcycle in front of you moves is very dangerous. The lane may not be totally secure yet, and you could find yourself in a battle with a car or truck for the same space...this is one battle that your not going to win.

7 Bikers are Funny Too A very, very difficult question for Abby to ponder: Dear Abby, I've never written to you before, but I really need your advice on what could be a crucial decision. I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs...phone rings, but if I answer, the caller hangs up. My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently, although when I ask their names she always says, "Just some friends from work, you don't know them." I sometimes stay awake to look out for her cab coming home, but she always comes walking up the drive as I hear the sound of a car leaving, around the corner, as if she has gotten out and walked the rest of the way. Why? Maybe she wasn't in a taxi at all? I once picked up her cell phone, just to see what time it was. This caused her to go completely berserk. She quickly snatched the phone out of my hand and cursed me hysterically, screaming that I should never touch her personal property, then accused me of trying to spy on her. Anyway, I have never broached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her. I decided I was going to park my Harley Davidson Lowrider next to the garage and then hide behind it so I could get a good view of the street around the corner when she came home. It was at that moment, crouching behind my motorcycle that I noticed a small amount of motor oil leaking through the gasket between the rear head and rocker arm cover. So...is this something I can easily repair myself or do you think I should take it back to the dealer? -Real Harley Owner
