This month should offer plenty of opportunities to have some fun on the Harley. I would like to thank everyone that attended last month s meeting; a lot of info and activity was pushed into a 1 ½ hour meeting. Hopefully you walked away with some ideas that will help you have a safe, fun time this riding season. I am trying to keep the meetings entertaining and educational. If you have an idea or comment, please feel free to contact me. At the May meeting, we will be having a grilled pork chop dinner held out in the MDA tent. Member s meal will be free and non-members will be $5.00 per person and soft drinks will be included with the meal. As I mentioned last month, we will be having an exhaust demonstration. We hope to assist members that may be in the decision process of purchasing an exhaust system. We will have a variety of bikes with different exhaust configurations for you to hear and judge for crowd favorite. Don t forget that the PAYS TO ATTEND is up to $ which would make a nice contribution towards new exhaust or chrome! Enough about meetings, this is a riding club. This month will offer a variety of rides and activities for us to enjoy. May 14th is our Annual Spring Fling which will feature a ride to Marshfield led by Rob Pokallus with a stop for everyone to roll the dice and have a soda, then back to the dealership for a brat fry and dice game for prizes. May 15th the dealership will host their first monthly ride of the year, MDA weekend will kick off May 20th with demo rides, motorcycle parade, and music by Road Trip Friday night, Saturday will feature an organized ride to Wittenberg and music by Vic Ferrari that night. Contact HDW or for more details. May 28th John Napierala will be leading a ride to the High Grounds Memorial. I hope these activities provide you with the opportunity to enjoy your Harley with friends and family. In closing, our goal as a Chapter should be simply ride and have fun. We all share at least one thing in common; we are Harley owners. For most of us, the main reason we purchased our Harley was to entertain ourselves, do some traveling, meet some people and enjoy our time away from our daily routine. When Harley-Davidson purchased the motorcycle company back from AMF they recognized this and Harley Owners Group (HOG) was born. Harley dealers were asked to sponsor a local Chapter and work together to provide the lifestyle we all enjoy today. I truly believe the more you get involved and participate in events, activities, and rides, the more a member gets out of the cchapter. Everyone has probably been out for a ride by now. Please continue to pay close attention to road conditions [sand, potholes, patching, etc], watch for road workers and give them room, and ALWAYS watch the cages as they are not used to seeing motorcycles for a few months. Check our HOG website for the calenaer as May will bring plenty of activities for all of us. Please have a full tank of gas and a smile [ I don't think this will be a problem]. A few notables from the H-D Museum: show your HOG membership card in the lobby to receive a limited edition 2016 Museum Pin along with your free admission, how cool is that? You will definitely want to enter the H-D Museum Dream Experience, the winner will receive a VIP tour for two of the Museum, lunch with Bill Davidson, three nights stay June 15-18, 2016 at the Iron Horse Hotel, air fare [not sure we'll need that] and more. Go to and click on the Museum link to enter. Just a quick note on the Wisconsin State Hog Rally this year in Milwaukee Sep 1-3. Registration is only $15.00 online at Brew City Experience Our Chapter still has a few rooms at the Downtown Hilton at a reasonable pricetalk to Bill McKeever or myself if interested. This will be a great time! Next year, HOG will could pssibly be going with a regional rally concept. It may not be as close but I'm sure it will be worth it. We had a few awesome riding days. I hope you got out and took advantage of them. I see a few people have already started working on those Passbooks and a few of us got our first Sunburns for the season. Well, we have approximately 3-weeks before MDA, and we are still looking for volunteers. I need a few more to help in the Demo Bikes area with Escorting, the Trike and Registration. We have a morning shift and an afternoon shift on Friday and Saturday. If you are interested, please give me a call or send me an . For the person helping with the Trike, it is not required that you currently ride a Trike. It is nothing that you cannot learn. We also have the Spring Fling, on May 14th, at the dealership. A perfect opportunity to get out and do some riding and a little socializing. Don't miss it, this ride has been getting more popular every year. It s a celebration of the first ride of the year! [2]

3 And don't forget about May 28 th. John Napierala is taking us on a ride to The High Ground. There will be more information on this in the near future. So, keep your eye on that website calendar. I will be adding more info concerning these rides as soon as I get it. For those of you that have not noticed. We have our new officer picture completed and hung in our HOG Room. Stop in and check it out! Next time you see Tiffany Schmitt (Portraits by Tiffany), give her a thank you. She charged us for materials and shipping but donated her time. Hope to see you all at the next meeting, bring your appetite for some Grilled Pork Chops! Remember, the meeting will be held outside, so dress accordingly. Let s Ride and Have Fun! Pat Ladies of Harley- Tami Knoblock Hello all! I am looking to see if there is any interest in a Ladies of Harley Pistol League out at Zingers and Flingers. It would begin Wednesday, June 8th and go till August 3rd. It will run 8 weeks. The Pistol League would start at 7:00 pm and end at 7:30 pm. Must be ages 21 and up. If you are interested, please contact me so that I can let the owners know and then I can get more information out to those who are up for some shooting fun. If you have not done so, please sign up to help out for the MDA ride on Friday May 20, and Saturday May 21st. There are many open spots to be filled, and with more help, the more fun the volunteering will be. With the warmer weather, please remember to be vigilant of other drivers who may or may not be aware that they are not the only people on the road. We have recently had some issues with people not receiving newsletters and notices as they did not opt-in. Please remember that you must be an active National HOG member to be a local member. Membership applications are available at the front desk at HD of Wausau and the $20.00 local dues can be sent to me or dropped off at the front desk at Harley-Davidson of Wausau. What great weather; open those windows. Start your month with a Fish Fride at The Relocation, 1801 County Road X, Kronenwetter hosted by Gary and Rhond. Give them a call if you can join us Cinco de Mayo Party is May 7 at the dealership. Come enjoy the day. I need some more help. Call if you'd like to volunteer for a few hours. Our own Spring Fling is May 14. Register at 9:00, ride leaves at 10:00. We'll go to Marshfield and back at the dealership 1:00 for a brat fry. Participate in the dice game and over $600 in prizes. Cost is $6. Come get geared up for MDA. MDA weekend starts on Thursday with our meeting outside under the tent. Enjoy a great pork chop dinner free to members, $5 for guests. Please bring a dish to pass. Club is providing meat, potatoes, beans, pop, and water. Our potlucks are world famous (in our world anyway) so feel free to express yourself. The MDA Weekend is filled with rides, parade, music, raffles, prizes, fun run, lunch sponsored by Ski's. The cost is $30 which includes all of the above. Register at Our Chapter works behind the scenes and at the event. Please join us in whatever section you'd like. Call me to volunteer. It's a great time and a great way to give to a very worthy cause. John is doing his annual ride to High Ground for Memorial Day Weekend on May 28. It is always a moving experience. If you have not been there, now is the time to mark your calendar so you can attend. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered. Please check to HOG room. We have posted the auction money earned to date. Every time you volunteer for a Chapter or dealership activity, you can earn auction money. In order to qualify for auction money, you need to work a shift of 2 hours. A last note, I need prizes for the wheel. 5 Historian- John Napierala Hi Everyone, It was great having our April Chapter Meeting on Thursday evening. The April pizza meeting is the start to our riding season and 2016 is the 26 th Anniversary for our Chapter! I will be leading a ride to the Highground on Saturday, May 28 th as this is Memorial Day Weekend and is a nice way to honor our Veterans. We will make some new stops this year and the ride will be 225 total miles. Please let me know by May 21 st or at the May Chapter meeting if you plan on joining us for the ride. My phone number is The Highground Veterans Memorial is looking for bikers to escort the Persian Gulf Memorial Wall from Madison to Neillsville on Monday, July 18.
