Also, the hotel will give you a discount for the Water Park, your breakfast is also included in this price. If you would like to arrive the day before Conference or stay a day after, the hotel will still only charge you $81. WORKSHOPS AT CONFERENCE Thursday 11 June 2015 Volunteer Firefighter Service Credit Qualification Record 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA) will give a class on how to enter your department's end of year report to receive credits for your personnel and your department s retirement. Also, how to correct information on your past years of service. To receive a password to enter PERA s computers you need to go to their website at Click on forms and scroll down to the Volunteer Firefighter Contact Form, once you fill this out you must send it to Patricia Thaxton in order to get your password. You must have this done before you attend the class. Also, you will need one laptop for your Department if you are planning on attending this workshop. 3 PUTTING RANGE Extrication Safety for Electric Vehicles 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM This classroom session is an introduction to electric-powered vehicles and their systems as they relate to rescuer safety during extrication operations. The class will cover a brief history of electric vehicles and their development through the last 120 years or so. The different types of electric vehicles will be discussed along with their power systems. This information will be tied to responder safety during rescue operations. PUTTING RANGE Fire Hydrant Training 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM In this class Mr. Clay Hunter will give a presentation over Fire Hydrants operation, maintenance, and trouble shooting of a hydrant. This class will show how to maintain maintenance records; prevent maintenance, corrected fluids to lubricate fire hydrants, and correct tools to repair a fire hydrant. He will have maintenance forms, part manuals for fire hydrants, and a cutaway hydrant so that he can demonstrate what the inside of a Fire Hydrant looks like. He will also have damaged parts of the fire hydrant to show the reasons for the damage parts and also how you can prevent this from happening in the future. At the end of this course there will be time for questions and answers. FINE DINING
