2 PROGRAM WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE The purpose of this workshop is to give the roadside safety community one last opportunity to provide input into the process for updating procedures for the safety performance evaluation of highway features. Recommended changes in the procedures will be presented and breakout group participants will be requested to provide input on several topics important to the new guidelines. Notable professionals will also provide background and raise questions about other important roadside safety issues facing highway designers. Additional breakout sessions are planned as to allow workshop participants to discuss these issues in greater detail, identify problems, and formulate research problem statements.
