There a currently 163 marker locations requiring inspection. After completing necessary inspections the markers will be removed or replaced. The contract term is for one year. Upon mutual consent of the City and the successful bidder, there will be two one-year renewal options. Three bids were received and opened on March 5, 2009 following a public bid solicitation period. One vendor, PK Contracting, Inc. was responsive to alternate #3 (Raised Pavement Markers), and is recommended as being in the best interest of the City, as it is responsive (i.e., PK Contracting has complied with all requirements of the bidding instructions) and is the lowest price. Contracting, Inc. has satisfactorily completed several government projects in the past. Inspection and replacement of the markers is scheduled to begin in May 2009.
