20 New Action Items Framework & Roadmap 2.0 Coexistence between HSPLC(ISO/IEC ) and HPGP(ISO/IEC FDIS ) HSPLC, published in 2009 as ISO/IEC , is used in AMI in Korea. HPGP is considered as normative annex in ISO/IEC FDIS Because two technologies use power line as communication media and very similar (overlapping) bandwidth, the harmful interference shall be occur when used together in the near distance. Coexistence among B-PLC international Standards, Same rationale shall be applied to ISO/IEC , ITU-T G.9960/G.9961, IEEE std. 1901(2010)
21 New Action Items Framework & Roadmap 2.0 Inter-linkage between home network in MDU and energy network with SEP 2.0 Power meter in single house is provided and managed by KEPCO. But meters in MDU are installed by construction companies. KEPCO uses HSPLC technology and DLMS/COSEM protocol but construction companies apply Modbus or their proprietary technologies. To realize HEMS, two kinds of approach are implemented in Korea, HEMS based on existing home network system. HEMS based on SEP 2.0 protocol etc.
22 New Action Items Framework & Roadmap 2.0 Interface between Smart home appliances considering connection with Smart Grid. Business channel = interface Energy Supplier service User Problem : Different standards and interface protocols between supplier and users Operator Terminal Standardization (ex) IEC PC 118 SG UI DR operating system Smart grid-smart appliance interface standard Smart appliances
23 New Action Items Framework & Roadmap 2.0 Mapping between IEC ModBus(DER) IEC : communication network and system standard Originally for substation automation, but expand its application to the substation control center, NRE, distribution system, EV etc. Modbus : Communication protocol Field devices, PLC ( programmable logic controller ) NRE and distribution system controller.
24 New Action Items Framework & Roadmap 2.0 Harmonization between CIM and Open ADR 2.0. CIM Common information model for data standardization ( model) between systems. Leading group : TC 57 / WG 14, 16, 21 Open ADR Data model for information exchange between two end point, service provider and users. Leading group : Open ADR Alliance. IEC PC 118(Smart Grid User Interface) decided to adopt Open ADR 2.0 as PAS. Harmonization needed for DR service.
25 New Action Items Framework & Roadmap 2.0 Mapping HSPLC(ISO/IEC ) to DLMS/COSEM IEC TC 13 PT Electricity metering data exchange - The DLMS/COSEM SUITE - Part 8-6: DMT PLC profile for neighborhood networks High speed PLC ISO/IEC profile for neighborhood networks Adaptation layer Serial SSAS ( Service Specific Adaption Sub-layer ) IP SSAS ( Service Specific Adaption Sub-layer ) AMI system in Korea mainly on serial communication basis. Draw more specific action items from 50 PAIs.
