10 Status of AMR/AMI in Korea AMR/AMI Deployment Remote metering has been in service to Commercial and industrial consumers(high voltage) with deploying AMR(Automatic Meter Reading) since 2000 (160,000 consumers) Residential (low voltage) AMR project was started to pilot 1,000 households in Jeju island with ZigBee. KEPCO adopted high speed power line communication to deploy AMR from 2005 to spread 55,000 households in service currently.
