Helsinki Pilot 1. Background The massive roll out and usage of electrical cars in Finland is challenged by several factors that are mainly related to infrastructure for charging. The charging stations are located mainly within large cities; in shopping malls, new residential areas and private parking places. In order to ensure charging possibility, companies need to set up their own charging stations. This leads to inefficiency and scattering of the market. biotope project supports municipalities and state to build an ecosystem for charging of EVs by developing of new innovative technology that creates Systems of Systems (SoS) where information from cross-domain platforms, devices such as charging stations, electric vehicles, parking slots can be accessed when, and as needed using O-MI/O-DF standards. Biotope also offers a framework for Security, Privacy and Trust that facilitates the responsible access, use, and ownership of data, even when data is stored in vertical applications/silos. The first open call for Helsinki pilot brought to the project new partner Parting Energy OY, which provides charging poles and publish information about charging facility to O-MI node in O-DF and Mobivoc format. This will allow to build EV charging HUB for 8 poles that all drivers of electric vehicle drivers can use. In order to make next steps toward building an ecosystem we need to develop further the implemented use cases. We should create a tool for the end user for using charging services. The ecosystem should involve more players that are willing to publish data, such as large charging service providers. facilities location and availability should be visible and accessible through the Smart parking service that is being developed in scope of Smart use case for BMW EV drivers. Open Call 2 will address these topics above. 2. Challenges st challenge Drivers can find all available parking places in the region using biotope Smart mobile application or the car dashboard and data published in O-MI node. For electric vehicles, it is very important to know which parking places are equipped by charging poles. Data about parking places, their availability, and charging possibilities could come from several potential sources. One source is City open parking data, ongoing project with the aim to collect online information about parking situation in the City from a number of parking operators, including online parking payment services, such as Parkit. Another source could be big parking operators such as Q-Park, Euro Park that could provide information about their parking facilities. Data about available parking places should be available in O-DF MobiVoc (Biotope standards) format and publish in O-MI node.

nd challenge In order to access information about available parking places and charging equipment the driver of electric vehicle must have an application, where it should be possible to find the suitable premises in the area, check availability and equipment, book a spot (if applicable), authenticate a user upon arrival, open a lid (if applicable), start charging, and pay. Valuable features would be also to send a feedback on service quality, to build a route to the selected place, to monitor remotely a charging status. Such an application should be available for Android device as well as from the car dashboard (in case if such integration is possible for car manufacturers) d challenge The technologies developed in biotope base on O-MI/O-DF standards have been prototyped and demonstrated during first phase of the project. The EV demonstrator has been implemented by Aalto University to a functional state. The demonstrator consists of three components: 1) Client Android app for end users, 2) Server an Agent built on the O-MI Reference Implementation and 3) Charger an in-house fitted charging box. These components have been integrated via the O-MI/O-DF protocol. The prototype will be fully developed and released as a business solution in scope of biotope project by Energy. It includes the development and description of sustainable business model. In order to validate the developed technologies, methodologies, and business model it is important to scale the solution horizontally, e.g. to involve more charging service providers.

Helsinki Pilot and connected use cases Integrated IoT BnB Call for Proposals We invite proposals for building an ecosystem for connecting different actors and service providers for an IoTBnB solution for locating stations and charging electric vehicles. This work involves technical development work, as well as communication and marketing activities for raising awareness of this topical issue. The call has a unique identifier that should be mentioned in the proposal submission. Details of the call can be found below. The total amount of euros to be divided between several companies, including their subcontractors. The amount of money given to one bidder is not more that euros. HELSINKI OPEN There are three goals for Helsinki Open Call 2, based on the described above challenges: Integrating Helsinki charging case with Smart Mobility case by importing external live parking data to biotope data schema (O-DF, MobiVoc); Creating an android application (available from play store) for the Helsinki Pilot solution front-end functionalities;

Scaling horizontally charging services and infrastructure by bringing more charging service providers to biotope O-MI/O-DF powered ecosystem. Common objectives: To integrate parking and charging services under the same solution, user application; To provide a smooth and uninterrupted service for EV charging and parking, that is scalable and vendor independent; To ensure sustainability of the developed concepts and middleware technology in future business environment by acceptance of the concept from other independent vendors; Required activities: To develop a mechanism for importing and hosting of external live parking data from different available sources into biotope data model; To create Android application, downloadable from Play Store and in future portable to Android-based EV dashboards To extend current biotope charging infrastructure by integrating into biotope ecosystem new charging poles, facilities with relevant outlet types for the market and external (to biotope partners) charging service providers. Requirements for the 1 st objective (Integrating Helsinki charging case with Smart Mobility): o Adoption and integration for OMI/ODF and the vocabularies referred by project consortium for describing of provided services o live data must be imported, published and hosted in O-MI node according to biotope data model (O-DF/Mobivoc) o Data from all available in the area data sources to be combined, including open City data, private parking service companies, charging service companies o Each parking slot should have an information about charging possibilities Requirements for the 2 nd objective (an android application): o Adoption and integration for OMI/ODF and the vocabularies referred by project consortium for describing of provided services o Integration with modules, technologies and services provided by Biotope consortium by decentralized architecture and open API o User should be able to find the suitable premises in the area, check availability and equipment, book a spot (if applicable), authenticate a user upon arrival, open a lid (if applicable), start charging, and pay. o User should be able to send a feedback on service quality, to build a route to the selected place, to monitor remotely a charging status (optional). Requirements for the 3 st objective (Scaling horizontally): o Adoption and integration for OMI/ODF and the vocabularies referred by project consortium for describing of provided services o New charging services are published to the service catalogue defined by consortium (IoTBnB solution) o User should be able to activate the charging service independently of the subscription (driver should be able to pay and charge from the selected, powered by biotope pole independently whether he/she has or not a subscription with some of the charging service suppliers)

o There should be possible to establish communication between the charging pole and the car in order to exchange information (battery level, actual level of variable amperage, used equipment, battery capacity) over Internet (optional). Schedule: The pilot work should be performed during June March 2019 (10 months). Precise schedule is a part of evaluation criteria. Technical Details Use Case Brief Description of the Service Customers Customer Benefit Delivery Channel Required Partners Resources Expected Costs Needed competences Identified Bidders Potential Helsinki Pilot case EV and EV driver access IoTBnB catalogue to fetch information about available parking slots and charging equipment. EV and EV driver selects (reserves) the place and navigates toward it. EV and EV driver connects to the pole, starts charging and exchange information, such as battery level, car equipment usage level (e.g. AC and heating). These scenarios above are supported by several connected services vendor-independent authentication and payment services. Drivers, car manufacturers/car provider, other City service consumers and developers, such as parking. Drivers can easily find and use parking and charging service, car manufacturers can improve charging and navigation system by providing more reliable data for driver.
