Lee High School Auditorium. The following instructions, specifications, and conditions are hereby submitted for your review and proposal consideration. 2 RE LEE HIGH SCHOOL STAUNTON VA STAGE LIGHTING DIMMING AND CONTROL SPECIFICATION DIMMING SYSTEM AND CONTROL UPGRADE 1. OVERVIEW The intent of this project is to provide an update to the stage lighting system at John Lewis Auditorium in Robert E. Lee High School Staunton Virginia. The system shall consist of the installation of two (2) Johnson Systems QD 2000 control systems in the existing Electro-Control Quad dimmer racks utilizing the DMX512 control signal. New entrance stations, connection plates and cable will be installed in the lightbooth, auditorium and backstage. Circuits shall be rerouted from the catwalk to feed cove lighting positions. New plug strips will be installed on the second and third electric battens. The electrical power connections between the five powered clew winches and the junction box on the stage right wall shall be made by the stage lighting contractor and are part of this contract. Electrical installation as described within this document will be provided by the stage lighting contractor. Drawings, documents, warranties, and all miscellaneous items and services described within this specification and related drawings are included in the project. 2. DIMMER RACK AND CONTROL The Electro Control Quad racks would be updated with the Johnson systems QD-2000 upgrade dimming control system -- 2 units as there are a total of 140 dimmers including houselights. The empty space at the bottom of the rack will need one of the spare dimmers and terminal blocks installed to provide dimmers # The entire system would operate on the DMX signal, both the stage lights, and the houselights. Also need are two of the #CS2809 control stations (one in booth and one backstage) and one of the #CS 2803 control station (rear of auditorium). There are a significant number of extra quad dimmer modules at the school as well as replacement terminal blocks for the dimmers. The two walk thru stations would be abandoned as well as the entry station at the rear of the auditorium house left. There shall be three replacement entrance stations, one in the lightbooth with a #CS2809 control, one backstage with a #CS 2809 control, and one at the rear of the auditorium house right with a #CS-2803 control (The details of the back box for this unit is on pages #13 and #14, would require a plate to replace the existing analog sliders with a hole for the CS-2803 The stations backstage and in the booth would need surface mounted boxes.) The system connection plates on page #11 would be replaced with #RP-4X4 with the appropriate DMX connectors and the wire entrance for the #CS-2809 in the lightbooth and backstage. New DMX cable would be necessary as there is only a two conductor twisted pair cable running from these locations to the rack as well as 12/#18 THHN conductors for the analog houselight control. S Johnson Controls has recommended running two DMX lines (DMX A and B) plus a third line for the CS-2809 controllers from the booth to the rack and from backstage to the rack. (The cable run from the booth to the rack is +/- 150' in conduit, the run from the backstage connection plate to the rack is +/- 50'). The CS 2803 at the rear of the auditorium would require only one cable run, and perhaps the present two conductor shielded cable would suffice (It is a +/- 150' run.) The installation of all the required control cable is part of this contract. The present DMX control console, LIGHTRONICS TL2448 will remain in service. 3. ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL ITEMS A. FOH -- CATWALK AND COVES On the FOH catwalk, provide two replacement boxes such as SSRC GB-6 to replace the Electro Control # plug boxes (sized 9-1/4" high X 11-1/2" wide X 3-1/2" deep) with pigtails at the

Run EMT conduit with 8/#12 THHN conductors plus ground from the coves to the replacement boxes on the catwalk (+/- 35'). B. ON STAGE #1 ELECTRIC BATTEN No electrical changes all changes will be made under this contract #2 ELECTRIC BATTEN The strip light will be removed under the rigging contract. Provide and install a 52 foot long plug strip such as an SSRC BAL /21-L520PT with 18 circuits, 21 outlets with 20amp female twistlock outlets on 18" pigtail with 11 (eleven) of the Model # IL2-28/2 mounting brackets (28 in. long for double 1-1/2" pipe and BAL connector strip), 2/ #3516 box type strain reliefs and 2/ # CCP cable clamps. #3 ELECTRIC BATTEN The strip light will be removed under the rigging contract. Provide and install a 52 foot long plug strip such as an SSRC BAL /21-L520PT with 18 circuits, 21 outlets with 20amp female twistlock outlets on 18" pigtail with 11 (eleven) of the Model # IL2-28/2 mounting brackets (28 in. long for double 1-1/2" pipe and BAL connector strip), 2/ #3516 box type strain reliefs and 2/ # CCP cable clamps. #4 ELECTRIC BATTEN No electrical changes all changes will be made under this contract FLOOR POCKETS There are a total of ten (10) floor pockets on stage. Four (4) are located on each side of the stage and two (2) are located upstage. All of the floor pockets inserts can remain, with each of the two female twistlock receptacles fed from a separate 20 amp. circuit. Each of the upstage floor pockets are fed by individual ¾ conduits from the dimmer rack backstage. They each have 6 #12 conductors which is sufficient for this project. The four floor pockets stage left are fed from a single ¾ conduit containing 8 #12 conductors. New conductors shall be supplied such that a total of seventeen (17) #12 conductors (8 hot, 8 neutral and 1 ground) will run to the first floor pocket in the series. The other three pockets shall have five (5) #12 conductors each (2 hot, 2 neutral and 1 ground). The four floor pockets stage right are fed from a single ¾ conduit containing 8 #12 conductors. New conductors shall be supplied such that a total of seventeen (17) #12 conductors (8 hot, 8 neutral and 1 ground) will run to the first floor pocket in the series. The other three pockets shall have five (5) #12 conductors each (2 hot, 2 neutral and 1 ground).

Each conduit terminates at an Electro Controls # plug box (9X11X3) with four pigtails. The boxes at the extreme Stage Left and Stage Right ends of the Catwalk shall be removed and replaced with boxes such as SSRC GB-6L. Boxes #1 and 8 shall have conduit added to feed the original boxes at the Stage Left and Right Cove position. The plug boxes shall be renumbered with the new circuit/ dimmer numbers at least as large as the original numbers) as noted in the chart below.
