Corrosion Protection Generl Informtion Whenever two or more dissimilr metls (such s those found on this power pckge) re sumerged in conductive solution such s sltwter, polluted wter, or wter with high minerl content, chemicl rection tkes plce cusing electricl current to flow etween metls. The electricl current flow cuses the metl tht is most chemiclly ctive, or nodic, to erode. This erosion is known s glvnic corrosion nd, if it is not controlled, it will eventully cuse the need for replcement of power pckge components exposed to wter. To help control the effects of glvnic corrosion, Mercury power pckges come with severl scrificil nodes nd other corrosion protection devices.
