Maréchal DECONTCTOR TM system is Socket, Plug & Load reak Switch in one compact set. Maréchal DECONTCTOR TM Socket Outlets are with Dead Front i.e. live parts are not visible/cannot be touched. Maréchal DECONTCTOR TM systems are keyed so only same keyed Plugs will mate with same keyed DECONTCTOR TM Socket Outlets. Maréchal Contact Pin Tips are made from 85% pure Silver & 15% Nickel to give superior conductivity & resist arcing. 5 Selection Guide Selection Guide DSN, DS Decontactor TM The high safety connection Integral switching device DSN, DS Decontactor DECONTCTORS TM are industrial plugs & socket-outlets using silver/nickel butt contacts instead of brass pins & sleeves. Thanks to its integral switching device (C22/C23 according to standard EN /S ), the DECONTCTOR TM can safely connect & disconnect devices up to 250. Just pressing on the button will switch off the DECONTCTOR TM. Thus, the plug is de-energised before it is removed. s it prevents any risk of drawing an electric arc formation upon removing the plug, this system provides total safety to the user. In the event of a short circuit, the Maréchal DECONTCTOR TM guarantees safe handling: it is the only industrial plug & socket-outlet that has successfully passed short circuit closing tests (llen radley, High Current Lab, Wisconsin, U.S.). The safety shutter at the front of the socket-outlet (DS/DSN ranges) remains locked when the plug is pulled out. With this system, live parts are totally inaccessible by the user, even if the lid is not closed. In order to eliminate any electrocution hazard, the earth contact is always located in the centre of the Maréchal DECONTCTOR TM, thereby preventing any accidental connection with a phase contact. When the plug is inserted & withdrawn, the earth contact makes first & breaks last in order to provide continuous earthing, as required for safe handling. Just pressing with the finger on the button will switch off the DECONTCTOR TM. The plug then travels back automatically into a parked position. quarter of a turn (to the left for the DS & DSN) is enough to separate the plug from the socket outlet. This is done very safely since the device has been switched off. The plug & socket-outlet are then separated. Thanks to the safety shutter located in front of the socket-outlet (for the DS & DSN), live parts are inaccessible to touch & contact by wires exceeding 1mm in diameter (IP4X lid open).
