3 MICS-Asia Submitted Products Surface air species: SO 2, NO, NO 2, NOx, HNO 3, NH 3, BC, OC, SO 4 2-, NO 3-, NH 4+, SOA, PM 10, PM 2.5, OH, HO 2, HONO; Vertical air species: O 3, NO 2, CO; Column density species: SO 2, NO 2, O 3, AOD; Wet/Dry deposition: SO 4 2-, NO 3-, NH 4+, Ca 2+, Mg 2+, Na +, K +, Cl -. All submitted species are at monthly resolution. More species and profiles may be submitted upon discussion during the MICS-Asia conference on Feb. 29 Mar. 1, 2016.

14 Preliminary Results on Boundary Condition Impacts (Linkage between HTAP models and MICS-Asia)

15 Vertical O 3 profile averaged from 5 grids in the boundaries Larger discrepancy at high altitudes (Higher values from CHASER BC at the north boundary while from MACC BC at the south boundary)

19 Summary 1. MICS-Asia multi-model evaluations against observations are in progress and preliminary results on AOD are presented. 2. All models generally show consistent spatial pattern of AOD between each other and satellite observations. 3. Model performances vary significantly over different regions. Models diverge most during biomass burning seasons and dust regions. 4. Although O 3 pollution in Asia is supposed to be dominated by its domestic emissions, it is still found that boundary conditions could affect surface O 3 concentrations up to 5 ~ 10 ppbv (from MACC as a boundary condition).
