1 April 27, 2015 ADDENDUM #1 To the Plans and Specifications for: CENTRAL CAMPUS ELECTRICAL MODIFICATIONS PHASE II for MIAMI UNIVERSITY Oxford, Ohio To: All Plan Holders Prepared by: M Engineering 750 Brooksedge Blvd. Westerville, Ohio Phone: Fax: rcarr@mengineering.us.com This addendum supplements and amends the original plans and specifications and shall be taken into account in preparing proposals and shall become a part of the contract documents. You must indicate receipt for ALL addenda on your bid form. This addendum includes the following: 1. Written addendum - 3 pages General 1. The agenda, minutes, and sign-in sheet of the April 22, 2015 Pre-Bid Meeting are attached. 1

2 Drawings ES-01 E Revise SERVICES as follows: A. Electrical contractor shall provide temporary service from owner's designated location and provide lighting, power and wiring as required to facilitate applicable temporary needs, and furnish extension cords. Any temporary wiring, fuses, etc., shall be removed upon completion of the project. Provide ground fault protection as required by NEC and local codes on all temporary services. B. Contractor shall specifically include the cost for temporary 120/240V, 1 phase, 3 wire power to Laws Hall (via generator through temporary connection to existing secondary lighting panel) while removing existing substation and installing new lighting transformer. The load of the entire lighting panel must be accommodated by this generator (approximately 50 kva) plus any additional equipment starting loads. C. Contractor shall specifically include the cost for temporary 277/480V, 3 phase, 4 wire power to Laws Hall (via generator through temporary ATS connection) while removing, installing and relocating existing primary service switches, fuses, surge arresters, and modifying transformer taps. The load of the entire building must be accommodated by this generator (approximately 180 kva) plus any additional equipment starting loads. D. Additional temporary generators may be required for work at Kreger Hall, Roudebush Hall, or Warfield Hall. Contractor shall coordinate work schedules with Owner to minimize building outages and project cost. E. Any temporary generators utilized for this project shall be provided with a base that includes heavy-duty Visqueen polyethylene plastic sheeting and a sand barrier around the perimeter of the base to prevent any damage to surrounding walkways, vegetation, and other surfaces from diesel fuel or oil spills. Provide temporary orange hurricane-type fencing around each generator. Remove all traces of temporary protection at the end of the project. 1. Coded note 2. Change to read as follows: Remove three (3) existing 14.4 kv type SM-5 fuse links (Cat. #15RBA480E) and turn over to Owner. Existing fuse holder is type RBA400. Provide and install three (3) 30E fuse links, (Cat. #15RBA430E). Provide three (3) spare fuse links to Owner. 2

Change to read as follows: Provide and install three (3) distribution class surge arresters, 9 kv rated, 7.65 MCOV, to the line side of the high voltage primary switch or in the primary cable entrance compartment. 1. Coded note 2. Change to read as follows: Existing fuses are 14.4 kv type SM-5 80E (Cat.#132125R4) and no change is required. Provide three (3) spare fuses to Owner. 2. Coded note 3. Change to read as follows: Existing surge arresters are 9 kv rated, 7.65 MCOV. No change is required. E Coded note 2. Change to read as follows: Remove three (3) existing 5.5 kv, DIN-type 100E (with 2 dia. Barrels) fuses and spares (Square D- Bussmann Cat. #55GDMSJD100E) and turn over to Owner. Remove 2 dia. Fuse clip holders and replace with 3 fuse clip holders to accommodate the new fuses. 2. Coder note 3. Change to read as follows: Provide and install three (3) DIN-type fuses, 15 kv, 40E, Square D-Bussmann Cat. #173GEMSJD40E. Provide three (3) spare fuses to Owner. 3. Coded note 4. Change to read as follows: Existing surge arresters are 9 kv rated, 7.65 MCOV. No change is required. E Coded note 2. Change to read as follows: Remove three (3) existing 5.5 kv fuses and spares and turn over to Owner. Prepare fuse clip holder bracket by relocating the lower bracket down to provide 15 center to center dimension of clip holders to accommodate the new fuses. 2. Coder note 3. Change to read as follows: Provide and install three (3) DIN-type fuses, 15 kv, 20E, GE (Mersen) Cat. #9f62HDD020. Provide three (3) spare fuses to Owner. 3. Coded note 4. Terry Ponder provided a review of the bidding documents and general requirements for the project, including required information to be provided with the contractors bids, EDGE requirements, Bid Form, and bid submission location and time. 2. Dan Patterson gave an overview of the project requirements and reviewed the Project Checklist, including start and completion dates, restrictions on work hours and campus operational issues, coordination with Owner, changes to the parking permits and locations, laydown areas and work area protection and other safety concerns, and construction meeting requirements. 3. Ron Carr (M-Engineering) provided an overview of the scope of work for the CCEM II project, including a review of the drawings and specifications, equipment and materials being provided, submittals, and timing and coordination of work. 4. The issue of temporary generator power was discussed. In particular, Laws Hall will require temporary power on two separate occasions: 1) The replacement of the 120/240V lighting transformer, and 2) the removal of the primary high-voltage switch and changeover of the primary substation transformer. Each of these outages will require different temporary generators. The Addendum #1 will elaborate on the actual requirements for each of these outages. 5. When generators are used, they will need to provide for diesel fuel spillage and containment. 6. Alumni Week will be June 11-14, Special requirements on contractors will be in effect during thqat time period. Details will be included in the next addendum. 7.
