Prir t the first drive, carefully read the chapter "Safety Infrmatin as well, in rder t ensure yu a safe wrking with the machine. Yur wn safety, as well as the safety f thers, depends t a great extent n hw the vehicle is mved and perated. Therefre, carefully read and understand this peratin and maintenance manual prir t the first drive. The manual prvides valuable infrmatin abut peratin, service and maintenance. The warning symbls as used in this manual identifies items relevant t safety. Please bserve the safety prvisins (see chapter "Safety Infrmatin ). Yur authrised Hak dealer will be pleased t answer further questins regarding the vehicle r the peratin and maintenance manual. Please be advised explicitly that we cannt accept any legal issues ut f the cntents f this manual. If repair wrk has t be perfrmed make sure that nly genuine spare parts are used; nly genuine spare parts may guarantee a dependable machine. We reserve the right fr technical imprvement. Using the machine beynd this scpe f applicatin will be deemed imprper use; The manufacturer cannt be held liable fr cnsequential damages; the user alne bears the risk. The Sweeper is nt suitable fr cllecting txic, cmbustible r ther matters which are hazardus t health. The term f prper use als includes peratin, maintenance and repair wrk t be perfrmed in cmpliance with the manufacturer's specificatins. The Sweepmaster B1200 RH may nly be used by persns that are familiar with the machine and aware f pssible hazards invlved. The applicable Accident Preventin Regulatins and further regulatins in vigur cncerning aspects f safety and wrking medicine will have t be cmplied with. Based n the cnceptin, design and cnstructin f the mdel intrduced nt the market by us, the machine cmplies with the applicable basic safety and health requirements stipulated in the EC Directive (refer t Declaratin f Cnfrmity). This declaratin is n lnger cnsidered valid in the event f mdificatins t the machine nt authrized by us. The manufacturer is nt deemed liable fr any damage resulting frm unauthrized mdificatins t the machine. 2

3 Intrductin Ntes n warranty The terms f the sales cntract apply. Damages are nt subject t warranty if they are due t nn-cmpliance with the maintenance and service prvisins. The maintenance wrk has t be perfrmed by an authrized Hak service center and cnfirmed in the "Maintenance certificate" which is the warranty dcument. The fllwing is excluded frm warranty: fuses, natural wear, damages caused by verlad, inexpert handling and unauthrized mdificatin f the machine. Mrever, any claim fr warranty cannt be accepted if damages f the machine are caused by fitting parts r accessries withut Hak s prir and explicit cnsent r by nn-cmpliance with the maintenance instructins. Acceptance f the machine Upn arrival, check machine fr pssible damages in transit. Fllw unpacking instructins n shipping pallet. Each unit has been tested and thrughly inspected befre shipment. Any damage is the respnsibility f the delivery carrier wh shuld be ntified immediately. Dispsing f the machine Render the machine inperable. It must nt represent a surce f risks t children. Dispse f the machine in accrdance with the applicable lcal regulatins. Fr further infrmatin n dispsal and recycling, cntact the authrized Hak dealer where yu purchased the machine. Used batteries with the recycling symbl cntain reusable cmmdities. The heavy metals cntained simultaneusly represent a serius risk t health and t the envirnment. Never pen batteries r damage them. Never tuch, inhale r swallw any material inside batteries. Health hazard! Never allw batteries t pllute the envirnment. Risk f cntaminating the grund and water! In accrdance with the symbl with the crssed ut bin, these batteries must nt be dispsed f in dmestic waste. The return and recycling f ld batteries must be agreed n with yur authrized Hak dealer in accrdance with the Battery Law 6 and 8 (BattG). Regulatins fr Apprval Accrding t 18 f the German Mtr- Vehicle Cnstructin and Use Regulatins (StVZO), the Sweepmaster B1200 RH is an autmtive machine. The manufacturer supplies the expertise required fr type apprval. On the base f this expertise, the lcal apprval authrity submits the valid type apprval. Unnecessary is a registratin number. Accrding t 29 f the German Mtr Vehicle Cnstructin and Use Regulatins (StVZO) is a general inspectin unnecessary t, as the type definite maximum speed is minr 20km/h. Accrding t the German Mtr Vehicle Cnstructin and Use Regulatins (StVZO), the machine has t be equipped with first aid kit, warning triangle and the type apprval certificate when being used n public rads, paths and places. Any mdificatin carried ut at the Sweepmaster B1200 RH and having an influence n the type apprval specificatins and are nt indicated there will render the type apprval invalid. Befre receiving a new type apprval, the machine has t be presented t an authrized expert fr issue f new expertise. 3

4 Intrductin This expertise turns type apprval after being stamped by apprval authrity. Driving Licence Accrding t the Driving Licence Act, any persn wh is driving a vehicle running at a cnstructin-defined maximum speed f 6 km/h r mre n, public rads, paths and places has t hld a valid driving licence. A driving licence f the class L is required fr driving the Sweepmaster B1200 RH (autmtive machine up t a speed f 25km/h). 4

8 Safety infrmatin 1.2 General Prvisins Apart frm the prvisins cntained in this instructin manual, the general safety prvisins and the accident preventin regulatins as impsed by law have t be cmplied with. Befre taking yur machine int peratin, carefully read the instructin manual and cmply with all pints mentined there during wrk. Persns being trained by qualified Hak technicians nly are authrised t perate, service and repair the machine. This vehicle is nt intended t be used by persns (including children) with limited physical r mental capabilities r persns withut sufficient experience and ability. Yu are advised t thrughly study the safety instructins since precise knwledge nly helps aviding errrs during peratin f the machine and thus guarantee faultless usage f the machine. The perating instructins have t be at hand at the place f use f the machine, and therefre have t be kept readily available at the machine. When selling r letting the machine fr rent, hand ut these dcuments t the new wner/peratr and have the transfer certified! The warning and instructin plates attached t the machine cntain valuable advice abut safe peratin. Immediately replace incmplete r illegible labels. As far as safety standards are cncerned, spare have t equal genuine spare parts! Keep clear f hazard zne f the Sweepmaster B1200 RH. Only use a mbile phne when the machine standing still. Passenger transprt is nt admitted. 1.3 Prvisins fr Operatin Befre taking int peratin, check the machine fr peratinal safety! Immediately remedy malfunctins! It is indispensable fr the peratr t get acquainted with all attached implements and cntrls as well as with their functin befre peratin begins. Once yu have started t wrk, n time will be left t d s! When wrking with the machine use firm and skid prf shes. The machine may be used nly n such surfaces clearly specified by the wner r his authrised representative. When wrking with the machine take ntice f third persns, especially children. The machine is nt designed fr cllecting hazardus, inflammable r explsive dusts r substances. This machine must nt be used as dust-evacuating machine with dust filter insert (separatr) t cllect dusts which are hazardus t health. Usage f the machine in explsive areas is prhibited. Pull the key switch t avid unauthrized use f the machine. Befre cmmencing wrk, the peratr has t make sure that the machine and its accessries are in prper and safe cnditin. Machines with knwn defects must nt be used. Befre peratin f the machine, adjust driver's seat such that cmplete visibility f the riding track and the rear wrking area is given! Fr safety reasns, the driver's seat is equipped with a seat cntact 8

9 Safety infrmatin switch. Functin f this cntact switch must nt be bypassed! The seat cntact switch will cntrlled electrncally. Any manipulatin t result in autmatically blcking f the machine. Disengage all drive systems befre switch-n the machine. The machine may be started, run and stpped by a persn seated nly. Never let the machine run in indr areas! Intxicatin hazard! Prvide fr sufficient ventilatin when sweeping indrs (dust and cmbustin gas). Intxicatin hazard! Always adapt the driving speed t the ambient cnditins and the lading state. Cmpared t fur-wheeled vehicles, driving stability f three-wheeled vehicles is reduced, therefr: Abrupt steering maneuvres at higher speed r negtiating curves at high speed may cause tipping f the articulated vehicle. D nt turn at slpes but n level grund nly Ride up- and dwnhill straight. Avid taking sudden curves when riding up- r dwnhill r acrss t the slpe. In slpe there is tilting danger. The machine may be used nly fr peratin n areas with a maximum inclinatin f up t 16 %. D nt exceed the admissible ttal weight and the admissible axle lad limits. Check the dirt hpper filling level frequently. Befre lifting r lwering the dirt hpper make sure that n persns, animals r ther bstacle are in the area f peratin. Pinching and shearing hazard. Prvide fr required safe distance befre lifting r lwering the dirt hpper. It s nly allwed t lift up the dirt hpper in immediately nearness f the cntainer. Emtying the dirt hpper n level and slid grund. D nt sweeping when the dirt hpper is lifted. By emtying the dirt hpper pay attentin t bystanders. Prceed t filter shaking nly if the dirt hpper is in clsed psitin. Pay attentin t ht parts fr example cling water, tubes f the exhaust etc Maintenance instructins The daily and weekly maintenance and repair task must be perfrmed by a qualified peratr. Fr any maintenance and repair wrk beynd please cntact yur lcal Hak service centre. Observe the maintenance activities and intervals set ut in the instructin manual. Maintenance and repair wrk may be carried ut nly by means f apprpriate tls. Have the machine checked fr safe cnditin in the sense f the Accident Preventin Regulatin by an expert at regular intervals (recmmendatin: at least nce yearly) as well as after mdificatins r repair. Spare parts have t equal the technical requirements as specified by the manufacturer! Genuine spare parts guarantee cmpliance with these requirements. Use f ther than the sweeper rllers and side brms apprved by the 9

Stp machine befre prceeding t inspectin and maintenance wrk. Pull the key. Prceed t cleaning f the dirt hpper in regular intervals t preclude frmatin f bacterial depsits. The machine is splash-prf (IPX3). Cleaning the machine by means f high-pressure cleaning equipment r by vapur jet is prhibited. Turn ff the machine befre transprting them. After having jacked the Sweepmaster B1200 RH by means f a car lifter, additinally supprt the machine adequately. N persn is allwed t be in the jakked r lifted-up Sweepmaster B1200 RH. Befre changing wheels prtect the machine against rlling by placing wedges. Prceed t wheel changing when the machine is n level and slid grund. D nt remve, install r repair a tire n the rim. Cntact a tire wrkshp fr wrks at tires and rims. Such wrkshps have qualified persnnel as well as special safety tls at dispsal. D nt prceed t welding, bring, sewing r grinding at the vehicle's frame. Only Hak-wrkshps are authrized t replace damaged parts. Use genuine fuses nly.use f higher-level fuses may damage the electric system. Risk f fire. When wrking at the electric system discnnect the the battery plug. D nt keep batteries discharged fr a lnger perid, always recharge them as sn as pssible. Tp with distilled water nly. Never refill battery acid in battery cells f perfect cnditin. Keep batteries dry and clean and clear f siling such e.g. metallic dust t avid leakage current. Battery acid is highly caustic (keep clear f children). When checking the battery acid level, wear safety glasses. If acid splashes get int the eyes rinse with clear water fr 15 minutes and cntact a dctr immediately. Use apprpriate prtective means (e.g. prtective glves r fingerstalls) when handling battery acid. D nt use pen flames (explsin hazard). Pinching and shearing hazard by fitting, remval and change f the battery. All liquids escaping under high pressure (such as e.g. hydraulic liquid) may penetrate the skin and cause heavy injuries. Cntact a dctr immediately in rder t avid infectins. Take all precautins befre draining biling il - burning hazard. Inspect the braking system at regular intervals. Replace defective hses and lines immediately. 1.5 Specific Hazards Safety equipment D nt perate the Sweepmaster B1200 RH withut safety equipment being installed (all cver parts f the machine). Elektric system Only use genuine fuses with prescribed cnnecting lad. In case f malfunctin f the electric system, immediately shutdwn machine and remedy. Qualified persnnel nly is authrised t prceed t wrks at the electrical equipment and nly accrding t electr-technical rules. Inspect/check the electrical equipment f the machine at regular intervalls. Immediately remedy defects such e.g. lse cnnectins r scrched cables. Respect the perating instructins f the battery manufacturer. Never place metal bjects r tls n batteries - shrt-circuit hazard! Prvide fr sufficient ventilatin f areas where batteries are charged. Explsin hazard! Open seat hd by lading the batteries. 11

12 Safety infrmatin 1.6 Infrmatin fr Prtectin f Envirnment Fr safe use f substances inheriting a danger t health and envirnment specific knwledge is required. During maintenance and repair, all pe-rating media have t be cllected In adequate receptacles. Prvide fr dispsal in cmpliance with the legal prvisins accrding t the Waste Dispsal Act and the Used Oil Act. D nt let leaking il, lubricants r ther substance penetrate the sil. Danger f grund water siling. Wipe away spilled fluids and prvide fr dispsal accrding t the regulatins. Depending n the filtered substances, used filter inserts are cnsidered special waste in mst cases and have t be dispsed f accrdingly. Batteries cntain highly caustic sulphuric acid. Batteries have t be handled with utmst cautin. Old batteries are cnsidered special waste and have t be dispsed f accrdingly. Used batteries labelled as recyclable cntain reusable ecnmic gds. Accrding t the crssed dustbin label these batteries must nt be added t the nrmal waste. Prvide fr agreement with the Hak cntract dealer n return and dispsal accrding t 8 BattV. 12

17 First Operatin 2 First Operatin 2.1 Instructin Instructin is required befre first peratin. First instructin int handling f the machine must be held by a qualified persn sent by yur lcal Hak cntract dealer. Yur Hak dealer will be infrmed by the manufacturer upn delivery f the vehicle and will cntact yu t make a date fr instructin. 2.2 Initial charging prcedure Befre first peratin f the machine, fully charge the battery with an initial charging prcedure and cmply with the perating instructins f the charger as well as with thse f the battery manufacturer. Hak cannt be held liable fr damages resulting frm the fact that the initial charging has nt r insufficiently been dne. 2.3 Befre Taking int Operatin Prceed t the fllwing inspectins befre taking the machine int peratin: 1. Check parking site fr signs f leakage. Hses, lines and tanks must be free frm any leakage r damage. 2. Open seat hd. 3. Check charge f battery and charge if required. 4. Clse seat hd. 2.4 Start Machine Befre starting the machine yu are advised t read and cmply with the Prvisins f Operating frm Safety Infrmatin chapter! Befre starting the machine, subsequently ac-tuate the fllwing cntrl elements: 1. Set all perating levers and switches t neutral. 2. Secure the vehicle by engaging the parking brake. 3. Turn key switch and start machine. - After the machine has switched n, the charge cntrl display (TSG) is lighting up by full charging battery. D nt use the Sweepmaster B1200 RH at ambient temperatures f mre than 40 C. D nt switch n the machine at temperatures f 0 C r less. Its nt pssible t switch n the machine, when the acceleratr pedal is linked. 17

18 First Operatin 2.5 Operatin Prceed t the fllwing t set the machine int peratin: 1. Check the machine, see paragraph Befre Taking int Operatin. 2. Start vehicle, see paragraph 2.4. In initial psitin, vacuuming is activated. Use the perating draw if the cllected dirt is wet. 3. Lwer sweeper rller and side brm. 4. Release parking brake. 5. Slwly depress drive pedal until desired speed has been attained. 6. Check filling level f the dirt hpper and emty if required. 7. Operate shaking installatin regular fr cleanig the filter. 2.6 Machine stpping and parking 1. Release drive pedal which returns autmatically in neutral psitin and the machine slws dwn. 2. Actuate parking brake. 3. Lift sweeper rller and side brm. 4. Switch machine ff. Slwing dwn the Sweepmaster B1200 RH is pssible by applying ppsite frces with the drive pedal r by using the service brake. When leaving the machine unattended, pull key switch in rder t preclude unauthrized use. 2.7 After wrk 1. Ride machine t suitable site fr cleaning. 2. Stp machine, lift sweeper rller and side bm. 3. Start shaking prcedure. 4. Empty dirt hpper, see peratin chapter Clean machine. D nt clean the electrical parts by means f high-pressure cleaning equipment. 18

19 First Operatin 2.8 Transprt rides and Twing Transprt rides Befre transprting the Sweepmaster B1200 RH n ther vehicles, engage the parking brake and secure the machine by placing wedges at the wheels and by straps n the tie-dwn pints frnt (Fig. 3/1) and rear (bth sides) (Fig. 3/2). Fr safety reasn, by activated machine and by leaving the driving seat is resunding a warning signal. Twing Lift up the frnt wheel when twing the machine. 2 1 Fig.3 19

20 Operatin 3 Operatin 3.1 Wrking Prcedure General The Sweepmaster B1200 RH sweeper has been exlusively designed fr cllecting dry and mist matter frm flr surfaces in e.g. factries, strage buildings, parking grunds and pedestrian areas. Functinal Descriptin The side brm (Fig. 4/1) is used t cllect dirt at crners and brders and t enlarge the wrking width as well as t increase the area perfrmance n large surfaces. The sweeper rller (Fig. 4/2) casts the dirt verhead int the dirt hpper (Fig. 4/3). The cllected fine dust is evacuated by the suctin fan and separated by a filter system (Fig. 4/4). The air returned int the envirnment is clean. Dirt dispsal at the Sweepmaster B1200 RH is realized via lift-up dispsal (lift-up hight>1420mm) directly int standard waste cntainer. Fig

21 Operatin Sweeper Rller The sweeper rller (Fig. 4/2) is equipped with 12 rws f bristles arranged in v-shape. The sweeper rller width amunts t 800 mm and its diameter t 430 mm. The peratr lifts and lwers is by hand lever (Fig. 5/1) Side Brm The standard versin, the side brm (Fig. 5/2) is lcated at the frnt right f the machine.the peratr lifts and lwers is by hand lever (Fig. 5/3). The swinging area f the side brm arm is limited by stps. Fr special applicatin, fitting f a secnd side brm at the left side is pssible Steering Steerage is effectuated mechanically frm steering wheel t frnt wheel via chain. This chain is t be re-adjusted as required Fig.5 Any wrk at the steering has t be executed by authrized Hak-service-wrkshp nly. 21

22 Operatin Filter System Dust Evacuatin The filter system is lcated in the filter case (Fig. 6/1) abve the dirt hpper (Fig. 6/2). The suctin fan transprts the fine dust raised by the sweeper rller t the plate filter (Fig. 6/3) where it is separated. The fine dust sets at the utside f the filter blades. In case f heavy dusty sweeping dirt, check and clean the plate filter (Fig. 6/3) at regular intervals Shaking System Due t nrmal wrking vibratin the set dust frm the plate filter (Fig. 6/3) partly falls ff int the dirt hpper (Fig. 6/2). T ensure wrking in a dustfree ambiance, actuate the shaking system regulary, r after request by the cntrl lamp (Fig. 10/5) at the latest Fig.6 22

23 Operatin Brake The Sweepmaster B1200 RH is equipped with a service brake. This brake has been cnstructed as she brake and equally serves as parking brake. It is lcated in the rear wheels and is actuated via cables. Tw special adjustment screws (Fig. 7/2) are lcated in frnt f the chassis, behind the frnt cver (Fig. 7/1). Any wrk at the braking system has t be executed by authrized Hak-service-wrkshp nly Travel Drive Assembly The Sweepmaster B1200 RH are equipped with a electric drive assembly Hydraulic System The hydraulic system existing f hydraulic valves, hydraulic pump with hydraulic fluid tank (Fig. 7/3) and serves the peratin f the lifted-up dispsal and the suíde brm. 25 Operatin Actuatr fr flding aprn (Fig. 8/1) T pen and clse the flding aprn fr cllecting carse dirt during sweeping drive. Service brake / parking brake lck (Fig. 8/2) T lck the service brake / parking brake. Operate pedal and fix with lck. The service brake is wrking then as parking brake. The lck released by pushing service brake pedal (Fig. 8/3). Service brake / parking brake pedal (Fig. 8/3) Serves fr perating the sevice brake n the rear wheels. Simultaneusly actuate service and parking brake befre leaving the machine. Drive pedal, frward (Fig. 8/5) T change directin t frward ride with cntineus regulatin f riding speed at the same time. 56 Maintenance and Care Pull dipstick (Fig. 20/3) and check the hydraulic fluid level, refill if required Refill Hydraulic Fluid Unscrew cap with dipstick (Fig. 20/2) and check hydraulic fluid level, siehe Abschnitt Use apprpriate il-resistant recipient with muth r funnel fr refilling. Prceed t check f fluid level after refilling. The hydraulic fluid level must nt fall belw the minimum. It shuld read between the minimum and the maximum (Fig. 20/) Change Hydraulic Filter Change the hydraulic filter accrding t maintenance schedule. Fr change hydraulic filter prceed as fllws: Turn machine ff and pull key switch. Secure machine by engaging parking brake. Open seat hd, lsen and remve the wing screws f the left side cver. Turn hydraulic filter (Fig. 21/1) cunter-clckwise t lsen it and unscrew. Befre screwing new filter, fill it with il. Ride the machine a shrt distance. Refill sufficient hydraulicil.
