4 STRUCTURE INSPECTIONS The current inventory is as follows: 2950 drainage structures (including headwalls, catch basins and inlets) 11 miles or 58,080 linear feet of ditches/swales 173 detention ponds 55 miles or 290,400 linear feet of storm drain pipes The new GIS person will work with Staff to update the infrastructure this year, since the construction of new neighborhoods and other developments, this number will increase each year The City s MS4 Permit with EPD states that we must inspect 20% of all structures each year and completed 100% of the City every 5-years. Inspections completed for the reporting year are as follows: 578 drainage structures 4.86 miles of ditches 7.29 miles of storm drain pipes 41 detention ponds As a result of the inspections 48 structures/projects were escalated for repair or replacement

5 STREAM WALKS Four (4) stream walks were performed along the Chattahoochee River and tributaries. Below are photos of Sweetwater Creek, we are coordinating a stream clean-up for this fall/winter.

6 DETENTION POND INSPECTIONS 41 detention ponds were inspected during the reporting year. The following items are included in the reports; Structural Repairs (walls, earthen dams, etc.) Structural Component Check (trash racks, inlets, orifice, etc.) Bank Erosion/Stabilization Vegetation Management Trash, Debris and Litter Sediment Removal/Volume Verification

11 STREET SWEEPING In July of this year all streets within the City limits were swept, including State and County roads. We will street sweep twice year, once in the Fall (Nov) and once in the Spring (April) The main reasons for street sweeping are: Water Quality keep the storm runoff free of sediment, metals, petroleum, trash and vegetation. To prevent the clogging of storm drain catch basins To enhance the appearance of the community To promote safety and to comply with the implementation of NPDES regulations

14 ILLICIT DISCHARGE DETECTION & ELIMINATION The Stormwater Department is responsible for illicit discharge inspections, complaints and enforcement. We have worked with Gwinnett County, EPD and the State to eliminate the pollutant sources.

21 HIGHBROOKE TRAIL PROJECT - BEFORE The Highbrooke Trail Project included replacing a 24 corrugated metal pipe, replaced the headwall, adding rip-rap, and re-sodding all disturbed areas.
