9 Deliverable: User Survey Findings Hampton Roads Average time of arrival to P&R Lot 6:02am 64% of P&R lot users in HR use lots five days / week 99% of all lot users use the lots to commute to work Of users surveyed, they chose the following mode once parked at the lot 9
10 Deliverable: User Survey Findings Hampton Roads Average distance traveled to get to P&R lot is 9 miles Average time spent traveling to P&R lot is 14 minutes Average distance and time traveled from P&R lot to destination is 26 miles and 41 minutes. Average total commute is 35 miles and 55 minutes. 10
11 Deliverable: P&R Lot Recommendations Maintenance at seven lots, including paving; resurfacing; enhance with lighting, bike racks, installing drainage, replacing signage, etc. Expand lot and connect bike and pedestrian facilities Establish formal agreement for existing and proposed lots Expand park & ride services A preliminary list of detailed recommendations was vetted with TRAFFIX Oversight Subcommittee in November
12 VDOT Park & Ride Lot Investment Strategies Study Step 1: Recommendations VDOT completed a P&R Lot Inventory and Usage Study from Step 2: Priority Investment Areas (PIAs) VDOT staff compiled various data on each of the recommendations. A GIS Methodology was conducted with this data to identify Priority Investment Areas (PIAs): areas with a convergence of population density, high peak hourly traffic volumes and the proximity of the nearest existing P&R lot Major corridor that would be served by the potential P&R lot. The following data was used in this analysis: Census Population Density 2. Volume per hour along routes 3. Location of existing lots 12

April 1-30, 2014 : District staff requested feedback from TOS on Priority Investment Recommendations.
