17 Lashings conforming to BS EN What does that mean for you and your safety? Package Control has always produced lashings to meet the latest standards. This is an overview of the labelling requirements that enable us to conform to BS EN The most important aspect of the standard is that straps are regarded as safety products and therefore provide peace of mind when used correctly. The important change from the previous standard when calculating the number of lashings required, is that whilst the components (i.e. buckles and fittings) remain at a two to one safety factor, the webbing has increased to a three to one safety factor. In addition to this, the condition of the webbing should be checked before each use by the user for evidence of damage for example fraying and tearing. It is important that we all care for and adhere this standard. That way we can ensure quality products and safe use of them. We see it as our responsibility to conform to the standards, and we trust that you understand the importance of the guidelines that it communicates to users of our products. Together we can then ensure the optimum safety and quality when used correctly. Every load restraint strap assembly needs to have a label with the following information: -LC 2000 dan.
