2 The vertical blind system Benthin Vertical blinds are suitable for a wide range of applications and are characterised by their flexibility, durability and the efficient, versatile solar protection they provide. The louvres can be adjusted to follow the course of the sun and are an excellent way to control and direct the light. For private homes the focus is on the decorative aspect, as well as the solar protection. The vertical blind is an almost unique product that has its own distinct character and yet leaves a great deal of scope for architectural design. Verticals can be used to create a variety of very different lighting effects, as there are almost infinite possibilities for regulating the incoming light depending on the position of the louvres. Vertical blinds are particularly suitable for use in office buildings, as they can cover large and wide areas of glazing, and there are many louvre fabrics available that take into consideration Health, Safety and Environmental issues in compliance with the relevant European legislation. These include fabrics with solar reflective properties ideal for workplaces with VDUs. Louvre widths of 89 mm and 127 mm are standard, but alternative options of 63 mm and 250 mm are available. For large projects, if requested the rails can be supplied in special colours so they can be colour co-ordinated with existing architectural elements of the building. 4 3 A range of control options The standard dual control and the smooth monogear, both with complete 180º rotation, with bead chain operation and the motorised systems, all provide optimal operating comfort. The IQ motor Vertical blinds with electric operation are becoming more and more popular. Our motorised solution offers greater intelligence. In addition to the common function of traversing and tilting the louvres, the IQ motor can be set to control the tilting angle, and has an intermediate stop function to park the louvres at a predetermined position. hain/cord, simple and efficient A bead chain to tilt the louvres and a cord to draw them across the blind is the standard control supplied. The monogear for ease of operation The monogear enables the louvres to be traversed and tilted simply and safely by means of a continuous chain loop. Tilt wand/cord, a neat alternative option Tilt the louvres using a tilt wand, and draw them across with a cord pull. One wand that can do everything Tilt the louvres and draw them across the blind with one hand by simply using the traversing wand.

5 Safe and systematic technology The Benthin Vertical System, with its tried-and-tested traveller with integrated friction clutch, stainless steel spacers and detachable hooks, enables the blinds to be used for a wide range of applications. Narrow stacking width The system is characterized by the particularly narrow stacking width of the louvres when pulled back, which enables them to be neatly stacked right at the end of the rail. The optional flexible end retainer allows minimizing the stacking width even further. Easy window cleaning through functional components When the catch is released the louvre stack can be easily moved sideways out of the way in order to clean the window. Automated production as the key to success Benthin offers an extensive programme of production equipment enabling high quality vertical blinds to be produced in greater quantities. Move the louvre hooks to the starting position by operating the ball chain (optimum position at 90 to the track). 2. Fit the louvres in the louvre hooks and push upwards until they snap home in the position shown here.
