2 WELOME O ESERN Please read his bookle so ha you are familiar wih he parking faciliies as well as he rules and regulaions on campus. If you have any quesions concerning hese parking regulaions, shule bus service, suden parol service or oher services offered by he Universiy Police Deparmen, call (860) or sop in o see us. HOW O OBIN PRKING PERMI ll faculy and saff, commuer and residenial sudens are required o regiser heir vehicles wih he Easern onnecicu Sae Universiy Police Deparmen (Inersession and Summer Sessions included). Permis are valid for he enire academic year. Residenial sudens wih less han 24 oal credis are no allowed o have a vehicle on campus. You mus submi an applicaion form along wih a copy of your valid vehicle regisraion; and proof of enrollmen (valid suden I.D. or curren semeser schedule); or employmen (valid faculy/saff I.D. or curren leer of employmen) o he Universiy Police Deparmen. Once verified, you will be issued he appropriae parking permi. For a suden permi applicaion, go o: Permis mus be picked up in person. For fall semeser only, mailed-in applicaions will be acceped unil ug. 21. fer ha dae, compleed applicaions mus be brough o he Police Deparmen. ll permis mus be permanenly affixed o he inside, fron windshield, lower passenger side. Remove all previous Easern permis. ll permis are non-ransferable. If you have a replacemen vehicle and need a new permi, you are required o remove he permi you were originally issued and bring i wih you o he Universiy Police Deparmen. You will hen complee he same seps for a new permi as you did for he original permi. No one is allowed o have wo permis for differen areas of he campus for he same school year. EMPORRY PRKING PERMI If driving an alernae vehicle, you are required o obain a emporary parking permi prior o parking on Universiy propery. ll emporary parking permis may be obained 24/7 from he Universiy Police Deparmen. You are required o presen your valid vehicle regisraion and suden I.D., if applicable. emporary parking permis mus be OMPLEELY DISPLYED on he fron windshield, hanging from he rearview mirror. VISIORS Sudens, faculy and saff are responsible for informing heir guess or visiors of he parking permi requiremen as well as he rules and regulaions o park on Universiy propery. ll guess and visiors will be assigned designaed parking areas by he Police Deparmen upon receip of he emporary permi. hese visiors may also use meered parking in he Library lo wih or wihou a permi (coin deposi required). Overnigh parking regulaions will be enforced. WHERE O PRK Faculy/saff, commuers and residenial sudens mus park in heir designaed areas a all imes. ll designaed parking areas have signs. parking space is clearly marked by wo whie lines. Sudens are expeced o walk or ake a shule o oher areas on campus. here is no overnigh parking allowed (2 o 6 a.m.) in commuer and faculy/saff parking los, or in meered spaces. Weekend parking begins on Friday a 6:45 p.m. Residens may use commuer parking areas from noon unil 2 a.m. Overnigh parking regulaions (afer 2 a.m.) will sill be enforced in all commuer los, faculy/saff los and meered spaces. 4 HNDIPPED SPES Secion a of he onnecicu General Saues prohibis he use of designaed handicapped parking spaces unless he vehicle operaor or passenger has a valid sae handicapped permi displayed on a plae or placard. Handicapped permis are issued o he individual, no he vehicle. Unauhorized display or use is a violaion of secion a which is an infracion and will resul in a $150 infracion or a $100 parking icke. HOW O PY FINES Fines may be paid a he Bursar s Office (in he Wood Suppor Services ener). Fines mus be paid in full wihin 10 days of he dae issued or he original oal fine will double. Ousanding ickes will preven you from regisering for classes, obaining ranscrips or renewing your parking permi. ll ousanding parking violaions are referred o he Universiy Bursar s Office for collecion. ll billing will be sen o he vehicle owner, who will be noified before he unpaid fine is sen o a collecion agency. HE PPEL PROESS If you believe ha you have received a icke in error, you have he righ o appeal o he Universiy Parking ppeals ommiee. he icke mus be appealed, wihou paymen, wihin 10 business days afer he violaion is issued. ppeal forms are available a he Universiy Police Deparmen or on he Public Safey web page a No oher form will be acceped. ppeals will no be acceped afer he 10-day period. You will be noified in wriing regarding he disposiion of your appeal. If your appeal is denied, you will have 10 days from he dae of your leer o pay he original fine. fer 10 days from he dae of your leer, he fine will double. he decision of he ommiee is final. When he parking ban is lifed, sudens will have wo hours o reurn o heir assigned lo. If he ban is lifed prior o daybreak, sudens mus move back o residenial los a leas one hour prior o he sar of classes.
