3 CD s report. We had a good Super Bowl party which was a lot of fun, hosted by Jane and Bob. We had breakfast on Sundays for the month of February. The new 2014 Midnight Ride shirts are printed and ready for sale. We also got the Midnight Ride brochure updated. It will be posted on our web site. On March 17, we will have our 1st ride because it s going to be nice that day So, we will ride for ice cream or hot chocolate whichever comes 1st. We also may ride sooner. You never know. This is Michigan and in Michigan, it could be 80 on March 17. For those of you are laughing, I am predicting the weather Do not forget the anniversary party on March 22 at Brann s Restaurant on Division between 36th and 44th. For those out of town,. If coming from the North, take US131 to 36th St, turn left on 36th and go to Division Street turn right. If coming from the South, take US 131 to 44th St., turn right to go to Division, then turn left. Hopefully you won t get lost as I usually do. Check out the map link on page 5. Your CD, Ezra There are a lot of things to think about this month One is our Chapter Anniversary Party on March 22. This time we don t have to bring a dish to pass, making it less work for us. Our chapter needs some door prizes and some craft items to sell at our Silent Auction. Also, please RSVP your reservations by March 15. And please don t forget, that we will announce our new COUPLE OF THE YEAR for Then, we need to think about rides we would like to place on our schedule. Some suggestions have been made, such as a Lighthouse Ride, a Ride to Hell, MI, a Vineyard Ride, a Dam Ride, Foreign City tour, just to name a few. PATRICK S DAY Usually we have had our last Big Snow on or by St. Patrick s Day. With the amount of snow we have had all winter and the amount dumped on many of the states in mid-february, I hope we are done. Perhaps the luck of the Irish will be with us all and we will have an early warm spring. CAN T WAIT TO RIDE This is the time of the year a cleared path to the Gold Wing is kept just in case we have a sunshine day. If the weatherman says warm and sunny, we run out to check the air pressure, warm up the engine and I hope the weatherman is right for once. If the weather is a go we check the shock pressure and do the rest of the inspection. This will not take long. Look it over with regularity before and after the ride. If you put on new tires at the end of last year s riding season or first thing after the winter rest, please be careful those first 200 or 300 miles. The cold roads, new tires and road debris can change your traction. It was heard that a member said that they ran their tires 5 to 7 lbs. low in cold weather. The explanation given will not be repeated. The Engineer s from motorcycle manufacture s and the tire manufactures spend a lot of time and money to give the proper air pressure in the tires. This will ensure the motorcycle perform and handle as it was designed, in all weather conditions. When bad conditions exist such as cold and wet, we learned thru the Rider Education Program to adjust our riding accordingly. Page "4
