1 COA application: 235 Courthouse Square Historic Preservation Commission February 6, 2017 Applicant: Address: COA Request: Cheryl McInnis 400 S. Lamar Boulevard, Suite B Cheryl McInnis of Popfizz Boutique proposes decals and signage for their leased one story space on South Lamar. Popfizz has installed a 12 x 19 white vinyl logo decal sign centered on the front door, and a 15 x 14.5 sticker for the Hours underneath the logo. A rectangular 18 x 36 aluminum hanging sign will be attached perpendicular outside the front door. This is a doubled-faced sign in a black frame. The sign is white, and reads popfizz boutique in metallic silver and metallic gray. The sign will be attached to the ceiling with black posts. At least three reserved parking signs will be mounted just like other signs within the site, and will be 12 x 18. These aluminum signs will include black text with the logo in metallic silver and metallic gray on a white background. COA History: COA Case #220 09/2016 Hanging 20 x 40 metal sign and window decals for Uncommon Oxford Approved COA Case #175 01/2016 Hanging 20 x 40 metal sign for Community Mortgage Approved Consultant s Comments: COA application 235 seeks approval for: 1. a vinyl logo decal and a sticker for hours under the logo, 2. a hanging sign, and 3. reserved parking signs. The previously installed vinyl logo decal (12 x 19 ) and the hours sticker (15 x 14.5 ) are permitted under Code and do not conflict with Oxford Design Guidelines, Section 15 Signage, p

2 The rectangular aluminum hanging sign (18 x 36 ) is appropriate in size, height, and number as defined in the Land Development Code, Appendix A, Article 5 Sign Regulations, However, Commissioners should confirm that the sign will maintain a clear height of eight feet above the sidewalk and not project more than 42 inches from any building or within 24 inches of any curb line or pavement edge. Code Further, the hanging sign does not interfere with neighboring signs and the size, shape and relationship to the rest of the building appears appropriate considering Oxford Design Guidelines, Section 15 Signage, p The reserved parking signs are similar in size and style to the existing parking signs and do not conflict with Oxford Design Guidelines, Section 15 Signage, p Therefore, Consultant recommends approval of COA application
