2 Engineered or Economical TURNing Perormance Small Size Cost Saving Inserts In many turning plications, people tend to use larger inserts than are actually required or the machining parameters being plied. To ill the niche, ISCAR is introducing a wide range o ISOTURN small sized inserts, which provide an economical advantage per cutting edge. The new inserts are available in a wide range o geometries, corner radii, new chipormers and the most advanced SUMO TEC carbide grades. The available geometries are WNMG , WNMG 06T3.., WNMX , CNMG , CNMX , SNMG , DNMG , TNMG and TNMX These inserts are generally thicker than the standard inserts o the same sizes, thus providing higher durability. They can run at eed rates similar to the larger inserts inserts in WNMX, CNMX and TNMX geometries. These inserts, like their larger counterparts, have high positive radial helical cutting edges and positive rake angles, which is a combination that substantially reduces cutting orces and thus enables machining at higher cutting loads. Among the small economical inserts there is a new geometry: YNMG 1604, which its into the standard pocket o the VNMG 1604 insert (the seat needs to be replaced with the IYSN 322 seat). The YNMG 1604 insert eatures a 25º corner angle. This new insert was designed or turning o very narrow V-shed grooves which cannot be machined by the standard 35º inserts. As the ISO turning plications are used extensively in the metal cutting industry, the new inserts and tools can be used on plications where large inserts are unnecessarily used instead o using smaller, more economical inserts which can do the same job successully. This recommendation excludes heavy interrupted plications. ISCAR is adding the small sized HELITURN LD ISCAR

3 The 3/8 inscribed circle FLASHTURN inserts can cover about 75% o turning plications, as the most popular D.O.C. range is between 1 to 3 mm.
