Installation The fan must be positioned on a rigid and perfectly flat bracket. The weight of the bracket must be at least double the weight of the fan. It is essential that the bracket remains horizontal to ensure the fan works without vibrations. To ensure that the fan does not vibrate, it needs to be equipped with flexible sleeves connected to the network. 13 ATEX ventilation ATEX IN SHORT Directive /EU (transposed in French law by decree of 1/7/15): for manufacturers. It defines the technical requirements essential for equipment and protective systems (assessment of appliances by an approved body, inspection and monitoring of the production process, etc.) in order to prove their compliance. Directive 99/92/EC (transposed by decrees and ): for users. It requires employers to assess the risks associated with the presence of explosive atmospheres, by classifying their premises into different zones, and to use ATEX equipment categories suited to these zones. What is an explosive atmosphere? An explosive atmosphere is defined as a mixture with air: of inflammable substances in the form of gases, vapours, mist or dust, under atmospheric conditions, in which, after ignition has occurred, combustion spreads to the entire unburned mixture. If one of the points of this definition is not satisfied, the products are not subject to directive /EU. How is ATEX equipment compliance guaranteed? EC declaration of conformity: This is provided by the manufacturer and must accompany each product or batch of identical products. Equipment marking: This is mandatory and must appear on each piece of equipment in a manner that is legible and indelible.
