3 General Description CMP fans are robust, reliable products designed for general industrial applications. They are particularly suitable for situations in which the motor needs to be out of the airstream for reasons of temperature or airborne contamination. The fans are constructed using anti-corrosion treated steel and are driven by standard dimensioned squirrel cage induction motors having ingress protection to IP54 or IP55 classification. The motor itself can operate in an ambient temperature of 40 C although the temperature of the air transported through the fan housing can be up to 120 C. Fan impellers are in standard diameters from 80 to 500mm offering air flow rates up to 16500m³/h. Typical applications would be hot air extraction from metal working equipment, ambient air supply to industrial and agricultural boilers, warm air circulation for drying processes, and high humidity air extraction. Axair Fans stock a popular range of standard CMP fans with a number of custom specials having either temperature protection to 250 C or stainless steel construction.
